<Later on the Day She Cried>

 

And there she goes to sleep, honestly even if she were to hold memories of her past lives she’s still a kid, have to stop acting and thinking like an adult, overthinking everything and anything, it’ll hurt you more often than not, but now that she’s not here, there’s something I must do, something pent up for a long time, and now I’ll vent out, I’ll make sure you feel pain, regardless of how childish you think I am, I won’t stop until everything went away.

“Yeig” I called out to her, right now in the hallway outside of Maova’s room, there’s a score to settle.

“What is it dear?” She said in such a friendly tone, does she really not properly considered how I’ll feel hearing that from her? I’ll make sure to let her know I feel, I’ll let it all out.

“I have something I want to do, and I need you to be there for it” I said, tensing up more and more, even if my life right now is that of a strange family that I… don’t necessarily hate, my bottled up feeling is still there, and it’s tearing at me more and more seeing myself unable to express it, making it look like everything is fine, it is not, and I’ll show her that.

“You’re clearly very tense and stress right now, what is it that you want to do?” She said in somewhat friendly but with a tint of concern and caution, she noticed for certain that whatever I want to do with her isn’t a heartwarming chat or embrace, nothing of the sort.

“We’ll go outside, we’ll find a large plain far away from this place, you know what I want to do” I said so with clear hostility in my voice, taking out my long sword from my [Item Box], wielding it with one hand. Yeig’s smile disappeared and look somewhat concerned, is this the right time for that? 

“... I see, well, I’ll locate that place for us… do what you must to get better”

*Zoom*

She teleported away, I’m sure she can located the place in a short amount of time, it’ll be easy for her, with her godlike existence.

*Zoom*

“I found it, do you really want to go now?” She said while completely serious, no hint of any positive emotion she usually have.

*Nod*

“I am, I’ll end it all today” I said seething with anticipation and impatience, I just want to lash it all out, everything she did that day, she’ll feel it all, I’ll make it so.

*Zoom*

Suddenly we’re in a vast field with nothing nearby, I can see the castle in the distance, but it’s so far away I doubt anything we do here will damage it, well it might be if Yeig try anything slightly serious.

“Seeing her like that, letting out everything she feels… I want to express to you how I feel as well, for you to understand…” I said, I felt a lot of emotion coming out of that line, I felt like crying, like raging, shouting in agony, I try to hide them all away, but now there’s no meaning to it. I point my blade at Yeig, who have the staff in her hand.

“HOW I FEELS!!!” I screamed at the top of my lung.

*Dash*

I dashed toward her with all my might and swing.

*Block*

Of course she block it easily, as if I can do anything to her! But I’ll show her my pain in this battle, regardless of the outcome, I’ll make her see everything! I swing my sword again and again.

*Block* Block*

Both were easily block and she doesn’t move from her spot at all, but just swinging my sword around wouldn’t be a good representation of my emotions.

*Flap* *Fly*

I’ll blast you away with magic as well!

“[Dark Star]!” The giant ball of dark matter formed and descend into Yeig at extremely high speed.

*Blast*

It hit her dead on, that won’t do anything and I know that, I’ll just bombard her with more!

“[Fireball]! [Thunder]! [Dark Bullets]!” I screamed out the name of my spell, I know that magic doesn’t need any incantation or command to activate, but so what? I don’t care, I’ll scream out every emotion I bottled up, I’ll make it clear to her. I’ll make it clear. The smokes is immediately cleared by her wind spell, and show her completely unaffected, she look up at me with her expression completely serious and not what it usually is, doesn’t matter how she looked at me, I’ll just fly down there and slice her up! Gliding myself toward her using the momentum to swing my sword overhead.

*Swing* *Block*

And she blocked at easily with her staff, looking at me with such expressionless eye, I can’t get a read on her, but she clearly have on me, but that doesn’t mean anything, this isn’t a battle of strength, it’s of emotion and will, what I’m expressing is not my strength, but my pain. Concentrating on my mana I manifest multiple shard of ice behind me, I now backed away from her.

“[Ice Barrage]!” As I said that the multiple shard of ice fly toward Yeig at extremely high speed. But she block it all, swinging her staff and hitting it all with great precision, trying to hit her from the side, the front, overhead, doesn’t matter where it’s from, she can block it easily without using any magic, she doesn’t move from her spot at all, but I’ll make her.

“[Blade of Darkness]!” My sword is then covered in darkness, let’s see how she’ll deal with this!

*Dash* *Swing *Parry*

… Of course nothing, but I can feel the shockwave from our clash, while it look like it doesn’t do anything those weaker than me might say otherwise. Time for me to back off again, not that she’ll move anywhere anyway.

“[Release]!” The darkness covering the blade is then released and fly toward Yeig in a shape of an arc, leaving a line in the ground.

*Slash*

It certainly hit her, but it doesn’t really do anything, time for me to use something much more powerful than she can expected. 

“[Blood Boost]!” I can feel the blood storing up to be expended for boost in my power.

*Dash* *Swing* *Parry* *Swing* *Parry*

First swing from my right and she easily parry it, next I followed up with an overhead swing, and she did the same yet again, but my trump card will not be beaten that easily. One I haven’t used for a long time.

<Flashback Start>

“It is said that outside of this place we live in, far above the sky, there exist many giant rocks that can destroy a town or two, that would be pretty scary if it were to happen to us or our enemy is it not?” Agvil said to me, I don’t understand what he meant by that.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“[Blood Art], a technique exclusive to you and your kind, if you were to use them to redirect something like that toward the enemy, we might have a chance of winning don’t you think?” To redirect such a dangerous object? Can I really do that?

“That sounds ridiculous isn’t it old man?” I asked. Certainly I can tell the power of blood is mighty, but can it go to that extend?

“Perhaps, but it wouldn’t hurt to try” Wouldn’t hurt huh… in such a chaotic time, there’s no such thing as wouldn’t hurt...

<Flashback End>

*Flap* *Fly*

I fly back up once again, I’ll use up all of the blood I stored no doubt, but so be it, but before that.

“[Blood Maiden]!” I screamed out and let the blood do its work, manifesting as a torture device Agvil once mentioned, it close shut and imprisoned Yeig inside, I don’t know if the spikes have any effect on her, but this might. Raising and pointing my sword toward the sky, I began my incantation.

“[Heed to me wandering piece, my blood shall be your marking, and you shall descend on the earth and to that marking, spread destruction: Meteor]!” Using the last of my stored up blood, they fly toward the sky and into an unknown territory, I don’t fully expect this to do anything, but this last attack shall be what end this battle! I fly out of the way and look at the sky to see it, the giant rock from that unknown territory descend upon the earth, flaming and falling at frightening speed for such a massive object, comparable to the castle in size.

“This is my rage and sorrow you inflict on me that day! Take it all in!” I yelled out as loud as I can and let her know full well of it.

*Crash*

It hits its mark. Crashing and cause a giant flaming crater, and in the middle of it is Yeig, I can see it from here, she’s not injured at all, just some smokes and dust on her, talk about unbelievable, taking that meteor head on while being imprisoned and stabbed from all directions, yet came out not that worse to wear, truly a frightening being. Ugh, my throat hurts, it hurts really badly. I have to land and get some blood.

*Drop* *Land*

I run toward her as fast as I can and bite her neck, she doesn’t put up any resistance, seriously, I was hitting her with what could easily destroy any kingdom, full of rage and bloodlust, yet letting me do this without any fear? I don’t really know what she’s thinking at this point. I want to let out all of my pent up emotions, toward her, perhaps it’s because of her incredible power, but she’s completely fine with just taking it, even knowing full well I despise her for what she did then… what’s with her? Why being so considerate now? I increase the strength of my bite, yet she doesn’t seem to care, only embrace me, she always said she loved me, but how genuine is that? How can I trust someone so enigmatic and powerful as her? The moment where I feel safe around her, was she just messing with my thoughts or was that really how I feel? I can’t really tell anymore, why does she take interest in me? Why does she stay at my side? She doesn’t have to, she doesn’t need to, but why does she do so? What’s so special about me that she did it?

… 

After a while I stopped drinking, I look at her face, she looks somewhat sorrowful, did I truly get through her? I can’t… tears? Have I been crying without realizing? Damn, now I’m just like that kid, or maybe she’s like me, doesn’t matter, I just acted like a damn child, embarrassing.

*Hug*

Huh? Yeig suddenly hugged me, why?

“What are you doing?” I said in a voice of someone who cried, still full of emotion, of sorrow to express.

“I just think you need something comforting is all” She said in a calming voice, I can’t really escape her grasp, so I shouldn’t try anything… I want to know more, about why she seems to care so much.

“Why? Why would you care for someone like me? What did I ever do to deserve your love? If it’s truly genuine” I asked.

“Haaa, it’s a complicated story to say the least, I just want to know what it feels like to have a family, knowing how you’ll be left with a child all by yourself, I know that there’s a space for me in that family of yours, so I took it, a child might be able to live with only one parent, but with how you are, I thought two might be necessary and I took that opportunity to put myself in as someone to guide you in becoming a parent, and act as one myself, I am very passionate about that, I make sure both of you receive affection like someone in a family should, a family I never have” So she longed for a family, that’s why she show both of us so much love, but still, this is a very convoluted way to go about it, she’s not done explaining so let’s keep listening.

“Another reason… is something I can’t really talk about, but to put it in another way… at first I really don’t see you as anything special, but after taking my time to be with you… I got attached I supposed, I’ve never been together with anyone for quite as long as you, so I take our time together as very special, it’s not exactly a reasoning you might find believable, but that’s the truth” So our time together affected her, even though she lived for a long time, to think that’s the case, falling in love with someone because of that. Well, I’m fine with that reasoning as long as she’s honest about it, but another thing I want to ask her.

“Do you… regret what you make me feel that day?” I said, feeling like I’m going to cry again.

“... Honestly, I didn’t at first, but seeing you avoiding me, keeping your emotions in check, trying to stay stoic, you’re clearly devastated by what I did to him and to you, after a while, even someone like me feel guilt, feel regretful” She said sorrowfully for the first time since I known her, still clinging to me.

“I know full well this day will come, and I can’t tell how you will feel about me in the end, do you hate me? Tell me, regardless of what the truth is, I’ll handle it, and we’ll still both be there for her anyway, right? It doesn’t matter if you hate me in the end or not, my feelings for you won’t fade away” She said tighten her embrace, damn it, after letting all of that emotion out, I can’t feel any malice toward her… only desire… seriously, what’s wrong with me? Thinking back about the time she smile at me or doing some tricks with her power for fun, it’s truly not a bad time, I can admit that, there’s no way I could hate her, perhaps her antics might be a bit much sometime, but that really was it, she’s still someone who cares about those she truly cares for, I can’t really bring myself to truly hate her anymore. I’ll return my embrace, letting her know full well of my feeling toward her.

“I won’t hate you, I can’t hate you” That’s all I said to her. She gasped, I could clearly hear that… she looked up at me with the most genuine smile I’ve ever seen, I smiled back as well. With the past behind us, all that’s left is two person who cared for each other, at least that’s what I believe to be the case, may she see it that way as well.

“I love you” She said, letting go of me and caress my face.

*Kiss*

… Kissing me just like that…

*Lift*

“Wha?” She let out a sound in surprise.

*Flap* *Fly*

I fly up into the night sky, carrying her like a bride, and said the magic word.

“I love you too” Saying so letting out a biggest smile I ever had, Agvil, if you can see this, I hope you’re glad that your last request is fulfilled.

“How about… after this… we both sleep together today?” Yeig said with a smile.

“That’s fine, but don’t push your luck, I’m too tired for that kind of activity” I playfully said as I poke her cheek. Perhaps I’m letting this all go too easily, but I don’t want to break Agvil’s expectation either, I don’t want any happiness be washed away by things like this.
