If the crystals are so energy dense I'm pretty sure electromagnetic weaponry becomes possible when using say C-class stones and above, and railguns are well, piercing weapons so it could be good against frontal swarms as well as large targets. And (ignoring barrel problems) it would be cheapish since ammo is literally iron rods
High Explosives Canister Shells for crowd control. It will exploded and spread thousands of shrapnel like anti personnel mines, or tens of 8-gauge shotgun shot at the same time.
I mean canister shells work, but they're also quite expensive. The more complicated a shell is the more expensive it becomes. That's why I suggested using solid shells with no filler, which can be mass produced cheaply by casting.
APFSDS is also overkill, theyre made to pierce tanks from 3000m away. Let's give larger monsters benefit of the doubt and say they have a armour level of concrete bunker, you should still be able to kill them with WW2 era type shells especially if aiming for weakpoints and coming from a 120 mm gun which is WW2 artillery level
(Actually if your using sabot rounds so close you don't need the fins cuz fins are there to achieve accuracy at very long ranges, so at close range they are useless)

Wait shouldn't the use of crystal make space travel extremely easy? A super dense energy that only needs water, which can be mined from ice in space or reclaimed.
The problem with space travel and living has always been energy storage and conversion that's why hydrogen fuel is considered the best way to refuel in space, since water is abundant in space.
With the addition of crystal you skip the energy needed to convert water to hydrogen fuel, by straight up using water (+crystal) as the fuel

If you need weaknesses, I would suggest accuracy and time to hit, since a rod from God has to travel down from orbit and is practically a unguided projectile there would be some displacement from the original trajectory(unless you want to give it a supercomputer) so large swarms and ultra large creatures would be the main target, and it would miss say, small/medium groups of fast elite monsters (or could take them out with the resulting shockwave up to you

Yeah but that massively increases costs cos the fins and electronics have to be engineered to survive re-entry, all while being packed into the small rod. Also rods would disintegrate after use so thats alot of engineering and electronics for a 1 time use weapon. Maybe a weapon for when you have surplus funds
Idk if this is a plot hole but how do monsters survive on earth if foreign beings/walkers need serum to just stay on earth, I remember the serum replenishes mana or something, so shouldn't monsters be really weak on earth where there is very little mana

I love your story. Especially since humanity managed to hold it's own against the apocolypes than getting instantly beaten by magic monsters. I hate it when manhwas shows the military being so close to the enemy when they are supposed to be calling in air support and artillery from kilometers away. Military tech should also be enhanced by magic+science, rather than relying on awakened humans hunters or some BS.
I have been looking for a concept like this for ages.
