Holistic Medicine

"What's a nanite?" The Arbiter held me in her arms, supporting me as I straddled her waist and hugged her neck. Her head was perfectly tilted so as to be the epitome of cuteness and I was left breathless yet again. "Haaah." Deep breaths Xerin. Deeeeep breaths. "Well, uh. Actually, I'm not really sure exactly what they are but I think they're, like, little tiny machines. Like, the size of an atom tiny, ya know? They're all linked up to a central network and cause phenomena - like shooting a lance of ice, or splashing something with water - by either constructing said phenomena of these machines or causing a physical reaction, like a fireball or lightning bolt. Ah! But that's just in the context of the whole pseudo-magic thing. They're normally used for constru-"

She cut me off with a giggle and a finger on my lips, "Yes yes, I understand. It was a translation error. We called them AtoMachines, and no, they are not in use here." I couldn't help but chortle at the silly name, "AtoMachines? Isn't that a little on the nose? At least 'nanites' is... uh, never mind.... A-Anyway, so that means there's some other high-tech imitation of magic in use here, right?" I segued with supreme skill.

More giggling. Geez, she's really trying to kill me isn't she? "Yes and no cutie~. My forebears were masters of genetic technology and discovered something quite interesting. They called it 'Conscious Quantum Manipulation' and it was a part of their natural genome. In time, they were able to replicate it and implant it into other genetic templates. Of course, those of this world currently call this power 'Magic' and the practice is not nearly as advanced as it was. Though, interestingly they had - through this discovery - stumbled upon the existence of the soul. And it was the soul which fueled this ability. It seems as if your people have also discovered this, and are much more versed in its mechanisms than mine were. Yours has been artificially enhanced somehow."

"I see..." Yeah I'm super confused. Their DNA let them play around with quantum physics? It was fueled by the soul? How did they call that anything but magic? And MercyHouse of all things knew of the existence of the immortal soul? What? "Uh, wait. Doesn't that mean I can't use it? I mean, I don't even know how I got this body but I'm sure it doesn't have whatever genome thingy that let them do that, right?" I'm still ignoring the fact that I'm straddling the tall blonde woman, and I definitely do not feel something poking me. No sirree Bob.

"Hmm, interesting... It seems as if this both is and isn't your body, how strange." She had shifted one hand to the base of my skull and I once again felt a cooling, prickly sensation spread from the contact. "And these machines... ah I understand, I think. You've been 'reconstructed' so to speak. I can't know if this was your original genome, but this body was put together in a hurry. There seems to be quite a bit of damage to the internal structure of your most basic genetic information. However, I dare say if they hadn't done this, you'd be nothing but a particularly rich soul, blind to the world around you. You'd probably even be bound to the one that summoned you, as it's doubtful I'd have caught you without any mass. Not that your people would have known such, but they've assisted you nonetheless."

'Awe shit' I thought. There are a few reasons for this. First of all, being bound to some puffy old geezer who goes rooting through old texts sounds like a living hell. Especially with the whole 'blind to the world around you' thing. Second of all, if I ever get back I am suing the shit out of MercyHouse studios. My original genome was supposed to be destroyed completely. No traces left behind. Why would I want the body I was born in to face total obliteration, you may ask? Well that's simple, really: disease. Specifically, I was born with a set of genetic disorders that had never been seen in a single patient all at once. This caused all sorts of issues and resulted in my name going down in human history as a syndrome. Great, that.

Anyway, it was basically hyper-cancer and if this body is even loosely based on that one, then I'm screwed. Of course, being faced with my mortality for the first time in, who knows how many, years has me hyperventilating and shaking in her arms. So, Noelle quickly sat on the clouds to hold me even tighter. "Sh sh sh, It's okay. I can see that the nanites are keeping you together and substituting a large part of you right now," A choked sob escaped me, like jeez babe have some tact will ya? I already know I'm dying, why you gotta tell me I'm slowly turning into a nan-droid too? "It's alright~ I promise. Here take this," She slides something past my lips, it feels like a horse pill, but I can't stop myself from swallowing it for some reason, as much as it hurts. "That was a nutrient bomb, of sorts. It should help your machines rebuild your organs in the meantime, while I get everything ready. I already promised to make sure you survive didn't I?"

With that, she stood up with me in a princess carry and our surroundings shifted into what seemed to be a hyper advanced medical suite. I'm not sure if we moved or if she somehow summoned this around us, but that doesn't really matter right now does it? She walked over to a capsule of sorts in the center and placed me within it. "Right, any preferences?" There must've been a pretty dumb look on my tear stained face, because she laughed before explaining herself, "How would you like to look? You can have whatever appearance you like, though if you wish to live in a society, I do recommend something bipedal." she joked... I think.

Overwhelmed was a word. A really, really good word that did not do me justice at the moment. Her confidence told me it would all be okay, and this right now felt like the first step away from my old life. I was still reeling from everything. As excited as I was to finally escape, there were a lot of things that I was going to miss. 'I hope Grelda is going to be okay. We were only casual partners, but I always felt she wanted more... I never did get to teach her anything, well she'll get all my books anyways. Ah, my tower, all the research and materials I had... I guess she can have all that too...' I had left everything else behind long before I had shed my defective body. I had pursued a different life in a different world, but it was all just make-believe. A sufficiently advanced roleplay so as to be indistinguishable from the real thing...

Now... now I really can start over.

"Haaaaah" I let out a deep sigh and a single tear I promised myself would be the last... for a while at least. Noelle looked pretty self-assured and was calmly waiting for my answer, calming me down in turn. I already knew what I wanted anyway. "Right, I'd like to keep the face but otherwise... Well, I want to be, uhm, a lot like you honestly. A little taller, maybe 210 cm? Yeah that sounds nice. Uhm maybe a little smaller in the chest and hips, but I'd like to keep that hourglass look, ya know? Oh and muscle! Not like, bodybuilder ripped or anything but proper six pack... uh if possible?" I trailed off after realizing what exactly I was saying, 'Oh gosh what the heck am I saying??? That's so embarrassing!!! Gah, at this point, it's whatever. If she can do all that for me then it's all good!' I looked up to see her reaction and she was just tapping away at a screen at the foot of the pod with an odd smile... 'Huh, I guess it's all good?'

"S-So, It's possible then? You can really do that for me? Fix me up and make me look how I like?" She looked at me with a sweet smile "Of course, a promise is a promise. While I'm at it I'll implant the genome that makes you capable of Conscious Quantum Manipulation. Though I'll definitely miss this cute look you've got going on." Well, she was right. Currently I did look very cute. At 150 cm tall, thin, with slight curves, I was solidly in the 'adorable' range. My face messed with the image a little bit. All harsh lines and high cheekbones, it was the face of a handsome beauty. Of course, my slight appearance was thanks to the condition I'll be remembered for. I had always felt no small amount of dysphoria being so tiny, and now was my chance to fix it.

Pulling me from my thoughts, Noelle cleared her throat. "Ahem, Y-You said you wanted to be like me. Are you sure?" She was strangely bashful saying this, a tone completely juxtaposed with her attitude up to this point. "Huh? Uh yeah? You're gorgeous Noelle, why wouldn't I want to look like you?" She blushed and closed her eyes, biting her lip before stepping away and turning to the side - to show me what she meant, presumably. As she stepped back, I took the opportunity to look at her body in detail. I'm sure this is what she wanted me to do, right?

Standing just over 2 meters tall, Noelle was the epitome of a mature beauty. Wide hips, jiggle in all the right places and a bust larger than my head that just barely sagged with weight; all of that, combined with her waist length blonde hair, and moist green eyes, she was the walking incarnation of a mommy kink. Just two things broke the traditional image, though some connoisseurs held that it was only enhanced by the additions. For one, she had long pointed ears, drooping slightly from the weight of golden jewelry. Secondly, her loin-cloth-skirt - which previously fell to her knees - now hung only several centimeters past her crotch, much further out than before. Outlined in the pearlescent garment was the largest penis I'd ever seen. At least 35 cm long and proportionally thick, I was glad I could only see the outline of such a monster. It must be terrifying in all it's glory.

I swallowed thickly, definitely not entranced, and spoke in the smallest voice I'd ever used, "Uhm, yes please."

She beamed, her cheeks flushing even more. Which went entirely missed by me, due to yet more twitching. She stepped back towards the screen and began taping away rapidly as she spoke, her voiced colored with arousal. "Now, the changes wont be instantaneous and you'll be able to change small things without needing this whole setup here, like hair color and the like. They won't happen without your input either. You should be able to accommodate a few of the changes I'm setting up right away. Otherwise you'll have to strengthen your body to give the system the 'scaffolding' to work off of, so to speak. You can decide what to change and when, but it will never happen when you're conscious, okay?"

"Uhuh, sure. And uhm, how, exactly, do I go about doing any of that?" Wasn't this all happening way too fast? Just a couple of hours ago I had woken up on some clouds and now I was about to go through extensive gene therapy to cure super-cancer and to learn magic... Damn, this really is some fever dream isn't it? Ugh... well, whatever. If I am in a coma or something then I'll wake up eventually, and if I end up building a life here then I'll just have to avoid any lamps.1 "The Lamp" creepypasta

"Oh, right. Well, for now I'll just make sure you're hale and healthy on my end. I'll have to co-opt your little machines to make this seamless for you, so you'll be using your interface in the future to make the changes you'd like. I'll also do you a favor and quantify your soul value for you within said interface - as well as a way to check that of others." She continued to tap away before finally turning to me with a sultry smile. "Now then, as I said, you can't be conscious for these things. So~ would you like mommy to put you to bed~?"
