10 – Big Game Hunting.
Eve: "Lussa wait!"
After Eve used her aura it did not take her long to catch up to Lussa sweeping her into a hug.
Eve: "You should not rush off alone like that its too dangerous!"
Lussa: "But! Papa is in trouble! Lussa can smell the hurt! Lussa has to make sure Papa is safe!"
Eve: "Show me where he is, after Lussa must promise to go back to the hunter's camp afterward... Trust in your 'miss Cat' to handle this. I am super reliable after all!"
Lussa: "Unn... Lussa Promises..."
Eve: "Good girl!"
Eve brushes hair with her hand as they set off into the woods.
In a clearing a broad-shouldered bearkin of 7 feet in height is waving a large spear at a giant snakehead as it probes his defenses. Other hunters uneasily watch on fear evidenced in their eyes. The man is struggling with his weapon as he holds it with one hand his other arm clearly broken and he carries a fresh wound to his right eye.
Lussa: "Papa!"
Eve: "Remember what I said Lussa you go back to the camp, you can leave this to me!"
Eve rushes out into the clearing and with a strike from her heel sends the snakehead back into the forest.
Eve: "You Lussa's father? you mind looking after her I will handle this!"
A snakehead snaps and catches a hunter off to the side. Kicking off a few trees Eve arrived and extends her claws cutting off the snakehead letting both the hunter and snakehead fall to the ground. Eve helps the hunter up and sends him back to join the other hunters. A few loud *thomps* signals the heavy footfalls as a lizardlike creature with 5 giant snakeheads and one head cut off emerges from the woods. Its severed neck regrows and forms another snakehead head clearly unfazed by the attack earlier.
Bearkin: "Hydra!"
The creature hisses and then swings one of its head to strike at its nearest target the bearkin. Eve activates her aura and sprints to the bearkin sending him flying back to the other hunters who barely catch him. One of the hydra heads smash into Eve sending her flying into a tree.
Hunter: "Ahh!.."
Eve pulls herself off the tree and stretches a feeling a bit sore from the hit. Examining herself she finds a few cuts and bruises from the hit when she looks at one of them instead of bleeding she finds that the bruise is glowing a reddish-orange like a sun that is setting. Within a few seconds the bruises and cuts vanish healing up back to her normal self. It seemed none of the hunters noticed as they were focusing on avoiding the hydra. Taking this chance when the hydra is also distracted Eve focuses her aura and speeds back to the hydra and from ducking position beneath the hydra Eve channeled all her energy to her feet sends it into the air with a high kick leaving everyone stunned.
Eve: "Hurry up and go!"
Eve's eyes turn to face the hunters who give the mystical eyes a stare before accepting that they would just be in the way in this kind of fight. Eve can feel the energy she spent to form the kick recovering at a fast rate. Eve looks up to the sun and within a few seconds she is back to full energy. The hydra stands back up.
Eve: "Don't suppose you would just give up huh?"
the hydra's heads hiss at eve then begin to swing all of its heads at Eve snapping in tandem in a rapid fired rate. Eve heightens her aura improving her reaction rate and speed as she avoids each one following up with a counter at an opportune moment. When Eve spots her opening she leaps up kicking off several hydra heads before smacking the last one with her back heel in an ax-kick. The hydra head that was first hit recovers seeing Eve in the air attempts to strike her. Instinctively Eve kicks off the air as though it were solid. This move surprised both Eve and the hydra. (Eve: "Let's add air-step to my list of growing skills")
The fight continued for an hour neither Eve or the hydra wanting to give in. But there was a clear winner as the hydra's stamina continually drained, Eve's stamina was the same as at the beginning of the fight as the sun continued to brightly shine on Eve refilling her energy. Noticing her chance as the hydra's movements grew sluggish Eve took it to send the hydra on its back with another high kick. She then quickly rushed to a hydra head and after focusing her concentration to the hydra projected an illusion of a stronger hydra challenging it.
The hydra seeing the threat from Eve's Illusion took off into the woods at a quick pace. Eve breathes a sigh of relief.
Lussa: "Miss cat!"
Eve: "Lussa! I told you to go back to the camp!"
Lussa: "Un! Lussa went back to camp then came back with Papa... Lussa was worried."
The grizzled bearkin walked up to Eve, he had received bandages back at the hunters camp now had them covering his injured eye.
Bearkin: "Thank you for the help... My name is Garm. You saved a lot of hunter's lives today, this is not a good place, lets talk back at the camp. We can hardly thank you enough."
Eve: "Alright let's go to the camp. My name is Eve"
