They say that when in doubt about a haunting, best to place a seal over the whole building just to be safe, even if the tests don’t show any signs of activity.  Especially if the structure was built by its primary inhabitants.  This may not always be practical with larger buildings or with homes that are currently being lived in, but you’d be surprised how many ghosts hang out in overgrown garden sheds and dilapidated workshops.
