An amateur writer with debilitating social anxiety and horribly slow posting speeds. My attempts at social interaction don't usually end well, so I tend to keep to myself most of the time. I enjoy many types of stories, but I can be pretty edgy IRL and that can often reflect in my writing.
Anyway, I'm awfully, annoyingly shy, so I have a hard time even responding to comments. I've been trying to get better at it lately though. I hope you'll continue to read my stories if you happen to see them on the front page on the rare occasions I upload.

Next chapter's on its way! Probably not the best time to announce that (not an April Fool's joke), but... Anyway, we're delving into the origin of the Mystic Menagerie this time, so look forward to it.

No, we are, a little. First of all, sorry. Right after cringing at the idea that I only put out 6 chapters in 2023, I go 8 months before the next one. No excuses really, beyond a struggle for motivation and some occasional real life bumps getting in the way. But as I said on the story's page itself, I'm NOT dropping MEA. Even if it does take up to a year or more, the next chapter's always coming, trust me.
That being said, hope you enjoy this one.

Honestly, with how sporadic the uploads are that's really how I'd prefer it for those who wanna stay caught up. I'll still do little updates like this about two months following a chapter release (my self-imposed deadline), and also when the next chapter is near completion.
At this rate, I'll reread the whole thing

New chapter on the way in a few hours. Hope you enjoy. I know I'm terrible at this whole "balancing two concurrent plots" thing, but next chapter we're going back to the investigation with Micah and Aurelia.
Apologies for the lack of updates, especially around Christmas/New Years. I wanted to get the chapter out around then but it just wasn't possible sadly. Still need a bit more time, but don't worry it's on the way.
On a side note, I've noticed that I developed this awful habit of bloating chapters with heaps of monologue and exposition over back and forth dialogue, which used to be super common in the early chapters. The story has of course gotten more complex since back then so it's to be expected, but I want to see if I can do something about that going forward.
Okay, I'll be the first to admit that the latest chapter sucked. The interrogation was rushed and left out a lot of information that should have realistically been brought up, and it was all ultimately derailed for the sake of a dumb gag. And so, I've re-edited and expanded that scene, adding in most of what I felt was missing, and hopefully making things flow a bit more naturally without necessarily changing the direction. If you read it through already, I recommend giving it another peek.
Next chapter will be Reintegration Part 2, so look forward to that.
Alrighty, so the glossary has been updated to include Ellie (finally) as well as new antagonist Janus, who I generated to help visualize as I was writing the chapter due to her... unique appearance, shall we say. Ended up with a lot of excess images and didn't want to do nothing with them, so she's there too now.

Surprise chapter release folks, thanks for waiting all this time. So I kind of lied about the combat, but this is a pretty necessary chapter regardless, so I hope you're not too bored waiting for more action. It's coming, don't worry. New cover art too for those who haven't checked in in a while.
I've also got images ready to create a character profile for Ellie (finally) as well as one for one of the new characters introduced in this new chapter. I'll get on that when I feel like it, so in the meantime, enjoy.
Just a quick update to say that the chapter's still on its way, but it's taking longer than expected. I'll update again when I've got a better idea on when it's coming out. Also congrats @EternalSunset0 for Rising Author!!!

Chapter chapter chapter. Shouldn't have acted like I wouldn't be late basically single every time. I'm genuinely surprised I didn't lose any readers since last upload, but I guess I should be grateful instead for your guys' patience with me. This might be the most well-written chapter to date, and there're some extra surprises thrown in there too for good measure. Hope you enjoy.

Surprise chapter upload to make up for being late. You might find this one a tad underwhelming considering the wait time, but like I said in the other post I had to work out some lore stuff to ensure various things made sense before moving forward. I'm in a better position now from a planning standpoint, but I write very much off the cuff, so I can't guarantee this won't happen again. Thanks for your guys' understanding as always, and hope you enjoy.
Quick update: First I want to apologize for the lack of a chapter following the 1 month mark. It's coming along slower than usual due to some lore stuff I had (and still have) to work out. I may or may not explain more about my woes in the comments of the chapter itself, but for now please bear with me a bit longer. In slightly better news, Circe has two new high quality portraits at the bottom of her section of the glossary, so... yeah. Enjoy 'em. If you want.
