Another day, another Blackmail-fueled article. Angel Grove is colloquially known as Kaiju City, and for good reason. All the same, it has other good features that might just justify the trip, even if you aren’t a fan of giant robots!

But first, safety prep. In the case of Angel Grove it is essential that you do not go wandering in the downtown core, as this is the region where the overwhelming majority of the action takes place. If there is a Kaiju attack, and it’s only a matter of time before there will be one, it is here that the S.S.S. will inevitably fight it, quite probably leveling some infrastructure in the process.

The the bright side, the constant rebuilding means that the core will never be exactly the same between two visits. It’ll always be an adventure, each time to go into it! And really, a Kaiju battle is that much better when viewed from up close. I personally recommend the air tour, as it flies high enough to be safe from all but the most persistent Kaiju and Reckless S.S.S. members.

Angel Grove has one other thing aside from Kaiju that makes it unique as well: technology. The Junkyards surrounding the towns, in addition to being the city’s true population centers, are also veritable treasure troves of demontech. There are many shops specializing in hardware that can’t be found anywhere else and more still who know how to put those pieces together into something functional. For the thoughtful shopper, there is simply no comparison when it comes to an Angel Grove souvenir.

And then there’s that thing that you will bring with you in another manner: food! While Angel Grove lacks the diverse food subcultures of Daimachi or Venus Cloacina, it none the less has several dishes that the local populous specializes in. It is the home to the Legendary Juice Bar, that sacred establishment that is said to have truly every flavour of juice imaginable to the point that it has a no money back guarantee to deliver any favour request made on it!

Buffets are also popular in Angel Grove and can serve as a highlight for the more gluttonous Demons out there. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that there is nowhere else in Nobis where you could eat from a replicator. I can’t speak for the flavour, but the experience and bragging rights mean that it’s worth it at least once.
