Come on man. Just a little shagai shoot.
Yeah, assuming that he wouldn’t kick my ass as soon as he got up.
How strong is this guy? Even if he was weak, it would be a dick idea to stab a person’s back who was so kind to me.
It can’t be helped... Kind ones are destined to lose in this world.

Bold sighed and looked down. His mind was a jumble. Divided into a dozen pieces it could not relax.

“Hey, Bold. You getting tired already?”

“K-kinda”

Mikhail quickly typed on his wristboard. Brimming with blue light, four gentlemen with black suits appeared around Mikhail. The two of them ran towards Bold. Both Bold and Mikhail loosened the ropes that were wrapped around their back and gave the cargo to the men. They skillfully grabbed hold of the boxes and went along the road.

“Ahh, that’s much better” said Mikhail with relief.

Instead of scheming behind him, Bold finally decided to walk next to Mikhail. The two of them walked side by side without uttering a single word. But soon Bold ended up starting a conversation.

“I still can’t believe we’re in a death game. I only saw something like this in video games and anime”.
“Yeah, it’s truly a strange world. Never would have guessed I would get wrapped in something like this” said Mikhail.

Bold noticed something. The things that he was saying. The voices that came out of his mouth. And the movements of his mouth itself.

It's not syncing at all. There is no lip sync. It's almost like watching a badly dubbed anime.

“Umm, Mikhail. Did you learn English back when you were young? You sound pretty fluid” said Bold softly. He didn't exactly want to point out the awkward lip-syncing.

“No, My English ain’t very good”

“Really? Then how are you talking like this?”

“Didn’t you know? The gamemaster specifically told us that English will be the main language in this game before I entered the game”.

“I’ve never heard about this. Maybe she told the others but not me. And how is English being the main language have anything to do with you being so fluent?” asked Bold.

“See, I’m not actually talking in English. More like everything I’m saying is translated to English and everything I’m hearing is translated to Russian”.

“You serious?”

“Yeah, the gamemaster did say that he installed a program that automatically translates any language spoken to English and vice versa if you don’t speak English”

“Well, that's a relief” said Bold optimistically.

“Tell me about it”

“How much work and budget was spent to create this world? Lots of game developers have experimented with 3D headsets. And created a lot of hit games. But not on this level. And it doesn’t have any strain on the eyes too” said Bold enthusiastically.

“Too bad all of this is being used for someone’s sick and twisted death game” said Mikhail with a moody expression.

Bold could do nothing but nod. Mikhail looked at the sky as he was walking.

“Virtual Judgement. He said I am god. It’s funny, really. As if the judgment day for humanity has arrived or something” said Mikhail with a smirk

“Wait...did you say, he? She was clearly a she".

Bold even remembered how the girl's beauty was out of this world. How fragile and kind she looked. And how devilish and sinister she became afterward.

"Oh? When I woke up I met a middle-aged man who told me that I was partaking in a death game" said Mikhail.

Hmm, perhaps that bitch may have the ability to shapeshift and can change into different genders...wait wouldn't that mean I almost had sex with a...oh god.

Bold shook the horrible idea off of his head and asked:

“Hey, Mikhail. Did he say something about your life and your relatives? The female gamemaster knew about my mother as well as the lifestyle that I lived with”.

“Oh, yeah. He knew about that. He referenced how I often slack off and didn’t go to school to have a proper education to help my country or some bullshit. Trying to justify the reason they kidnapped me or something. I have to admit, his attempts were very pathetic”

“How did he even know about our past?”.

“Well, the entire earth is being monitored by satellites and dozens of security cameras. Not to mention all our monetary gains and losses are recorded digitally. It wouldn’t be too hard to get info on anyone these days”.

The two of them became silent again. But Bold realized that he had forgotten to ask what is probably the most important question.

“Have you found any way to gain gold? Our lives are depending on getting those yet we’re just doing missions for a few measly paper”

“Chill, dude. Don’t worry about the future and just carry the cargos. There will be plenty of time to do research on that. In fact, with the three months of living here, I did do research”.

“What is the result…of your research?”

“I found out that there are many ways. Aside from robbing people with gold, you could try to take on the dungeons, Doom arenas. Or become a soldier of the king or a member of an organization”

“Soldier of the king? That sounds kinda awesome”

But hearing his opinion Mikhail knitted his eyebrows.
