I woke to a blur of motion, disoriented and groggy. Voices echoed around me, muffled and distant.

"Look for survivors!"

"There's one here!"

"Move them, there might be some leftover monster here."

Shouts and footsteps can be heard here and there. The relentless search for remaining monsters and possible survivors go on.

I stand up, leaning on the building wall as I balance myself. I'm not hurting anywhere, only sore on a few spots. My body might be in better condition than I thought. I seemed to have overreacted when the orc hit me.

Inspecting my gear, I saw how horrible the condition of my equipments. Clothes in tatters, missing boots, holes in my leather vest, and my shattered sword.

This is significant loss for me, especially the sword. I needed equipment to at least be a supporter, I couldn't be even one without a weapon. I could only hope for some reward for defending Orario, though it's more likely for it to be nonexistent.

I dragged my body along the wall, pathfinding my way to where I left Fael. I have no idea which part of the city I'm currently in, there's no notable structure around me to distinguish direction.

An idea occured to me, I shifted towards the central plaza. Because the attack of Evilus ended, people should be gathering there at the moment. I could wait there for Fael or ask if anyone saw him there. It felt embarrassing how I didn't think of this first.

I'm worried about his situation, since I'm the one that left him. Once I confirmed his safety, I could leave him to do what he wanted. I'm responsible for him but I'm not his guardian, he should not rely on me too much.

After some time I've reached the central plaza, though it looked more like a war camp than a plaza. So many patients are laid on the ground, they're feeding potions to those with light injuries while casting healing magic on those with severe one's.

The one in command is quite capable. He already took on account several variables when deciding to place the patients here. The main one's were the capacity of health facilities and the other is time.

By using the central plaza they can utilize a wide area to heal them, it will prevent more chaos from panicking due to limited space. It will also save time, effectively increasing the survival rate. No rookie commander will do this, it's reckless yet calculated.

I looked around, and asked for information while looking at the aftermath of war between Orario and Evilus. Then finally I found Fael, he was safe.

"Thank you for taking care of him, I'm Siegfried," I held out a hand.

"Don't mention it, that weakling can defend himself," he smirked which bares no ill intent.

"Right, he may look like a weakling to you," I assessed his strength, he's about mid Level-3.

"Anyway, I'm Bete Loga, I'll get going someone's waitin for me," with a simple introduction he left blending with the crowd.

After finding Fael we immediately went to the guild, our purpose–my purpose–was to get a compensation even just a free lodging is enough.

On our way Fael repeatedly asked me why I didn't give him my name, I ignored it due to circumstances. I might be able to use my name in this city, hardly anyone should know it.

Upon arriving at the guild I asked if there's a reward of any form, but there is no such thing. Luckily they allowed me to borrow some equipments along with a few thousand valis without being in a Familia.

With that done I helped Fael find the perfect Familia for him. The Familia that fit him are Vidar, Ganesha, Loki, and Astrea. Loki Familia have high standards, Ganesha Familia have too many rules, Astrea Familia is out of the line as all of it's members are females.

All that's left is Vidar Familia, they are composed of mostly Level-2 and one Level-3. They're a perfect place for a beginner to grow, joining might not be a problem since there's a familiar name on their ranks.

I advised Fael to join Vidar Familia, he's quite reluctant at first stating that Loki Familia is better but he complied anyway. He must've known that he's not good enough to join Loki Familia.

We went on separate ways after leaving the guild, Fael went to Vidar Familia and I went to the Dungeon. I have something to test, it's crucial resources that can be found in the Dungeon.

The Dungeon is a giant hole on the world, monsters—humanity's greatest enemy—are birthed in this place. When the heroes of old finally pushed back the swarm of monsters, they made a fortress on top of the giant hole. Years of rebuilding due to the fortress's constant destruction lead to how it is currently.

I entered the Babel, very few people are going in and out. Going further, a gate can be seen. It is directly connected to Babel's basement which is the only entrance to the Dungeon in the world.

The basement is quite a spectacle. At the very middle of it is a wide hole with depth enough to kill a normal person without, yet there's only a circular stairs leading downwards–a weird design no doubt.

I arrived at a wide hallway with light blue colored walls–the first floor of the Dungeon. It was filled with some adventurers planning to advance to deeper Floors. I proceeded to walk for sometime until there's only me inside a light blue cavern like place.

It didn't take long before something spawned from the Dungeon walls. Cracks emerged from the walls before an arm broke through it.

It's a dog headed monster called kobold, it's weapons are claws and fangs.

"Griiii!" It screamed as it pounce to my direction.

An airborne opponent is nothing more than a scarecrow, it could not dodge as I swung my sword upward diagonally, counteracting it's downward force while simultaneously enhancing my attack.

It dropped to the side gravely injured, flailing around before dieing. I punctured it's chest, taking the magic stone, then proceed to my experiment.

I wrapped my right hand around the magic stone, then imagined it being absorbed by me. In a moment the magic stone lost its power, all that left are ashes.

My horns which have disappeared after I woke up grew again, it now have a light shade of blue instead of a darker one.

"Now it's undeniable, it's neither a curse nor defect, I have just gained a unique ability."
