Feeling awkward getting scolded by the beast currently chewing my sole belonging I fell back onto the ground after my failed grand escape. I somehow lost a bit of my vigilance as I stared at my core being held between its paws as it silently broke pieces off it one by one. Slowly sitting up I took a few quick glances around me.

I was in the middle of a small clearing with a giant beast enjoying its appetizer. There was nothing noteworthy around me expect for that damned plant I was so fixated on before. When slowly moved my rear an inch at the time to the right the beast just glanced at me and continued its meal. If I tried to do the same away from it, a low growl would come and the beast would stare intently at me.

I truly have no clue how I offended this great deity in front of me. It seemed absolutely fine with me moving around in circles as long as I did not increase the distance.

Getting a bit closer to the red plant I slowly moved my hand towards it under the dead leaves. I had an idea... This great deity seemed to really enjoy my mana core...

As I covered the plant with my palm I felt dejected. This plant contained a good mixture of pure/common mana. It would have made a nice addition to... my... mana core... Feeling even more dejected I focused on making a new one to buy my freedom from this great deity.

A moment later I was finished making it. I had spend almost all the pure mana in the surroundings as well as the soil under me. Even the dead leaves were apparently even more dead now... As I turned around to see what Deity was up I almost screamed out as my face hit something soft.

While I focused on appeasing this deity I had completely let my guard down. And it had apparently found out what I had in my hand as it looked intently at my closed palm.

The second time was not as painful as the first one. As I slowly laid the newly formed core on the grass in front of me and backed a few inches back.

Deity looked intently at the core before sniffing it a few times. After apparently getting its approval it swallowed it up whole in an instant.

A few moments later I still waited for my pardon as it starred intently at me... Suddenly it leaned over and my heart dropped to the floor. The next thing I remember is feeling extremely dirty as drool tickled down my skin as it held me in its mouth. Supported by its tongue the sharp teeth were only a few inches away from piercing my delicate skin.

It began to walk as i limply stayed put. There were absolutely nothing I could do in a situation like this. I imagined a lot of possibilities but this were not one of them. This great deity were apparently not interested in this selfproclaimed tasty piece of meat. As it continued on it kept going for close to an hour before stopping next to an waterfall. The water fell from high above and hit the small lake in front of us. As the deity began quickly sprinting towards the cliffwall behind the waterfall I thought to myself...

Please if you want to smack yourself to death please let me down first!!!
