In the end, when Mira was about to mention Minji's reply, she heard from Namtan that Film had changed her mind and was willing to compromise with Mira's arrangements for Namtan's sake.
Mira was speechless, she didn't understand Film's train of thought, but she was sure it was thanks to Namtan. After securing the venue, her secretary had already sent invitations to close friends and long-time business partners.
Those invited, upon reading the invitation, became intrigued. The letter hinted at the true purpose of the so-called "outing," piquing their curiosity about what would happen.
Mira finally breathed a sigh of relief. The red jade ring was finished. From the initial sketches and careful selection of the stone to the precise carving, sanding, and polishing, each step had demanded focus and precision so it really took her too much time but seeing it finally done. Setting the vibrant jade into its platinum band was the final, satisfying touch.
While Mira was busy, Luna, on the other hand, grew colder, getting back to her old habits of skipping meals and working overtime. This terrified and worried those around her, especially at the company. They had witnessed Luna's positive transformation, only to see her revert to her old self.
Film, of course, was aware of this too and like others as a friend she's also worried, so she knocked on Luna's office door during their break.
"Come in,"
Film walked in with a lunch box and closed the door. "Luna,"
Luna looked up from her documents and saw it was Film. "Is something the matter?"
Film lifted the lunch box. "It's lunchtime."
Luna glanced back at her documents. "I'm not hungry, you eat first, I'm going to review this first."
Film smirked and sat comfortably. "Yeah, right... while holding it up and down, huh?"
Luna froze, then she put down the documents and sighed.
"What's wrong with you lately?" Film asked, watching Luna sit opposite her.
"It's Mira."
Film crossed her arms. "I know. What I mean is, what's happening? I often saw her coming here before, but now she seems too busy."
" That's the problem, I have no idea, I don't know what she's up to. Every time I ask, she says it's company matters. She sends messages and calls, but it won't even last longer than before, " Luna said sadly.
"Hmm... if it's just company matters and communication by phone, you wouldn't be so down, you two live together now, right?" Film asked, confused. For her, phone communication isn't a big deal if you live together. "Is there another reason?"
Luna became even sadder and seemed about to cry. "Lately, she's been working overtime, at first I thought it's fine since she's a president and I understand her job well, but doing it often? It is not her style. I asked her assistant, and they said Mira is busy in her workshop and spends most of her time there. I don't want to think too much, but now, even when talking to someone, when someone calls her, she goes out or distance herself from me,"
"Can you still access her phone?" Film seemed to understand Luna's worry and wanted to scold Mira. Although she knew why Mira was busy, making her girlfriend worry was excessive.
"Yes, but I can't see anything suspicious, all her recent calls are from business partners,"
Film breathed a sigh of relief. "Then maybe she's really busy, and maybe there's trouble at her company. Have you asked her if the company has a problem?"
"I did, but she said there's nothing."
Although Film wanted to tell Luna the truth, for the sake of a once-in-a-lifetime memory, she redirected Luna's thinking. "Luna, do you believe what she said? What if there's really a problem, and because she doesn't want you to worry, she avoids you whenever she receives a call? Like you said, it's not her style to work overtime, but now she spends too much time in her workshop and works overtime."
Luna's eyes widened as she considered this perspective. She had been so caught up in her own emotions that she hadn't considered Mira might be having trouble. Without answering Film, she quickly called Mira.
Mira, admiring the ring, put it back in its box and received Luna's call. "Baby, what's wrong?"
"Did you have some trouble at the company that you haven't told me?"
"What? No, why would you think that?" Mira asked, confused.
"Please, don't lie to me. You're working overtime lately and spending a lot of time in your workshop, you also avoid me when you talk to someone. If you don't have a problem at your company, then what?" Luna said, gritting her teeth.
Mira panicked at Luna's anger. "I-it's nothing now, I've already resolved it. Really... I just didn't tell you because you seemed working overtime lately, I didn't want to add to your worries," she said, closing her eyes and silently apologizing to Luna. She realized she had worried Luna but couldn't reveal the truth yet.
"Really?" Luna asked coldly.
Mira put aside the right,"Y-yes," she quickly grabbed her bag and left the company, she can tell how angry Luna is and it's not good to let Luna angry too long
Luna, confirming Film's theory, became angry. " Then good for you," she hung up angrily.
Film, watching, covered her mouth to hide her smirk. 'Mira, don't blame me if you're in trouble now. I just didn't want my friend to be sad for nothing, but it's better for her to be angry since you made a mistake. At least give her an explanation next time.'
"Let's eat?" Film asked.
Luna looked at her phone, Mira was calling, but she ignored it. "Yeah, let's eat."
"You won't answer her call?"
"Let her be, I'll definitely deal with her later."
Film chuckled at her friend's mood swings, from cold to sad to anger. She thought that it would be satisfying to watch Luna deal with Mira if she had a chance. She couldn't imagine Mira having any expression other than cold face, even when Luna said Mira smiled occasionally, she couldn't picture it. Luna had even pointed out Mira smiling when all she saw was a poker face. She thought Luna might just have some filters to Mira.
