Volume 03 Chapter 95a. Bonus Chapter: Let's Create a Manga! Part 1

Upon my return from Dwelf, I found myself inspecting an item handed over by a merchant who frequented the market—an item rumored to be the relic of Sowzy. Such things were often mere forgeries, yet it was within the scope of my duties to verify them, given the slightest chance of authenticity.

Amidst this routine, an unusual sight caught my eye—a book.

"This... is unlike any picture book I've seen..."

The book presented an intriguing format, with dialogue juxtaposed beside illustrations. Intrigued, I consulted the World Library, and information flooded into my mind.

Manga

A narrative conveyed through a combination of images and dialogue, manga originated as satirical drawings but evolved over time into a form of entertainment.

"Well, this is quite fascinating... Easier to grasp than a novel, yet offering more freedom than a picture book."

Perhaps this could be something enjoyable even for adults. And if successful, it might even become a new specialty of Asgard.

With a sense of urgency, I rang the bell, and almost immediately, there came a knock at the door. Isn't that a bit too prompt? Surely they hadn't been waiting right outside the door all this time? I mused as I granted permission to enter.

"Ah, come in."

"My apologies. What can I do for you, Master? Is this... a manga? Quite a nostalgic find."

Galatea, bowing respectfully as she entered, widened her eyes at the sight of the manga before breaking into a nostalgic smile.

"Galatea, have you read this manga before?"

"Yes, my father brought it to this world long ago. I've read plenty and have the content memorized. However, after my father's passing, it didn't gain much traction and was rumored to circulate only in a distant land called Haruhabara."

"Indeed, it seems to be a product of another world's culture..."

The decline in popularity likely stemmed from the scarcity of individuals capable of replicating its style and the complexity of its narrative.

Nevertheless, Asgard boasted individuals well-versed in otherworldly cultures.

"Well then, why don't we try creating one ourselves? Let's popularize this manga. Galatea, do you think you could contribute to its creation?"

In response to my proposal, Galatea's expression turned somber.

"Well... it's certainly possible, but... there's one issue. As a robot, I lack the ability to craft a story."

I hadn't paid much mind to her being an automaton, assuming her capabilities to be akin to a human's. Yet, it seemed there were limitations even for Galatea. Nonetheless, a solution presented itself.

"In that case... why don't we have our subjects create the stories, which you can then adapt into manga?"

"A splendid idea, Lord Grace!"

And thus, it was decided that we would solicit original works to create manga in Asgard.

And so, the serialization of our comic adaptation began in Sirius on Wednesdays.

You can read it for free on Nico Nico Seiga, and your support would be greatly appreciated.
