After checking the favorites and the readers new special pages were growing and Book-San was getting ticker.

They kept growing but there was no more space.

BOOM!!!

With an explosion of paper, all the new pages scattered away, and a new message appeared

No more space on book drive

Congratulations !!!

Book-San: What congratulations!? This is bad!!! I can't have more special pages!

All your readers have been converted into the stat Effectiveness.

The number of special pages is not connected to your readers anymore but you can create and destroy special pages as you like.

Book-San: This is amazing, I won't have to worry about the mana expenses when using my skills.

Book-San felt a new emotion. He wanted to fight, to prove his presence to the world.

Book-San: "Will"

Will was staring intensely at his fist: "This power is what I needed. If I can level up a bit and learns some new techniques. I can go back. He is using Meg. She did so much for me. I want to destroy that bastard.

Book-San, I'm sorry for being so selfish."

Will will not be sticking with Book-San forever. He had his own story. But Book-San was not worried. If anything happened, if they ever became enemies, Book-San could cancel the contract and Will's power will be gone.

But there was something about Will. Book-San felt that even without power, Will could become a terrible foe.

Book-San: "I won't stop you, I also have some questions to ask the archmage. But before that, will you help me meet up with Thorn and Rose?"

Will's mood brightened: "Of course. You are my savior and I want to meet them too."

Book-San: "I sent a message to Thorn but he is not answering for some reason. Now that I have more mana I can use this more freely. Will, hold me tightly."

[Anti-Gravity Talisman] activated

Will felt his body lose weight for an infinitesimal moment. Then felt countless hands were pulling him up. The ground suddenly disappeared. The green walls of the labyrinth felt stretched. Like an endless green tunnel. His body was compressed.

He was like a bulled shooting towards the sky and the labyrinth was the gun barrel.

In the sky, an azure plate suddenly appeared. In moments he would crash. He will become a red point on an azure wall. The death of a fly.

"I won't!!!"

Will took his knife and made a wide slash towards the plate. As if the knife was a sword. A bit of mana seeped out of his hands and tried to go to the point of the knife but ultimately dispersed as if it couldn't find what it was looking for.

The move ultimately amounted only to a gust of wind and did not reduce their speed at all.

A moment later Will saw the plate close to his face.

A second later Will could still see the plate: "We did not crash?" He wondered.

Book-San was panting: "We... we, made it. That was scary. Is it because of the effectiveness stat? The talisman became much more powerful. We had 2, no maybe 10 times the gravitational acceleration of the planet. It was truly, scary, fortunately, I managed to control it in the end."

To them it had looked like the groud disappeared, the plates appeared, and the walls stretched. But to people looking from the ground, it would look like Book-San and Will disappeared. It was that fast. If Book-San learned how to use it well it could become a fearsome weapon.

From the upside-down world, they could see the labyrinth more clearly. It was not entirely flat but was getting higher towards the center. As if from 2d it became 3d. A higher-order of complexity.

In a similar fashion to the other parts of the crash sites, it seemed like the labyrinth was made of concentrical circles. But they seemed too well arranged.

Book-San "Is it really a labyrinth or some sort of alien circuit?"

Then Book-San noticed something: "Oh, that looks similar to the spot Thorn drew on the map."

It was a faraway point, in one of the outer circles.

So a book and a slightly fat boy kept jumping from a plate to another.

Below a particular plate, there was a group of monsters that looked like lions attacking a person from the neutral faction. The person was on the ground and could feel the stinking breath of the monster. "Will I die here?"

That is what the person thought when an object fell from the sky.

BOOM

A monster head rolled on the ground. Will helped the person get up and jumped back to the sky.

There were more people to help, more monsters to defeat, and more EXP to get.

That's how the story of the flying man with a knife and the book spread.

As they leveled up the aura around Will's blade grew but still had no useful effects.

A few hours later Will was walking on top of a wall, the sun was a bit above the horizon. Looking from above gave them a different perspective. There were some truly strange creatures living in the labyrinth.

Now they had encountered one of them.

With a rumbling sound, they felt the earth shake. Then they saw a mass of brown fur rolling in a corridor. It was as big as the corridor. When it passed to their side they heard a growl and a pawn came towards them.

Book-San inverted their gravity and they managed to evade.

Will: "Is that a bear?"

The animal had stopped rolling and they could see it really looked like a bear but its size was on a different scale.

Book-San could see some information because of the old skill Narrator: "It is called Marukumo. Do you want to fight it? Be careful. Its hide is pretty tough."

Will: "I feel like I can improve my skills if I fight it, but I need your help to get me out of the way if my hits are infective."

Book-San: "Of course, let's do this together."

Will jumped in the middle of the corridor and pointed his knife at the giant marukumo: "Come here if you want to be my whetstone."

The marukumo, furious, growled and started rolling towards them.

The mana on Will's blade had doubled since the last time he used it.

Will slashed his blade but all that came out was a more powerful gust of wind.

Will: "Not enough"

Book-San activated the Anti-Gravity talisman and brought Will away before they would be rolled over.

Will: "Let's try again."

They tried and tried and tied and tried many times until only a sliver of sun remained on the horizon.

Will was tired but had a smile on his face. The mana on his blade had been steadily increasing.

Will: "Book-San, do not bring us away next time."

Book-San wanted to ask: "Are you sure?" but the confident look in Will's eyes stopped him from asking.

With a growl, the marukuma started rolling again.

Will, in the middle of the corridor, closed his eyes, breathed in, and changed his posture. In his mind, all felt quiet. He couldn't hear the shaking of the earth caused by the gargantuan bear.

As he brought his right feet back to take his stance he could hear the sound of his shoes scratching the dirt. He cold fell the small particles of dust and the small stones that he had moved. He could feel all the dirt around trembling, the small stones jumping up and down and the walls that danced and reflected the sound.

Now all those particles felt like a sea. He pressed down on his left foot. The sea reacted. The waves propagated to the ground, to the green walls, and to the plates above. He had pressed on his foot to balance the strength he put into his arms to raise his knife to the sky.

As the knife was vertical there was resonance. A crash. The wawes crashed on the plates, on the walls, on the ground, and exploded towards him. More precisely towards his knife.

In an instant, faster than a thunderstrike countess rock and dust crashed on his knife. Since it was so fast the pressure and temperature exceeded the one it takes to form a diamond. Rocks pushed on other rocks and the weakest rocks were pushed away.

Will's mana guided the strongest rocks in the form he had imagined. As the dust disappeared a weapon could be seen. It was still hot right now but it would become pitch black.

The weapon was large and long, almost Will's height. It was a bit curved. There were blades on both sides and at the end there was something resembling a hammer with massive weight.

As even that sliver of sun disappeared Will swang the weapon down.

The marubear hit Will but Will's attack also hit the animal.

Some of Will's bones broke but the marubear was killed.

Will, after half an hour managed to heal his bones with cure and exclaimed: "I, I learned the greatest swordsmanship."

Book-San congratulated Will and told him to be more careful while thinking: "So that's what it was. It seems that this weapon suits him. But that's can't be all. Maybe his will is compatible with the technique. That's why it is so strong. Thorn should have the same skill too, did it get stronger too?

He is still not answering the telepathic communication. Something must have happened. It has already been a few hours."

Will: "I noticed an interesting place before. We should check it out. Maybe we can have dinner there."

Some parts of the labyrinth were covered on top. Meaning that Will couldn't walk on the plates to reach them.

The place where Will wanted to go was one of these.

During the way, Will mumbled, "left, right straight as if he knew the way."

The sky was dark and the corridors kept getting tighter and tighter. The top was covered by trees so dense that they couldn't see the sun.

Book-San: "Are you sure this is the way? It looks eerie. How do you know which way to go?"

Will was silent, too immersed in following the road to hear what Book-San said.

"Hahaha" there were some voices.

"Hahaha" a woman's laugh, the kind of laugh you would hear in horror films.

"We shall have a grand dinner."

There were some cobwebs, after passing through them they would arrive where the voice was coming from.

Will felt someone breathing on his neck

"Come, come. I am hungry."

Book-San: "Will, stop. It's a trap. Don't go there." Will put his hands on the cobweb.

Book-San: "Will!!!"

Will did not answer, as if he was possessed. He pushed aside the cobweb and passed through.

Book-San was astounded at what was there, his fears were not unfounded. But he did not expect the situation to be as bad as it was.

...

Some hours before while Thorn's mana was increasing a girl was looking at him.

After Thorn's mana stabilized he noticed her.

She wore black clothes, her outfit was black. The clothes were well made. Thorn was surprised by the number of ornaments she had.

Silver. She had many silver bracelets that were barely visible under her sleeve. Each bracelet was refined. He could see many images on them, even those of dragons. There were also many kinds of pendants attached to the bracelets. Each one was more refined than the other.

She had bracelets both on her wrists and ankles. There was also a chain starting from her left ankle and going up her leg.

That was an unusual ornament he had never seen. He wondered if it had any other use.

That was not the only unusual thing.

She had a necklace with 13 blue stones that felt out of place with the general theme of silver and black.

The girl: "How rude! Stop staring at me. Come on. Let's go!"

Thorn: "Ah! sorry. Wait, where are we going?"

The girl: "To meet my servant, he is in that direction."

Thorn: "Why should I help you?"

The girl responded without hesitation: "Since you are my guard you must protect me."

Thorn: "Ahhh? When did I become your guard?"

The girl: "What, do you want to leave an unarmed young maiden alone?"

Thorn thought: "She is not carrying any weapon and she seems important. But what trouble will I get myself into?"

The girl: "Of course, we will pay you if you can complete the mission."

Thorn: "Fine"

Thorn thought: "I must tell this to Book-San". He was about to initiate the telepathic connection when he felt a suspicious gaze in his direction.

"Is she trying to read my mind? Did she sense the connection?"

Thorn unsheathed his sword, took an attack stance, and said to the girl: "What did you do?"

The girl was surprised: "Ohh, is that the greatest swordsmanship?"

The technique that demon king Gerald invented was supposed to be lost in time and nobody should know about it. How did she know?

Why do I not write more? I did not like how the book started and I did not like the way I wrote.

I am trying to understand what makes a book unforgettable. I want to write a book that will always be a part of you.

I didn't want this book to feel like a waste of time for even one of you.

Now I am more confident in my writing style.

Sorry for the unregular releases. From now on I will post the date of the next chapter.

Chapter 27 will be released on 09/08/2021
