In a dark room highlights a floating sniper rifle that hovers inside a glass box. Imagine a mystical long ranged weapon, seamlessly melding magic and technology. Its frame is encased in a pristine white shell, with a body resembling vibrant purple tree bark. The heart of this enchanting creation pulses with a vivid green light, serving as both its power source and a mesmerizing focal point. Stretched to a length of 6 feet, the barrel and recoil pad contribute to its elongated and ethereal design.

A young lady enters to look into the glass pane.

"Man'pa..." She said in a soft tone, as she caress the box.

Gaze down. Smile. Look back at Man'pa.

"A step, mom. I found another. Surprisingly right after losing track of the other."

Man'pa pulses a green vworb. Young lady giggles.

"I won't let this opportunity go, dad. I promise..."

Another girly knocks and opens the door slightly. She peeks inside, "Vee? Op-"

Vee looks back at her with a genuine smile.

"Lex? Why so early?"

The two hugged for a bit, "I should be asking you, girl." Then they both look at the sniper. "Heyy mommy! Heyy daddy! I'll just be borrowing your daughter for a while, 'kay?"

Man'pa pulses a vworb. Vee and Lex share a smile.

"You have a lead?" She asked Vee, and Vee nods.

"Good for you!" Lex squishes Vee's arm

"I also have good news to tell, c'mere"

Lex walks towards the door. Vee looked back at Man'pa and kisses the glass pane before following her. As Vee and Lex walked down the agency corridor, they passed offices with transparent walls, revealing agents engrossed in their work within glass-enclosed cubicles. The mundane paperwork and high-tech gadgets neatly arranged on desks contrasted with the enchanting sight of floating papers and shimmering holographic displays. The midnight blue jumpsuits with silver trim stood out against the backdrop of these transparent workspaces, emphasizing the blending of futuristic technology and mystical elements within the Arcane Investigation Bureau.

"So like, news broke out last night, about the thingy you said you were going to do, and it made the people go crazy! There were so many conspiracies and misinformation last night that I couldn't sleep arguing with strangers. There are also Sheridan-apologists, justifying his actions because he created some sort of "Cat people", you know, those porn characters with cat ears and tails. Ugh, what a bunch of degenerates. Like, see, look at this"

Lex attempted to show something on her phone, but Vee swiftly interjected, "The news caused a stir?" Lex mmhmmed.

"The Luminary's coming down to address the public this morning, we should watch it on the projector later! Yea know, while munchin on something."

As they chatted, another officer jogged to catch up with them. "You guys talking about the Luminary?"

"Hey Tim"

"Always, when it comes to the tea, here comes Tim. Hey Timm!"

"You know, I heard Miss Leah's down there prepping for the Luminary's arrival. How come she didn't call us down there?"

"I feel as if Miss Leah's only there to represent the AIB. The Technomagica Patrol seems to have the plaza under control."

"We should like, watch her Address the state together! Call Sean to our room and I'll prep the foodies."

Tim gave her a thumbs up before jogging away. Vee and Lex enter their apartment. In their shared apartment, the room emanated a controlled chaos. Amidst the clutter, it was evident which side belonged to each as peculiar assortments of items were scattered about. Vee perched on the floor, meticulously assembling weapon parts and intertwining electrical components—a fusion of technology and arcane craftsmanship unfolding before her. A green and blue metal ball, a smoke dispenser, and a delicate trigger lay on the floor, each piece contributing to a creation that blended both functionality and aesthetic allure. The room's lighting adjusted subtly, responding to Vee's activities. Meanwhile, Lex swung her bag onto a rotating chair, sending papers into a spontaneous dance. Unfazed, she gravitated towards their futuristic kitchen, where holographic interfaces and advanced cooking appliances awaited her command. The hum of the smart induction stove resonated as she embarked on preparing a meal, melding the familiar aromas of home-cooked food with the cutting-edge technology surrounding them.

Lex opens the fridge, "Vee, I'll steal your leftovers to eat while I cook"

"Umm, no?"

Lex munches, talks with her mouth full.

"Mmmm, thanks hun!"

Vee rolls her eyes. Lex goes berserk on the sandwich. A hand with a tissue appears behind her and wipes off the grease on her cheeks.

"Here you go, Alexa." 6 foot dread lock wearing blue eye mogging motherfucker towers behind Alexa. His eyes glowed with a distinct azure hue, a tell-tale sign of his artificial intelligence. On his bulking chest, a badge hails, "Officer JED". She leans back into him with courteous eyes "hubby, I told you to call me wifey..." She pulls his arm around her tummy. Jed playfully rubbed his bushy beardie on her headie. "If you want me to call you wifey, marry me."

"Can you two shut the fuck up?"

Alexa gave Vee a devious look, jumps on Jed's dad bod, leg lock, and eye contact. His arm on her ass, dig.

"This is true love, babes. You can't stop us."

Vee quipped, "More like artificial love. At least make him shorter, or make his dick smaller. A partner can't have it all."

Alexa broke eye contact with Jed, laughing under her breath. He cracks a cackle looking at Vee.

"Duh, that's why he's artificial..." Pull his face back to her gaze. Smooch. Vee barfs.

Tim and Sean burst into the room, Tim exclaims, "Yo-""AYO?!" Tim quickly averts his gaze, face ablaze as he stares out the window.

"Whoa, are we interrupting something?" Sean stands there, utterly clueless.

"What do you think? Ask your viSion pros..." Vee smirks.

Sean opens his lids to reveal a gray eyeball, activating the glasses that describe everything he's supposed to see if he weren't blind. Through his point of view, the glasses input, "Friend, Alexa, carried by, Friend, Officer Jed, on the counter, kissing her neck."

Alexa, blushing uncontrollably, stammers, "Stop! Stop, Jed!" Jed, with a smirk, questions, "Is that a Continue-Stop or a Stop-Stop?" Alexa slaps his chest, "S-Stop-Stop! Put me down!". Jed backs off with his hands up, and Alexa fans her face, wiping away tears. Fwooo!

"Shoo, boy! Shoo! Oh wait, actually? Help me here cook."

Tim jogs to set up the projector, fist-bumping Vee along the way. Sean sits on the couch with proper posture.

"Sean, send me that clip with Lex," Vee requests, eyes focused on the bombs she's tweaking. Alexa points at Sean, eyes on her ladle, and sips. "Don't listen to her, delete it now, babes." She gestures for Jed to sip too, and he nods.

"Send it."

"Delete it!"

"I... I don't know what to do."

"Send it."

"Okay..."

"Good boy."

"Ugh, just- don't post, at least?"

"I won't. I'll keep it just in case."

"JuSt In CaSe?!"

Tim presses a button, and the projector displays a live broadcast on the transparent screen. Jed turns off the lights with a touch to his forehead.

"Okay, guyz, attention here! The news is just about to start."

The room, a chaotic blend of friendships and hi-tech mishaps, settles into anticipation for the impending news broadcast.

==================================FIREFLY NEWS=========================================

The tension in the plaza is palpable as thousands gather, both physically and virtually, eagerly awaiting the President's words. The Luxanna Tower stands tall, its brilliant light casting a sense of both anticipation and uncertainty over the scene.

The first black and bulky SUV arrives, delivering Madam Lysandra, the Luminary. Her silver hair cascades elegantly, complementing a sleeveless low V-cut top that concludes just above her high-waisted pants. The ensemble, a pristine white outfit, is accentuated by an unbuttoned royal blue coat, its flowing tails mirroring the grace of her long hair. Walking alongside her is Felicia, a tall and robust blonde donned in a sleek vest suit, serving as the Luminary's steadfast personal bodyguard. SNAP! SNAP! OVER HERE! SNAP! SNAP! The vigilant Technomagica Patrol diligently clears the path, creating a secure passage for the Luminary's arrival.

Following suit, the second black SUV drops the distinguished representatives of the various branches. Leah Rakishi, the epitome of the Arcane Investigation Bureau, stands forth, embodying the Bureau's essence. Following her, Captain Huando, representative of the Technomagica Patrol, exudes authority in a sharply tailored uniform. Chief Nadir, adorned in the regalia of the Astral Enforcement Agency, projects a commanding presence. Completing the quartet is Aerospace Master Sheiss, an emblem of the Sentinel Division.

Commander Raskolvich, leading the Nexus Security Force, escorts the four leaders with military precision as they stride purposefully toward the podium, ready to address the awaiting multitude. The orchestrated entrance sets the stage for a momentous announcement.

The room erupted in cheers as Leah Rakishi took her place behind the Luminary. Sean swiftly deployed his drone, aiming to capture a close-up of Leah's face. In response, Leah shot a defiant glance at the drone, promptly flipping them off—a gesture that echoed through the room in laughter.

President Lysandra stepped confidently to the podium, her expression resolute. She adorned her shades, the lenses where she would read her script. The news cameras zoomed in, capturing the focused gaze of the President as she prepared to address the state. The entire city tuned in, hanging on to every word, as Lumina Prime awaited the pivotal announcement. The atmosphere, a blend of excitement and anticipation, set the stage for a momentous occasion.

"Welcome back to Firefly News, your go-to source for the hottest updates around Lumina Prime. We're here to cover the fire around the city on the fly, bringing you the latest news with the speed and precision of fireflies in the night. Stay tuned as we shed light on the unfolding events and keep you informed like no one else can. As we speak, the Luminary, President Lysandra, is about to address the nation live from the heart of the city.

[Cut to a split-screen, with the anchor on one side and a reporter amidst a bustling crowd on the other.]

Anchor: Our reporter, Fin Humbleberry, is in the thick of things at the scene. Fin, can you hear me?

[The reporter nods and speaks loudly into the microphone amidst the crowd noise.]

Fin: Yes, Humphrey, I can hear you loud and clear! The atmosphere here is incredibly charged. People have gathered from all over Lumina Prime to witness this historic moment.

[The camera shifts to show the stage where the Luminary stands, overlooking the crowd.]

Humphrey (voiceover): The Luminary is expected to make a ground-breaking announcement about the news last night that broke the internet, creating chaos among our netizens.

[Fin continues to speak, excitement evident in his voice.]

Fin: As you can see behind me, the Luminary is now stepping up to the podium. The crowd has fallen silent, eagerly awaiting what the nation's president has to say.

[The Luminary begins to speak, and the reporter lowers their voice to let the audience hear the address.]

Lysandra: Citizens of Lumina Prime,

Today, I stand before you with a heavy heart and a grave responsibility. Our beloved city, a beacon of progress and unity, is facing a crisis unlike any other. For too long, we have been aware of a hidden threat among us—demons, Impostor Demons, infiltrating our society, masquerading as friends, neighbors, and even leaders. There are sussy impostors among us.

[The holographic display illuminates with declassified pictures of suspected Impostors blending in the public.]

Lysandra: The government chose to keep this knowledge hidden, not out of deception, but out of fear. Fear of causing panic, fear of destabilizing the harmony we've strived so hard to maintain. But that ends today. Transparency and trust are the cornerstones of our society, and we can no longer allow secrecy to jeopardize the safety of our people.

[The holographic display shifts to images of Professor Sheridan's death and the exposed demon at the graveyard.]

Lysandra: Recent events have forced our hand. Last night, a demon within human skin was found dead at a local abandoned cemetery. Not far away lies the corpse of the infamous Professor Sheridan. His untimely death has exposed a disturbing truth—an Impostor demon was found at the scene, unveiled in flashing lights. We can no longer ignore this reality. That is why today, I declare a state of unrest, not to incite fear, but to rally us together, to face this Impostor Epidemic head-on.

[The holographic display transitions to a call for unity, displaying images of citizens standing together.]

Lysandra: We cannot afford to let fear dictate our actions. Instead, we must come together, united in purpose, to safeguard our city and the values we hold dear. Let this be the day when Lumina Prime rises stronger, where we stand shoulder to shoulder, shaping a better future.

[The crowd erupts into applause.]

Lumina Prime has always been a city of innovation and resilience. The Luxanna tower stands to promote progress and unity in humanity. This Impostor Epidemic is another challenge that we shall overcome together. We shall not falter, and we shall not yield to the darkness seeking to engulf us. I have faith in our people, in our collective will to overcome adversity. Together, we will prevail. We shall light the way through this darkness and reclaim the brilliance that is Lumina Pri-

Alexa squished Vee's arm. She pulls her back to the kitchen, away from the boys. Their shared smile held a history, a bond woven through trials.

"See? You don't have to be Scarlet Serpent anymore, Vee! Let them handle this, please..."

Vee's smile slowly faded. Alexa tightened her grip on Vee's hand. "Vernadette, please. Drop the vigilantism; you have us."

"It's not over."

"Yes it is, baby Vee. It's public; let them solve this case."

"You don't understand..."

"Yes I do. Stop this, please? For me? This is your ticket to escape, this is for you too."

.

.

.

"Do you?"

.

.

.

Vernadette removed Alexa's hand, her gaze unwavering.

"I don't WANT to escape, Lex. I want to end this once and for all..."

Alexa glimpsed the hunger in Vee's eyes before she turned away, a silent plea for understanding.

"Yeah, but you can help witho-"

"I don't-want- to hear it, Alex. The opportunity is here; I am NOT letting it go."

Alexa crossed her arms and frowned, her concern etched on her face.

Broadcast: "To those Impostors who may be listening, hear this: We do not seek annihilation, but we demand that you reveal yourselves and cease your deceitful ways. Surrender, and we shall work toward a peaceful resoluti-"

Damien turns off the video in his phone, finishes his beer and throws it away. He sighs a cold breath, before heading down the lonely road. The only one that he had ever known. It's only him, and he walks alone. On this empty street, thick fog, flickering street lights, he walks alone, he walks alone. His eyes zoom from side to side, scanning the homeless peeps on the streets. Mobsters roaming representing different insignias eyed him as he passed by, he paid no attention. For those who howled his name and cheered, he gives them a quick brow raise with a smirk.

"Fuck me... Really... First the Scarlet Serpent hunting me down, Second demons infesting the city... I should've never moved here..." Slap his own head, fuck, shake head.

Damien comes to a halt in front of a dilapidated shop, the flickering neon sign reading "Jo-el-n's" missing a few letters. He stares at it, taking a moment to collect himself, before pushing through the entrance. Dingaling~

Inside, a disheveled woman with a messy ponytail is slumped over the counter with diverse lighter designs, drooling. Damien clears his throat, prompting her to wake abruptly. He raises his hands, silently urging for calm, and she heads down again with a sigh. Damien leans on the counter, locking eyes with her.

"Jocelyn... Baby..."

"You've been out cheating? Where the fuck have you been now?"

Damien's expression tightens. He kept his lips close, trying to maintain composure. "I'm out there hustling, trying to get paid! What's WRONG with YOU?"

"Oh, really? Show me the money, then."

Damien smacks his teeth, hands on his waist, and turns away.

"What?"

"The initiation went wrong..." Damien starts, but Jocelyn cuts in, "See? You've done NOTHING but drag us down. What the fuck did you do with the five hundred I gave you?"

Damien turns around, and Jocelyn pulls his collar, forcing his mouth open and pushing him away.

"You are so useless, you DRUNK FUCK! I swear, Damien. I SWEAR!" Damien snaps, "HOW CAN I NOT?! In THIS situation?!" Jocelyn throws a muffin at Damien, "YOU put us here!"

Damien shakes his head, strolling through the shop. Jocelyn follows him on the other side of the counter.

"I'm out here grinding this stupid business just to touch the paradise YOU promised ME!"

Damien tries to ignore her, but she speaks louder and shouts into his ears.

"I wasn't supposed to do... this?! To feel like this?! You're the reason I lost friends and family. Damn it, I miss my mom! My dad!" Jocelyn starts to tear up. Damien kicks a chair, "Go ahead! Wreck this place more! You just make everything worse!"

"FUCK YOU, JOCELYN!"

"FUCK YOU, DAMIEN!"

"You don't know what dangers I put myself out there just to ge-" "No, you just have a MAAASIVE ego that shouldn't even exist! Talking about some mobster shit, IT'S ALL BULLSHIT. YOU don't rule the STREETS, Damien. Get that to your stupid head!". Damien pulls out his gun. Jocelyn stumbles back toward the fridge.

.

.

.

.

"FUCK!, Fuck me..." he shouts before throwing the gun away.

.

.

.

"I just... I just want out of this... I don't want to struggle anymore..." Damien enters the counter. Jocelyn starts to whimper, looking out the window. He hugs her from behind.

.

"Look... I'll find a way..." Jocelyn chuckles. "That's what you always say..." He tightens his arms around her hips, she scootches to fit in him.

.

.

.

"You and me."

.

"No. Us, Damien. Stop separating; we should be a team."

As they stand entwined in the dimly lit, despair-laden shop, the flickering neon sign outside casts an eerie glow, magnifying the shadows of regret on Damien's face. Jocelyn's eyes, still moist with tears, search his gaze for a hint of sincerity.

.

.

.

Damien breaks the heavy silence, his voice barely a whisper, "This dance, how are you not tired of it." He pulls her closer, fingers tracing the scars on her wrist, a silent acknowledgment of the pain they've both endured.

.

.

Jocelyn, her mascara smeared, nods slowly. "No one hates me like you do. No one loves me like you do. This dance is special to us, unique..." She wipes away a tear. DINGALING! The two broke up and fixed themselves. They waited behind the counter for the two men to sit down.

"Just a quick break, we still have five other districts for today." Fixes his neck tie.

"This is what's wrong with you, you don't trust, brother! This is the bomb, let me tell you."

Jocelyn pulls up the straps of her sagging sundress, "How can I help you two?", then picks up an old shirt to wipe fog off the glass.

Bald-headed guy looks down at her melons and wiggles his jaw, flapping his gums.

"Blblblblb, Mama-Mia..." Damien stared him down, hand on his Deagle.

Guy with long hands slaps the neck of muscular lil guy.

"Durt! Show some respect for the lady! We're in her house!"

Jocelyn just continues to clean the counter, "I've heard worse." Damien's brows crunches, "Don't mean you should let them."

Durt hops off the chair and waddles to our guy, Damien opens his coat like a window, subtly showing the gun he's gripping. Lil muscy guy's eyes widens.

"Woah brother, no need for that. I just want to apologise."

Long hands guy leans on the counter and shows Jocelyn his name tag, "Marc".

"Nice to meet you, my name is Marc, that small guy over there, Durt. We're part of Duck's campaign staff. Ever heard of him?"

"No, I haven't."

"You see, brother, it is in our instinct, as men, to have an eye for something good. That's how we know which mushrooms will kill us, and which won't."

"And that justifies you staring at a woman's bre-" Durt leans on Damien, Damien nudges him away. "That's not the point, brother. It's about opportunity!"

Marc pops up a hologram picture of Duck at the plaza in front of a crowd after the Luminary's speech earlier that day.

"After the incompetence of the government, the very disappointing speech of Lysandra, and now she herself revealed that the government is keeping secrets from us this whole time, Mr. Duck, Ducky, I call him, decided that enough is enough. Don't you feel that way?"

Jocelyn tilts her head, "We... We get by..."

Durt starts jumping, flexing his muscles, and circling his hands as if he's creating a black hole.

"Chance is RIGHT there, and I TOOK IT! I TOOK IT! You know who also took the opportunity?"

Marc and Durt exchanged glances for a split-second before both chanting "Duck Joey for Luminary! He's here to fight for everybody!"

Damien and Jocelyn are speechless, don't know what in the actual fuck is going on.. Durt finger bangs Marc, "DUCKEY!!!" "DUCKEY!!!"

"SAY! SAY SO! HEAR SAY? HELL NO! Tell me, you two, What do you do for money?"

Jocelyn starts to smile, "Well, we've got this smokers business. It's not doing well these days..." Durt screams out loud, his head so red it looks like the tip of a penis, "PERFECTO!! HERE WE GO!!"

Marc slams his phone on the counter, "I WONDER!", Durt dry humps the air, "YES, I WONDER!!!"

Jocelyn starts to laugh, Damien smiles at the sight of her brightening up.

"HOOOOOOOONEYYYYYY! WHAT DO YOU DO FOR MONEY?! SMOKERY? Brikit! Here's an opportunity! Will you take it?"

"It depends, I don't really-"

"A thousand a day."

Jocelyn looks at Damien. Durt elbows him, "Whatchu gonna do?"

"Up to you, Joce. I'll support you, regardless."

She giggles, "Okay!" Then kisses Damien.

Marc and Durt howls in celebration. Jocelyn hugs Damien, he kisses her forehead.

"Pretty lady, you will be doing yourself, and your community a service! How's your social media presence?"

"I used to have a following, but-"

"WHAT A WASTE!"

"No, Durt. Don't say that. Here's what we're going to do..."

Marc, Durt, Jocelyn and Damien all circled up, all looking down at the phone Marc is holding up. BART KICKS THE STORE DOOR DOWN-HIT THE CIGAR, AND LOOK AT THE FOUR. Marc and Durt had dagger for eyes pointed at the dead man.

"I'm Back in Black, mofokuh."
