The sea of scarlet under Aka's feet just kept flowing. The surroundings desolate and dull, almost as if the world had lost its color. Although to Aka it had. She had lost the love of her life today. She had killed her with her own hands.

Aka watched as her beloved fell, the color red slowly drowning Aka's thoughts and feelings. Not even tears could fall in this lifeless world. Aka regretted with her whole being in not being able to tell her. Aka really wished she could have at least said, “I love you.” Aka whispered this to herself even if she knew no one could here.

The one she loved, Shiroi, would never be able to here her confession. True to Shiroi’s name, her already fair skin had become a deathly white. Aka felt nothing but suffocation and despair as she felt the warmth be drained from Shiroi. Aka wrapped Shiroi’s body tightly in her embrace, begging for at least just a little warmth to remain. Just like in her memories, that little warmth that meant nothing to Shiroi but had meant everything to Aka.

The scarlet river slowly began to devour Aka’s will to live. Aka felt the blood oozing from Shiroi’s stab wound seep through the gaps of her fingers, just like how Shiroi had. Had Shiroi just stayed, they could have continued on in peace. Why had she have to find out?

Why did the world have to take just that little bit of warmth, why had it made Aka take it away with her own hands!? Aka stared at the sword that Shiroi had loved. Taking the unsullied silver blade, Aka very slowly stabbed it through her heart. However this pain couldn’t overshadow the pain she felt of losing Shiroi.

Coughing up the crimson liquid, Aka couldn’t help but smile. “For once, it seems we can be together. Please, let us be reincarnated and have a happy and peaceful life together.” Aka couldn’t help but beg to god knows what. Even if it was a demon or a deity, Aka only wished to be together with Shiroi no matter the cost. Because nothing could pain her more then losing Shiroi again.

Aka’s eyes remained in a tranquil despair before slowly closing them as she leaned down to press her blood soaked lips against the pale lips of Shiroi. “I love you… I'm sorry…” She mumbled with a begging tone. She truly loves Shiroi. Solemnly, Aka made a vow to herself and Shiroi.

Not even death can do us part.

Aka looked lovingly at Shiroi. Kissing her soft lips, Aka softly spoke of her sacred vow that she had made.

“Not even death can do us part.”

Shiroi laughed at Aka before humming in reply contentedly. “Mh, yeah. Not even death can do us part, Aka.”

Even after this reincarnation, we shall remain together because in the first life we couldn’t. This time, instead of a scarlet sea of blood, it was a scarlet string connecting us together.
