On a carriage driving towards a academy sat 4 young men and one unfortunate coach man sitting in the rain. "I can't believe you called Jessica that Thomas." "Well you would as well if you Anton had to deal with her nagging daily, she has been up my case since day one of the academy" "Even if that is the case you should have held back a little, she is was in literal tears when you were done with your speech" "So what the academy is closing down for good we aren't going to ever see each other ever again, right Zark?" "Well yea she was the one who intentionally tried to get you destroyed books for the year's study, and that was before you two even met" "Right she was always cold to me before we met, she claims it is because I will someday bring bad luck to her what bull" The Carriage continued down the road hitting the occasional bump, finally nearing the destination it came to a halt. After they jumped out Mark threw a coin at the coach man and they proceeded to walk to their former dorms. "Mark why have you been so silent about what is happening, it is like you don't even care" "Thomas you know I don't care at all the academy, I never needed the academy I have my fathers private study to use." "Well yea but you won't be able to date anyone without any form of human contact." "You know how my looks are they aren't going to win any awards and the only people who speak with me are you three." "Fair point, Zark what are you and Anton plotting over there" As Thomas and Mark were talking, Anton and Zark were whispering something while trying restrain laughter. "Look over by that tree Thomas" "Oh what is over there a fat nudist, Zark just say what it is" "Just look" They finally convince Thomas to look at the tree after much banter, the tree stood alone in a wide open field for track running. It shed its leaves for the new coming winter and looked tired after being played with for years. "So it's a vampire about to be exposed to the sun huh, you and Anton have a weird sense of humor" "No look at its actions more carefully" As Zark said it was doing something special, it was trying to dig down in pure raw vain. "How did they get it to the one shady spot behind the tree, Zark you know I bet". "I'm offended that you would claim I know such barbaric things, I would have done the right thing and carry it over in day in a box Thomas." "A box of all things, wouldn't some light get in tho?" "Yes exactly that, it lets you know if you are not wasting your time if the vampire is dead then there is no point in carrying the box so far right?" "Zark you mean to say you make them see sun before you put them out like that? Wouldn't that make you unnecessarily cruel?" "Thomas that is a wrong way to look at it, the person who setup what you see before you was a coward. They never let the poor vampire see who did this to them, that creature was drugged and dropped in the field.  I bet if you went and questioned the creature it would say something along the lines of 'where am I how did I get here' such a pity when they don't notice who did it to them" "But altho Treeburning watching's are fun and all but they are expensive, right zark?" "Correct Anton they are fun to watch from a distance, because a first class seat cost too much in my opinion." "Thomas how about I find Jessica and her clique we can solve things before we are all forced to leave the academy tomorrow." "Mark great idea I'll go and pay for some seats to enjoy this Treeburning, we can eat lunch and enjoy the show! Be back before Noon no matter what, that is when the fun part begins!" Mark quickly ran off toward the Female Dorm on the academy's other side while Zark went and ran toward the crowd beginning  to gather near the field. "Wait I didn't say I want to watch this horrible show or make up with that horrible Jessica, come back you two assholes!" As Thomas just got done yelling Anton looked over. "We should go back to our dorms and pack while we can" After a slight sigh Thomas looked toward Anton. "Alright but this is going to be a horrible lunch, watching my first Treeburning while trying to talk to my near life long enemy." After a while it finally reached noon, Anton and Thomas wondered over to the now heavily populated field. Searching for Zark who may be anywhere they decided to climb a small hill on the outskirts of the event, there they spotted Zark. He was sitting at a long table with a couple baskets stacked near him, he found a spot on small incline where you can sit and enjoy. Obviously he had to pay for the perfect seating, he was watching intently as the vampire dug now deeper than its head in depth.  As they wondered over to him passing through the huge crowd Thomas noticed something very odd. People were more focused on their company, the show was even being looked at.  It was like nothing was happening in front of them, only the rare person stared as intently as Zark.  After making it to the table they saw a look in Zark eyes, It looked like a kid who was seeing their favorite toy. "About time you guys arrived, I got us 8 seats tho the table is small it will have to do." "Zark how much did this cost you, those are lunches that were made for this event right?" "Don't worry I know the company that is running this event, they gave me this stuff free of charge as a good bye present to me" "Oh right since you won't be in contact anymore right, you sure are moving far out man" "Tell me about it, we got a ton of cheap war torn land. I'm going to be managing it for the next coming years" As they all got seated, they noticed Mark and the Jessica Clique. "Thomas look at me" A confused Thomas looked over at Zark who lost all care for the Treeburning and was staring directly into his eyes. "Don't fuck up this talk, after we are out of the academy the only threat to your personal health is either something medical or a assassin. The goal of this talk is to make you two no longer enemies, I don't give a fuck if you still hate her don't make enemies without planning to finish them off for good." Thomas never heard Zark say something like that before. "You make enemies nearly daily with your cold personality, why should I be worried so much?" Anton looks over and stares directly at Thomas. "You are staying in this city, you have to learn to play politics with the people in it. We are all leaving only you are staying, we want to remove any and all enemies you may face later on using peace and dialogue. You are still seen as kids so if can can through this period of hatred, then later on you can look back on it fondly as the 'good old academy days'."Here they come look at the Treeburning, I'll handle the initial dialogue." Zark stood up from his seat and spread apart his arms slowly. "Welcome to my favorite show Treeburning, I have prepared us all lunch for this fine event. Come and take a seat as we enjoy the show!" Jessica and co were a little confused on why he was so excited for it, but they decided to shrug it off. After everyone had taken seats Zark silently wiped the sweat from his forehead, he was scared of putting out too many chars and making her embarrassed for not having that many friends. But thankfully she had just the right amount, he went back to helping the ladies get their meals. After a hour of shouting, a little crying, some laughs, they finally heard a noise they couldn't talk over something non-human. A scream so painful that is pulled at the heart strings to listen was erupting from the now deep hole, sunlight had reached the vampire. "Can't he wait for sun to pass and the shade to come back" Jessica asked the seemingly knowledgeable Mark, he quickly shot a glance toward Zark as if asking for help. "They cannot wait that long actually, they need only One full minute to fully die. Even if he is exposed for a solid 10 seconds then the damage can never be repaired. Currently he is deciding to crawl out of the hole or wait it out." Now looking toward Zark instead of mark, Jessica looked troubled over something. "Why is it called Treeburning when the tree is not even on fire?" "Well they can't kill all those creatures with the sun alone, they need fire sometimes as well. So they strap it to the tree and burn it to death using the tree, of course they sometimes get lucky and catch a vampire who requires no actual tree's to be burnt. "So we are saving nature and removing a pest what a true beauty it is killing vampires compared to other creatures". As they were talking the crowd watched in glee when they saw a hand reach out of the hole, it tried to pull itself out in vain. As they watched it's hand fall apart in real time from just sunlight, they saw it. "Look this is it, a hole digger and a jumper type such rarity the Corex Company truly finds the best quality ones!" As Zark said it jumped out, it's face covered in mucus and tears. It tried to say something but the crowd's cheers were so loud Zark and co had to start screaming just to simply talk. As the monster looked around in horror, it slowly turned around and tried to jump again. This time tho its left leg snapped causing to collapse, the crowd only grew louder at the sight of it. The Monster then turned and looked around in hopelessness, at one point it passed Thomas. Altho its gaze would only lock on to your for a small second that is all it took for some of the viewers to either cry out in joy or stop and stare.  It gave out one last painful Wail and tried to lift itself up, only to have its arms snap from the sun eating away at his flesh faster and faster. "It is ending already huh, well that was a great lunch and show" Everyone turned around and gave Zark a look as if he was the true monster here and went back to looking at the event. "What is that Zark?" Thomas was pointing toward a kid in the crowd, he was running toward the monster. "Oh a protestor they are people who sided with that UTZ Union, back in the war vampires were apart of the horrid Union." Now with the crowd watching the kid since the vampire was now simply decaying they watched him run in tears, he went toward the vampire but was stopped by a couple of Treeburning watchers. "Let the kid through" Shouted someone in the crowd, soon people also chimed in since the show was basically over anyway. Seeing how it could be interesting the Corex Company decided to make a path for the kid toward the vampire.  As soon the kid reached the vampire the crowd watched him grab the vampire, it was like someone hugging a family member. Soon the kid just sat there crying as he held the vampire's gore covered clothes. Zark turned and whispered toward everyone at the table. "Guys don't worry the company pays these kids sometimes to make the show more interesting, it was one of my ideas actually that kid is a good one. He even got the running while crying down, I'm so proud of corex for using my idea." "Why" said Thomas on the verge of tears. "Money" simply replied Zark. "why would they do all of that, the crowd was just enjoying the vampires death why would you think there is any money you can pull using sympathy. People who laugh at something die don't tend to have sympathy." Jessica now was looking toward Zark, he simply pointed toward the crowd. "Look they will always feel sympathy for a fellow human, never a non-human." "What was your comment on the UTZ Union for then?"Jessica and co now stared at Zark. "To see how you guys reacted to this being real, not some drama written for greed but an actual crying kid who just lost somebody dear." "I think we better leave, they will be carring around charity bins for the 'kid' soon. It will reach the kid if you want to know, the kid gets a steady income from tips. The corex company does take half of his tip money tho." The group decided to part ways, the males went to their dorms and the females theirs. Both planning to spend the night packing bags for the next day.
