Unfortunately, I can't give you good information other than to say that .net is generally safe, and SOL is very safe.  You've disabled the 'chat' feature, so I can't give you much - this is limited in length.    Try beyondthefarhorizon.net, royalroad.com, storiesonline.net, and look for the baen free library.  All are safe.

.com, .net, .org, and .edu came first.   There's no real security difference.  The later ones, however, are often grabbed by malicious actors.
