It was at this moment that Max thought that this kingdom might hold something more than it meets the eye. From what his mother told him, everything changed 30 years ago. Max was mulling over this matter when his mother spoke.

"Max, are you sure that you do not feel any changes in your body after the demon's attack?" Her mother was looking at Max's body carefully, trying to figure out if there is anything different in Max's body. She ran a series of tests for Max to do, she wanted to see if he can still use his magic and aura but there seems to be no problem so far. What bothered Max's mother as to how the demon felt that his purpose was not in vain after he finished his incantation.

Max felt that his mother's worry was reasonable, that there is something inside his body.

"Stay in the mansion for a couple of days. We will wait for your grandmother's reply before doing anything." Max's mother said with gentleness as she touched Max's cheek.

"I understand mother," Max replied without question.

Max mother looked at Max with a concerned face and said, "You can go and rest. It must have been hard on you, these last couple of days."

Max went out of his mother's room before he could take a step further. An arm was already around his neck while hanging like a koala. Max did not need to move and take action. He was able to perceive that someone was waiting outside the door since earlier.

"Why did you not bring me with you when you were going on an adventure in the dungeons," the hanging koala said while dangling at Max's neck, looking with puppy dog eyes as if she was abandoned.

"You have classes' sister. I did not want to bother you with such trivial matters." Max said with a smile looking at his sister.

He started to outgrow his sister he is now half a head taller than her. She might have grown into an adult but she still has some of her childishness when she's with Max.

Pouting her lips in defeat, she removed her arms on his neck and went down, "Next time you should take me with you. Now that you have a girl, you start to forget about your older sister."

Max smiled at her sister's response.

They headed to his room and talked as they walk. Max explained his so-called adventures in the dungeon while her sister listened with an utmost interest in the matter.

"I want to go in the dungeons and test my skills too," Alicia said dejectedly.

"This might not be the best time to go to the dungeons. You should also be careful when you're going out." Max reminded her sister who is known for her adventurous streak.

"What do you mean?" Alicia asked looking perplexed.

"I'll tell you once we reach my room," Max said without giving in to his sister's incessant request to know what happened.

Soon as they entered the door, Alicia found a new person to badger. She went straight for Lyla who started to approach the two of them to great them. Alicia gave Lyla a warm big hug and asked, "How was the dungeon?"

Lyla looked at Max as if confirming if he had told Alicia what happened. Max shook his head as a response. Lyla gave a knowing smile and took Alicia to the receiving area in the room, she prepared snacks and drinks before they started to converse about what happened.

Max, on the other hand, went to his room.

"Lumi are you fine now?" He called out full of concern. Max can still feel their connection but it has gotten thin and weak. Lumi did not appear nor reply. Although Max was worried, there was nothing he could as Lumi expressed that she was tired from assimilating with the dagger.

Max took out his dagger from his storage. He looked at it with interest, from its former jet black color it turned into silver when Lumi assimilated into the core of the dagger. Max thought of what Lumi said, the inside of the core felt the same as his consciousness. What exactly is his consciousness and this core that is embedded in the dagger? The ancient people were able to create such magical artifacts that do not exist at the current time. The creation process was not passed down through generations.

What happened in the past for something this important to not be able to be passed down to the future generations?
