I also have a new story up on Scribble Hub named the Age of Metal! I will have it ported to RR in a couple of weeks, once I get the kinks worked out and make it as good as I possibly can.

Ferrarus was humming away as he was hammering the metal into shape. I was sitting in the corner reading my screen since I got a peculiar notification.

Enough godlings have come into existence to classify as a new and unique race.

Title earned:

King of the Gods: Since you walk the path of godhood, you have brought into existence beings that can manipulate divine mana. You stand at the apex of all your creations. This title is always visible to all gods and godlings on all of your planets and is transferred upon your death. +50 creation points

Well, that was unexpected. What are godlings? I sent a mental message to Helios asking about it while I read through some more stuff on my menu. A few moments later, Helios replied to me, “Godlings are minor gods. They are very weak, at least compared to us. They are essentially a being that is composed of an idea that is given life through faith.”

That was new to me. But that was also interesting; at least this way, I would not have to worry about making more to oversee things, though the downside is that they are not inherently loyal to me, so there was always that. I sent Helios a reply and told him to gather the godlings in the throne room before I left for the simulation. I will try and nip that problem in the bud before it even begins.

I shifted my attention from the screen and back to the forge. Ferrus held up a finely crafted blade to observe it. It was a blade that had no guard or hilt and had a slight curve from one end of the blade to the other. The metal was a muted rainbow-like color, almost as if it was dipped in oil and placed under faint light. It was one seamlessly crafted blade that hummed with a deadly passion and had no visible marks on it. It indeed was a beautiful blade. I tore my attention away from what he was doing and back to my screen.

I guess while I was waiting, I could plan out what my artifact would be. I wanted two of them at the moment. I want one to place somewhere on the world for someone to find, and then the other to Ziva. After all, she is undertaking the Everchosen questline and deserves some sort of item. I mean, it would be the least I could since I forced the quest on her. I looked through the menu and saw that I could create a drawing pad. That was weird, I didn’t know this was a thing, but then again, I haven’t delved too far into the menus to know, just the basics. But this should help me immensely, especially since I can organize my thoughts instead of being scattered.

I drew a one and then a parenthesis next to it. Alright, for the first artifact that I will put on the planet. I crossed my arms and pulled my legs up to my chest and felt my thighs brush against my chest. It felt odd having a pair of breasts, but it was something I was growing used to. Maybe once I get some more creation points saved up, I’ll create a new host form. Probably a male this time to balance out, but I will figure out the race later. Back to what I was doing!

What would be a useful artifact? Should I do a weapon? Some armor? Or something incredibly basic and unassuming? Oh, the choices. I stared at my screen for a bit and hummed softly to my self. I couldn’t decide honestly. I was just really excited to be able to do work on something like this. I idly drew and thought it over. Dozens of different options went through my head before I finally landed on something. I think for my first item, I will do a pendant. It was small, simple, and it could be rather unassuming, depending on how it looks afterward. I drew a quick sketch of the material that would hold up the artifact first before anything else. But what would I use? Some metal? I brought up a list of the metals that have been discovered so far and scrolled through it. It was all your typical stuff, gold, silver, steel, and a few special ones that stuck out, much like soul steel and my newly created slip steel.

None of it looked too appealing, so I decided to go with gold. I mean, you really can’t go wrong with it. I labeled it as gold and then thought over the design. What should I use? Maybe a teardrop will work best. As I mulled the idea over, I grew to enjoy it a lot. Yes, I like this. I quickly scribbled the idea down and looked through the list of materials. I think I will go with a precious stone this time. I brought another list and looked through it. A lot of this list had the same stuff as the earth did. Sapphires, diamonds, and emeralds, and dozens of others that were familiar to name a few. But I wanted something unique to this planet. I scrolled through the list, and after a while, I finally found what I was looking for. A batch of stones that were unique to Ouradia. Let’s take a look and see what they have.

Lytharium: A matte grey stone that is often associated with wolves. In the moonlight, it glows a soft grey and is often coveted by nobles for its beauty, regardless of its ill omen. Usually found deep within forests near trees.

Radiate: A golden yellow jewel that is often found near concentrations of light mana. This jewel can store light mana very quickly and is a fairly common stone to find.

Wraithrock: A stone that has been changed due to the absorption of Ethereal mana. This can happen to any rock and is not restrained to any specific one. It is an uncommon gem and has no real benefit other than appearance.

Oceanite: A sea blue gem that is found deep within the ocean. This is a very rare gem and is known to be darker than its cousin, the sapphire. This gem represents a boundless vitality and life, much like the oceans its found in.

These gems seem interesting, and like they would be decent to use. Lytharium seems like a decent pick, but the others looked good at well. I can go ahead and cross off Radite since it doesn’t have a place, at least in this artifact. Wraith rock was also taken off of the list. It was something that was better suited for a more ghostlike artifact. That just left me with Lytharium and Oceanite. I looked at both of their pictures and eventually decided to go with Oceanite. It just seemed like it was better suited for what I wanted.

I labeled the teardrop as Oceanite and saved the drawing, and made a new sketch. This was going to be an artifact that I would Ziva, though since it was a gift, I did not want to make it extraordinarily powerful, cause that would defeat the purpose of her quest. But something unique to the quest would be nice. She joined the adventure guild, so let’s make something that would benefit her there. I already have Ferrarus making weapons, and I just made a piece of jewelry as an artifact. Maybe a piece of clothing would be nice, but what do adventures use the most?

Could I do a shirt? Maybe not, that seems a little cliche. Boots? No, that wouldn’t work either. I wanted something that could give her some utility. I thought it over and eventually decided to settle on a cloak. It would be an excellent pick and something that an Adventure would always have a use for.

I drew a quick sketch of it and then started to look through the list of material I could use for it. Dozens of materials existed to choose between, ranging from silk, cotton, all the way to exotic silk from a legendary spider that only spins a web once every hundred years. Naturally, however, I did not want to use something common, not for something of the scale that I am planning on. I went ahead and crossed off the common materials and started to look through the exotic list.

Silk of the Brobdingnagian cave spider: A rare silk that is only made once every one hundred years when the spider awakens from its slumber. Once it acquires enough food, it goes back to hibernation for another century. It has often shown mire at having to rebuild its web each time it awakens. The silk is four times stronger than other silk from spiders of the magical variant, which in turn is twice as strong as steel.

Wool of the Herculean Sheep: A wool that comes from a magical variant of sheep that exist in the most remote of places on Ouradia. The wool itself has a strange proprietary of being able to maintain the temperature around it and had a strong defensive nature. The sheep itself was docile and often pacifistic by nature.

Plant fiber from the Eravisian Man-Eater: A fiber that comes from a magical plant that is known to devour sapient beings larger than it’s self. It is only found in the large expanses of rainforest that permeate Ouradia. It is not an uncommon material. It is just hard to come by.

The first three options seemed interesting enough. Let’s see what else they have before I make my final choice on the matter.
