Soft spoiler, in this chapter Ela officially becomes a rebel. I wanted to give this to her, she has been alone for a long time. It's very meaningful to her to be accepted. I hope that no matter who you are you find your own acceptance. 

Chapter 1 was released today. It's an introduction to the main characters as well as the beginning of their relationship. It can be read without reading the prologue, though the prologue is good background for how Ela got imprisoned.

This has only been the prologue of Vampire in Space. Originally I was going to end it with the last scene of the prologue and post it as a short story. I read it through with my editor Moy and felt the story bursting from the seams ready to continue. The vampire Ela grabbed us and forced her own story through. I couldn't leave Ela in her floating prison forever and thus a new story was born.
