I grew up as a surfer kid in California for 20 years. Got a degree, didn't use it, and joined the military as a radio and television broadcaster. Got roped into A LOT of combat in Afghanistan, and came out nine months later a bit messed up (disabled). Nowadays I'm an English teacher in Texas, with four degrees of which I use two, and I'm trying to get into writing full-time as I've found this is what I really really really enjoy doing.
