"Hi there, how much for one of those buns?"

Xiao called out the shop keeper who's selling the buns and was expecting a cheerful answer from him.

"I'm sorry, sir, can you speak in Bergan language."

The shop keeper has a troubled expression as he was asking Xiao.

"No I can't, sorry, I don't know how to speak in Bergan language."

(Bergan? Alright, so it's the name of a language in this world.)

Xiao answered the shop keeper while taking a note in his mind on the new info he had just learnt from the shop keeper.

The shop keeper looked more troubled as he starts sweating and says:

"I'm sorry, sir, but I don't understand what you're trying to say."

"Excuse me?"

Xiao was taken back by the answer of the shop keeper, thinking that he might say his words too fast for the shop keeper to fully understand his sentence, he asked the shop keeper the same question one more time, but this time, he says one word at a time in a slow pace.

"I'm truly sorry, sir, I don't understand your language, which country are you from? I will find a person who can translate your language."

(No way! That's impossible, then why can I understand his language? Every words that he had said was understood by me in the language I know. Unless...don't tell me, he is speaking in Bergan language with me all along?! That's the only explanation I can think of in this bizarre situation. What's going on here? Damn it! Lars didn't explain anything to me at all!)

Xiao tried communicating with hand sign, he waves his hand and smiles politely to the shop keeper to indicate that he is not interested in buying the buns anymore, he then turns around and was about to make a dash, but the shop keeper had blocked his path with his arm, as if he was not letting his precious customer to escape by beaming out a friendly smile to Xiao.

"It's okay, sir, I'll call out people who knows your language, judging by your appearance, you must be from the Kingdom of Dong, right? Then you must be speaking in Karan language."

(Karan? What the hell is that? Another name for a language in this world? So this Kingdom of Dong speaks in Karan language, okay. By the way, let me go! You money lover.)

"Hello! Anyone here know how to speak in Karan? Anyone here is from the Dong kingdom? I need a translator!"

The shop keeper was raising his voice, shouting for help to people walking around the area, which attracted some attention from the others.

(Shit! Just great, and here I thought I'm buying food and have a pleasant mealtime later, never knew I would make such a scene. I need to find a chance to run away!)

"Umm, hello there, if I may."

Just when Xiao's back was sweating in anxious as he trying to find the chance to escape, and the shop keeper kept shouting around for help while also keeping an eye on Xiao as not to let his precious customer escape, a voice suddenly calls out behind Xiao. It was a soft and feminine voice.

Both Xiao and the shop keeper trace the source of the voice, and their eyes stopped at a person who's half a head shorter than Xiao. That person was wearing a maroon cloak with a big hoody that covered most of the head, so the face was hidden, except for the small pinkish lip that is visible.

(Judging from the body figure and voice, plus the brown long boot, some small bag strapped around the belt and carrying a middle size bag, I think this person might be a girl who's a merchant. It was a default fashion for someone who's a merchant, in the MMORPG I used to played.)

"Oh! Thank you, so can you help me translate what he said?"

The shop keeper sparks with joy as he turns to the merchant looking girl and asked for help.

"Alright, I'll give it all I can!"

The merchant girl replied the shop keeper with a nervous and serious tone as if she has been given an important task to do.

The merchant girl prepared herself as she took a few deep breaths before she walks to Xiao and nervously starts to talk to him.

"Umm....well, hi there, please speak so I can translate?"

(Oh man, more people got involved, just great, and you think you can understand my language, even though its from another world. Guess I should just quickly get away from here to avoid matter getting more messier.)

"Ahaha...It's alright, it's alright, I will be leaving now."

Xiao made a faint smile to the person, which he can't see the face clearly as that person was wearing at big hoody that covered the face, and Xiao was ready to walk away anytime sooner.

"He said it's alright, he will be leaving now."

The person translates exactly what Xiao had just said just now to the shop keeper.

"What?! You understand what I'm saying?"

Xiao stopped his next step of leaving as he turns to the person with a shocking expression.

"He is shocked that I understand what he is saying."

Once again, that person translate precisely on what Xiao was saying a moment ago.

(Who is this Person? How the hell did he...or is it a she, know what I am saying? And what's up with the people that gathered around us?!)

Xiao was a guy that hates being in the spotlight of a crowd, as he will get nervous and embarrass, which causes him to sweat uncontrollably while thinking of how to escape from the situation. And this time was even worse because he was surrounded by different kind of people, literally, there's the people with racoon tail and ear, a young kid who has a long ear and silky hair, and a bulky looking man who's also very short in height.

Thinking that it would be best to buy the buns and get over with it, Xiao decided to ask the merchant girl to help him translate his question.

"In that case, please help me to ask him how much are those buns, and I want two of it."

Right after Xiao told the merchant girl to help him translate the question to the shop keeper, which once again, she did exactly as Xiao told, which the shop keeper replied. Those buns were called Starberry buns, and it was 5 copper coins for one.

Just when the shop keeper had finished telling them the price, Xiao has already prepared the exact amount of the money and was about to give them to the shop keeper.

"What? Sir, you understand what I'm saying?"

"Haha...."

Xiao chuckled awkwardly from the comment of the shop keeper, he then stuck a piece of copper coin into the shop keeper's hands, received two pineapple bun from him, and quickly move away from his shop.

Before leaving, Xiao turns to the person that helps him translated his words, he then proceeds to put one of the pineapple buns into the person's hand.

"Here, take it."

"Huh?"

The person was confused by the sudden act of Xiao. Nevertheless, the merchant girl took the pineapple bun from Xiao, she was wearing a black glove that covered her hand.

"As a token of gratitude for what you did. Well then, see you!"

Immediately, Xiao runs as fast as he could and leave the area in a blink of an eye.
