Chapter 12: Heaven Dou City

Yu Yuanzhen didn't think too much about it; visiting the capital of the Heaven Dou Empire seemed like a good idea. Having Tiankong along for a tour would ensure that people would show respect to Yu Yuanzhen when they encountered Tiankong in the future.

"Good, it’s also an opportunity to check on how Tianheng, that little guy, is doing since he went to the Tian Dou Royal Academy," Yu Yuanzhen commented.

Yu Tianheng and Yu Tianxin, known as the "Thunder Twins," were the twin stars of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. This nickname was inspired by the Haotian Sect, where Tang Xiao and Tang Hao were originally called the Haotian Twins, both eventually becoming Titled Douluos.

From the titles given to Yu Tianheng and Yu Tianxin, it's clear that the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan had high hopes for them. However, with Tiankong’s exceptional talents emerging, the achievements of the twins seemed less significant.

After graduating from the Thunderclap Junior Soul Master Academy, Yu Tianheng, wanting to shed the label of the Thunder Twins, ventured alone to the Tian Dou Royal Academy.

"Grandpa, are we going to make fun of brother Tianheng?" Tiankong asked innocently.

Yu Yuanzhen: "..."

Indeed, wasn’t that the plan? It would have been better for Yu Tianheng to stay in the Thunderclap Academy. Given the academic atmosphere at the Tian Dou Royal Academy, could he really focus on his cultivation?

After suggesting Tiankong attend the Tian Dou Royal Academy, Yu Yuanzhen somewhat regretted his words, relieved that Tiankong had ultimately declined.

The Tian Dou Royal Academy was seen as a place for foolish nobles with no real combat prowess—a setting Yu Yuanzhen disdained. Having fought through countless life and death battles to achieve his status and strength, he hoped Yu Tianheng would remember the glory of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan even in such a sheltered environment.

After all, he was his grandson, and Yu Yuanzhen had great expectations for him.

"Right, we need to give him a good shock, to show him what real effort in cultivation means!" Yu Yuanzhen nodded subtly.

"It’s strange. Part of the reason Yu Tianheng went to the Tian Dou Royal Academy was under the directive of Grandpa and Yu Luomian."

"The goal was to court Dugu Yan, thereby drawing a wild Titled Douluo into our fold. If we could bring Dugu Bo into the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, our strength would skyrocket, placing us on par with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan and Haotian Sect, openly boasting dual Titled Douluos."

Both the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan publicly claimed a few Titled Douluos, but that was about it. Haotian Sect, however, would boast more Titled Douluos than both clans combined in just over a decade, including Tang Hao.

"Perhaps they haven’t yet thought this through?"

Tiankong mused correctly.

For now, Yu Yuanzhen and others weren’t focusing much on Yu Tianheng’s actions; he was free to do as he wished. They weren’t even considering scheming against Dugu Bo.

If not for Tiankong's emergence, perhaps they would indeed undertake such actions.

Yu Tianheng was a year younger than Yu Tianxin and about six years older than Tiankong.

This meant Tiankong was about the same age as Tang San...

With a destination in mind, Yu Yuanzhen and Tiankong hastened their pace.

Along the way, with Yu Yuanzhen’s formidable presence, they encountered no trouble.

After about twenty days of travel, the duo arrived at Heaven Dou City, dusty and weary.

"Please pay one gold soul coin as an entrance fee."

This statement wasn’t directed at Tiankong and Yu Yuanzhen but at others attempting to enter Heaven Dou City ahead of them.

Chapter 12, Section 012: Heaven Dou City

The man seemed unconcerned, casually pulling out a gold soul coin and placing it on the table before confidently walking into Heaven Dou City.

For the residents of Heaven Dou City, a mere gold soul coin was hardly a significant amount.

Soon, it was Yu Yuanzhen and Tiankong's turn to be inspected. The guard took notice of their attire and was momentarily taken aback.

Disciples of a sect typically wore their sect's uniform, representing their identity.

Such attire was not something anyone would dare to fake. If discovered, it would lead to relentless retribution.

Powerful sects had no need to disguise themselves, and weaker ones dared not. Thus, such traditions had evolved.

Yu Yuanzhen and Tiankong looked travel-worn, but their garments were clearly valuable.

Mostly made from the scales of a blue-scaled armor beast, their clothing also bore the emblem of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan!

The token issued by the Spirit Hall also featured the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's emblem, showcasing that dragon...

"Greetings to the soul masters from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan! Please, enter the city!"

After realizing who they were, the guard quickly spoke respectfully.

They knew whom they could offend and whom they couldn't.

Could they afford to offend the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, known for having the world's number one beast spirit? Certainly not.

Moreover, this elder clearly was no ordinary member; within the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, he must hold a significant position.

Pleased with this recognition, Yu Yuanzhen nodded in satisfaction and led Tiankong into Heaven Dou City.

This was a privilege granted by the imperial royal family to major sects, not only in the Heaven Dou Empire but also in the Star Luo Empire.

After Yu Yuanzhen and Tiankong had walked away, one of the guard's colleagues couldn't help but ask, "Captain, just because they are from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, they don't have to pay the entry fee? Isn't that unfair?"

Hearing this, the captain looked at his subordinate as if he were a fool.

How did such a person get assigned to guard the city gate?

Were they really being bullied?

It was a privilege willingly given by the empire! For one of the top three sects, if they had to pay an entry fee just to enter the city, would they have a favorable impression of the empire? They could easily switch allegiances to another empire...

Besides, was the empire really short of those two gold soul coins, or was it the sect that needed them? This was about face!

Foolish, ignorant, beyond help!

"Tomorrow, no, report back to the recruit camp right now. Come back when you've understood the imperial laws," the captain said expressionlessly.

"Captain, why is this necessary?"

"I'm saving you. If you stay here, you won't even know how you might end up dead..."

Most importantly, it didn't matter if this man died; what mattered was that he didn't drag the rest of them down!

"???"

The guard looked around and saw his teammates staring at him as if he were a fool. At that moment, he grew a lot.

"Yes, sir!"

Later, after the guard fully understood the imperial laws, he realized that the captain had indeed been saving him!

Heaven Dou City, the main city of the Heaven Dou Empire, was also one of the most prosperous cities on the entire Douluo Continent.

The Heaven Dou Empire, more indulgent than the Star Luo Empire, had its reasons for Heaven Dou City being more "prosperous" than Star Luo City.

However, the military strength of the Star Luo Empire was something the Heaven Dou Empire couldn't match.

"Tiankong, the atmosphere in Heaven Dou City is too lax..."
