7 – Eve’s Weakness.

Eve stared back at herself in the mirror giving herself a quick glance over in the mirror before taking off her shawl and stitching the opening wider. Eve smiled back at the mirror. her shawl would now show off her new clothes instead of how it used to cover everything.

Eve: "Perfect!"

Talia: "You worked hard! Master, I did not even see you stop to eat during the day... how about I treat you to food upstairs?"

(Eve: "Still have not felt hungry... well a meal could not hurt. Come to thank of it I said I would meet the caravan later. I hope they are not worried.")

Eve: "That sounds wonderful Talia!"

Talia: "Great! follow me master!"

After locking the store and closing for the night, Talia leads Eve past a few mannequins and stacks of cloth to pull down a stairway to the upper floor. While a bit cramped, the upper floor has its own cozy atmosphere. A brick stove lines the western side of the room, a small twin size bed lies to the north, and a table with two chairs on the south wall three foot from the stove. (Eve: "was this room originally an attic?)

A pot rests in the smoldering remains of burning wood in the stove. Talia grabs a ladle beside the pot and takes two bowls from the shelf by the stove and pours the contents into the bowls placing them both on the table. Eve leaped into her seat with a smile which despite taking her full weight the seat did not rock or strain at all giving a false impression that Eve weighed nothing. Talia gave a shocked look before shaking it off. This is hardly the first time Eve's actions stunned her. In Talia's opinion, this is definitely not the most impressive as Eve's 'Overedge Stitch' or her cat embroidery.

The meal was a tasty soup made with rice, vegetables, and herbs. Eve's Excitement went up another level when Talia pulled some dried fish from her larder before adding it into both of their soups. Eve quickly devoured her soup with relish! (Eve: "I wonder if I subconsciously made myself a fish addict! I will have to take up fishing in the future!")

Talia: "Master! where are you staying in the city so that I may visit you later?"

Eve: "Not sure yet! I just arrived in the city today."

Talia: "Ah! Master that will not do at all! None of the Inns accept anyone this late! ...If you do not have a place to stay... Why does not master just stay here! Master can take my bed!"

Eve gives to the small bed then examines the rest of the room. (Eve: "The bed is so small and there are no couches or anything that looks relaxing to sleep on.")

Eve: "I can't do that! You would have nowhere to sleep if I took your bed!"

Talia: "I can sleep on the floor master! It is really no trouble at all!"

Despite staying awake for two days and despite feeling rather tired now, Eve was not tired in the sense of needing to sleep but more in a feeling of general fatigue.

Eve: "Talia! That's no good you definitely have to sleep on your bed! Well as much as I would like to join you in your small bed and use you as a human body pillow, I think ill just go on the roof and do some star gazing for the night! If I feel tired later ill just sleep in your bed after you wake up in the morning."

Talia: "Ba~body pillow!?"

Talia blushed from ear to ear suddenly remembering the feeling of Eve's chest as she was suddenly hugged this morning.

Eve: "I'm off to do my star gazing! See ya in the morning!"

Eve climbed out of the window and onto the roof while grinning to herself as she remembered Talia's flustered face. (Eve: "Have to remember to try using Talia as a body pillow sometime!")

Staring at the moonless night Eve can't help but marvel at how pretty all the stars are. This is the kind of line she would read about in novels back on earth where the protagonist would go to another world and see the stars without all the city lights and marvel at the view. Eve never gave those lines that much thought since she would never cared too much for spending time outdoors before however she couldn't help but feel that they are accurate.

Closing her eyes Eve began to focus her thoughts into a meditative state feeling out her powers. As she poked and prodded she found that her internal energy would slip away like a bar of wet soap. Attempting to grab it a few more times she was barely able to grasp onto her aura and focus it in her hand. Eve's hand felt alive with the energy that rushed through her every pore then after pushing it outward she felt the wind rush away from her palm and push with great force as it flew and impacted against a jar someone had set out on a roof 2 blocks away which moved and rattled before settling down.

Eve: "Am I supposed to be a Str*et Fighter character now!? This is the Legendary H*doken right!?"

Eve began to practice with her 'aura bullet' a few more times until the jar shattered.

Eve ducked down avoiding the gaze of the man who had checked his roof to find his broken jar.

(Eve: "ah! whoops! *whistles* it was not me who broke your jar, sir! definitely not!")

After the man finally left Eve began a new experiment. This time instead of forcing her aura out she kept her aura in and spread it across her body. Feeling the rush of energy all over Eve decided to test it out. Preparing with a dash to the edge of the roof Eve leaped to the next one and another then down into an alley. Sprinting to test her speed she estimated she was sprinting around 200 miles per hour. Eve found that she could even turn on a dime making a 90-degree angle into a side alley. Without leaving a single sound Eve leaped over and dived under obstacles in her path. Not only did her aura enhance her reactions but it even improved her memory. Eve quickly recalled that she could count every brick of every building she passed, (27219 bricks by the way) remembering her way to Talia's was not an issue as she leaped from the ground back onto the stores roof.

Eve: "First Ry*u, now The Fl*sh?"

Eve had one more experiment to attempt. Sitting back in lotus Eve began to recall the events that brought her back to this world. One of the skills she had always wanted when she began her meditations was teleportation. How cool would it be to instantly move from one place to another? This would be fast travel in real life! Eve quickly picked her destination thanking of the entrance of the canyon when she entered it from the desert and focused on making a shrinking sphere around herself with her aura. At first it worked but as she began to move she was instantly shot out of her sphere to find herself falling off the roof leaving a loud Thud when she landed on the ground! Hearing the noise Talia rushed out of her house to find Eve on the ground.

Talia: "Master! Oh my goodness, are you alright!"

Talia rushes to her master taking her arm over her shoulder and carries her back to a stool in her shop.

Eve: "Awu... ah... Ta, Talia I'm not... Injured but I feel... like my body is made of lead for now... let me just sit for a bit."

Focusing inside herself Eve could barely feel her aura at all like it was slowly slipping away.

Talia: "Master are you sure you don't want to use my bed! You look like you need it... I'm not taking no for an answer this time! you need to recover so I'm taking you to the bed!"

Eve: "ah... m..."

Talia drags Eve to her bed but when she tries to leave Eve grabs her hand. Talia looks over to see that Eve is no longer responsive and while she could easily shake off her grip she wanted to comfort Eve while she isn't feeling so well.

Talia: "Body pillow..."

Talia muttered quietly that no one could hear before getting into bed and holding eve close that she would not fall

Talia: "Just this one-time master..."

with a blush Talia closed her eyes and went to sleep.

Sorry for the delay but this chapter took me some time to write

This chapter was a monster to write. It took me forever until I felt that I have finally got it down where it's not just boring exposition. Even so, This still feels like a boring exposition chapter!

I wanted to add some other elements but I keep finding ill have to put them off till later as this is the perfect time to show Eve's need for solar energy to do everything since she missed out on daylight hours to recharge her energy and only had a couple hours of sunlight the day before.

It kept ending up being simple exposition with no fights, no new characters, and was barely able to fit in the Interactions between Eve and Talia. (Talia 'body pillow' FTW!)

PS! Let me know if I'm just imagining this chapter as worse than it is. If you enjoyed the chapter please leave a comment!

PPS! *Supprise hugs*!
