Hey! I decide to just write in a more webnovel style similar to my old one for the new chapters. I noticed that I've been having a lot of trouble when I started learning how to write a novel 'properly'. Stuff like detailed dialogue tags, long and detailed descriptions, etc. Plus, I feel like my story has been getting too gritty.
I'll switch back to using more fast-paced writing with action tags and straight to the point descriptions. Of course, I'll still pay attention to grammar and the story tone. Hopefully, this will make writing easier for me.
Oh no, it's been bothering me for a while now and I want to change back to my old style, but I genuinely thought that I was the one in the wrong for thinking that way.
After reading that it's normal for webnovels to not have dialogue tags just made me realize that it's just a writing style.
I've been noticing a lot of inconsistencies in my writing style. I don't know if they're a turn off or not, but should I fix them first or should I just focus on writing/researching materials for new chapters?
in my opinion, fixing inconsistencies helps readers not to be confused and keeps the story engaging. And it could help with the flow in writing future chapters. That's my experience at least when reading stories on this site.
