Qiu giggled as she lovingly watched her little lover dance about on the sidewalk. "Yu, come over here. Stand under the umbrella or you'll get drenched again." Qiu called softly, she really disliked the rain. However, just like Yu's name, she really enjoyed the rain. So Qiu, who likes to pamper her little Yu, just had to come out with Yu for a walk in the rain.

"Hey! Qiu let's go down that trail!" Yu's short wavy brown hair bounced along with her movements. Her round soft green eyes widening cutely.

Qiu shook her head in exasperation. Smiling gently, Qiu followed Yu along the trail. "This leads into a forest! Specifically speaking it's a forest of maple trees!" Yu continues to bounce around happily in the rain.

"It's going to start raining harder soon, come under the umbrella. I don't want you to catch a cold, Yu." Qiu tenderly clasped her little lover's hand, dragging her under the umbrella. Yu laughed at Qiu, her eyes turning into crescents. Her smile showing her pearly white teeth.

Qiu watched Yu with fondness glowing in her black eyes. Qiu slowly lowered her head, leaving a soft kiss on Yu's cold cheek. "It's getting colder because it's autumn, so Yu, please wear a scarf!" Qiu chided gently.

Yu beamed at her worrywart of a lover. Seeing a really pretty red leaf fluttering in the wind, Yu quickly ran towards it. Grabbing it, Yu charges back to under the umbrella. Laughing sweetly, Yu placed the leaf on Qiu's blonde hair. "Wow! Qiu you're so pretty, you look like an autumn goddess!"

Qiu laughed along with Yu. "Mm." She hummed in response to Yu's teasing.

"Do you remember this forest?" Yu enquired nervously. Not at all like her normally carefree nature.

Qiu responded in a soft voice, "I do. It's the place that you proposed to me, well it was in middle school, but you still proposed to me." Qiu's smile almost dripping with honey as she remembered one of her fondest memories. Yu was so nervous back then, just like… now. Qiu turned her head to face Yu hurriedly. Her black eyes widening in shock.

"Qiu, will you marry me?"

Yu wasn't on one knee, thankfully. The ground was too wet and cold. In her hand though, was a small maroon box. Qiu dazedly stared at her small lover. Chuckling for awhile, Qiu finally answered. "Yes."

Tears streamed down Yu's small face. Her big cute eyes watery with tears of joy. Qiu laughed at her little wife. "Aren't I supposed to be crying?" Yu shook her head before jumping into Qiu's embrace.

Qiu took a step back to stabilize herself. Holding the umbrella with one hand, Qiu rubbed the back of her wife with the other. Sighing softly, Qiu continues to talk. "Let's go home, Yu. We can't have you getting a cold now. That would be seriously uncool."

Yu nodded her head. Smiling goofily, she said, "Yeah, let's go home."

--

Arriving at their apartment, Qiu had Yu take a bath first. Qiu grabbed a medium sized grey plastic bag. Looking about their cozy apartment, Qiu couldn't help but reminisce. Yu and I had been childhood friends ever since Yu had moved here from America. In middle school, Yu had proposed to me, since then we have been dating. So it seems we have been dating for 9 years? Time really does fly by, and now I have gotten a real proposal.

Smiling to herself, Qiu watched as Yu walked towards her. "Here you go, Yu. It seemed like you needed one." Yu stared at the grey bag before slowly picking it up. Staring at the maple leaf patterned scarf inside it, Yu couldn't help but cry again.

"I know it isn't a ring, but since you didn't like wearing rings, I chose a scarf. So would you marry me too?" Qiu's face flushed in embarrassment. I can't believe we both thought to propose today!

Yu laughed in between sobs. She really loved Qiu.

"Yes."
