Going back to the town will be easy if I simply fly over there, but there’s still the problem of flying in the open field, if it were nighttime that would be a different story, but right now a more ‘conventional’ travel will have to do… and by that I mean buff myself to hell and back then run like hell, or maybe flying I’m not completely sure.

Aaaaaaaaand I’m back. There’s some trouble with breaking but no one else is around so it’s fine I think, I have no idea if anyone actually saw that but considering the speed I was going at I doubt anyone would really catch a glimpse of who did it, especially since at the speed I was at I have difficulty hearing anything, then again maybe that’s just the effect of the [Wind Barrier]. 

Anyway enough with that line of thought, I should go find something to do, maybe I should go asking that guild master for some more information. Honestly though the whole thing is a lot more tiring than I thought… At this point it’s in the evening and it’ll take about an hour or two before it’s night, I should go see him now before sunset.

“Huh?” The guild girl reacted seeing me back.

“What?” I asked.

“You’re back so soon” She replied.

“Well I might’ve done some hijinx to make the trip faster, but I won’t say anything. Trade secret” I explained. She looked confused still but that’s to be expected.

“I really don’t have anything so can you please leave me alone unless it’s something else?” He replied.

“Well that’s a bummer” I said.

“Can’t you just go against that tree and die trying or something?” He said somewhat sarcastically and definitely tired.

“I mean I could but really that place sounds like a video game dungeon made by someone who gets off on people’s tear” I said.

“That’s strangely specific, also you played video games before?” He replied and asked.

“I mean I didn’t do much else aside from that” I grimly said, really it’s not much of an existence.

“Alright I won’t press on it, can you go now?” He quickly said and asked.

“Yeah fine” I said as I walked out sighing a bit.

What should I do now I wonder, that tree sounds like a pain and something I can’t just force my way through, there are some requests I supposed but none of them are that interesting, at this point I don’t know what to do next… I would go to another town but I already pay for the nights here… I should go for a walk outside or in the woods or something for now, then I’ll think of what I’ll do next.

Now that I think about it being in this forest I might came across that girl again… what should I do if I found her? I don’t know how she’ll think of me with what I did, she might hated me for leaving her alone for all I know, I just don’t know how to deal with having her around. I know what I did was rather neglectful of me but I really have no idea of how to deal with her at the time, and even now I still have no idea at to what to do…

And for some reason I can feel something off about them, something uncomfortable… Actually the hood coat thing is quite modern looking, who is this hooded person… can it be? I quickly rush over to this person to say something.

“O-Oh, it’s nothing” I replied, what the hell is with the discrepancy in stats? Honestly after what I saw I think I should just run away but that’s honestly a pathetic thing to do.

“Anyway what should we talk about? I’m not one for coming up with topics” She said.

“Hmmmm, well how did you become a mythril ranked adventurer?” I asked.

“How? I just keep doing requests and that’s about it, I just keep doing it and people took notice, anything else?” She answered and asked. not what I thought to be honest.

“Well… why did you became one? You seems rather… dispassionate” I asked.

“I know is that those of mythril ranked adventurer can gain access to some of the noble and royal exclusive intelligence and luxury, and of course anyone would kill for that kind of privilege, not that it’s all useful of course” They get those? Kaa-san never talked about that, then again considering my position such a thing is barely necessary, having a very knowledgeable and super ancient sage at your side you can know almost everything.

“I see… by the way where did you get that coat?” I asked.

“This? An eccentric sage gave it to me, she thinks it looks good on me” She answered. Eccentric sage huh?

“Is her name Yeig by any chance?” I asked.

“You know her?” She replied.

“Yeah, she’s… my guardian so to say” I answered.

“Guardian? Seems like an odd thing for her to do” She said.

“W-Well she’s a bit unpredictable isn’t she?” I noted.

“True enough, anything else you want to ask about?” She asked. The atmosphere is so tense right now even though all we do is chatting.

“Um, if it’s alright with you, what kind of goal do you have in mind with all of that power you possessed?” She seems to have something, a goal that still isn’t accomplished yet.

“Searching for the one that mattered, staying strong for the one” She answered. Seems like she’s looking for someone in particular, but why haven’t she find said person yet with so much power?

“Shouldn’t you be able to with the power you have now?” I asked.

“Death isn’t something one can just cheat with only this much, at this point I’m just wander around and waiting with no end in sight” She replied, so she’s looking for someone who’ve already died? Some sort of reincarnation of that person? I’m not really certain.

“That’s certainly quite a conviction” I noted.

“When you love someone conviction came naturally, do you not have such a person?” She said and asked.

“No one in particular” I replied.

“Is that so? Perhaps you should looked for one, perhaps your life will be much more fulfilled” She said. Like there’s anyone like that… is there?

“Can someone like that really be found? I’m not really one for being with others” I asked.

“Who knows? You just have to keep searching, and if someone is already in your mind, you just have to seek them out” She said.

Her tone throughout the whole conversation and little I can make of her expression make me feels uneasy, bitter, and very uncomfortable, she’s anything but normal and even if she can put up a coherent conversation there’s definitely something wrong with her, perhaps I should cut loose before things escalate, with her level of power escaping is impossible.

“I’ll… keep that in mind” I replied.

“...Anything else?” She asked.

“No… that’s enough” I replied feeling relieved that the whole thing is over. She walked away.

“Love is precious, and shall never be taken for granted” That’s the last thing she said before disappearing from view…

I’m glad I survived that, but I still feels chill down my spine… maybe I should go back to the inn and cool off.

Hah… I hope I don’t have to experience something like that again, I think I’m going to holed up in here for a bit longer, maybe until afternoon then go do something else. I really should’ve expected someone on that level to exist, and now I feel so pathetic panicking like that…

“Ah it’s fine, I’ll go look for other request” I said as I go back to observing the board.

“I see” He replied then walked away. Now it’s time to look for other request… 

“Um, excuse me” The receptionist guild girl said suddenly.

“What is it?” I questioned, turning to look at her, and walk to her.

“Well the adventurer who went missing still hasn’t been found, I was hoping you could maybe find him… if you can” She requested.

“I mean I could, but isn’t it that we have no lead? Finding him will be very difficult” I noted.

“It would, but can’t I count on you for this? Regardless of his… condition if you can bring that man back the guild will reward you greatly, including increase in rank” She said, sounds interesting.

“It’s like there’s a bounty on the guy or something” I noted.

“It does sound that way doesn’t it” She agreed.

“Well I’ll go look for him alright, maybe even in a day” I said.

“That’s quite a confidence, we’re counting on you, and everyone else willing to take part” She said.

“Yeah yeah” I replied as I walked out.

I’m outside of town right now and I need to find him. I don’t have a lot of time on my hands since I do want a long rest after that morning, vampire doesn’t need rest as much as other race due to naturally recovering their energy and such quickly but it’s not like they can go on forever without it. Well I doubt the plains is a good place since he would’ve been found already otherwise, probably in the forest, so let’s go there.

Well I scouted the area for a long while in that Mystinical Forest or whatever nonsense name it have, can’t spot a single soul except… let’s not talk about her, saving then abandoning the person seems more like a cruel mercy than anything else, I don’t think either of us can make much of a conversation, let alone… I really should sort out my feelings after that bone chilling conversation, maybe I need to change my priority starting tomorrow, so I need to go back to the inn for now and rest up.

Hopefully she didn’t noticed me seeing her there and choose not to pay her a visit.

“Well things happened, by the way don’t mind that extra pay, that’s for you” I replied. This girl have been trying to asked about that for a while now.

“But why?” She asked.

“You seems like a hard worker that needs a bit of slack, so maybe a coin will cheer you up even just a little” I answered.

“I… thank you” Seems like she tried to think of a rebuttal but can’t come up with anything.
