warning gore I don't think it's that bad but that's my opinion and besides you can easily skip it without missing much so if you're sensitive to gore/don't want to read it you don't have to I do not plan to have much if any for the rest of the story but of course that could change

I was sitting down on the porch early in the morning. dew was still on the grass and I was reading a mediocre book I hated it but I've read everything else and besides my parents wouldn't take me back to the library until I finished reading everything I've gotten. Ugh this book looked good and sounded good but it wasn't this is such a wasted of time

I then saw my dad approaching me in the corner of my eye and a pit rose in my stomach it wasn't that he was mean but I could feel his disappointment in me he was a manly man as well as both of my brothers but they've already moved out. I'm not feminine per say but I was definitely closer to that then being like them

"Hey Tom I need your help with fixing the barn roof." my dad said as he began leaning on the porch railing.

"But you said we were going to do that next week." I replied holding back a groan

"Well it's not like you're doing anything anyways go put your book down and follow me" he said as he began to walk towards the barn

I begrudgingly put the book down and begin to follow him walking on the grass I looked at the barn the roof was much higher than I'd like and much stepper especially when it's made of smooth metal

"Are you sure it's safe"

My dad sighed then said "nothing's going to happen I've worked on it before and so have both of your brothers be a man Tom"

I ignored what he said he always says stuff like that

"I already got the ladder up now I want you to get up there and unscrew those old rusty panels that me and your brothers weren't able to replace last year and while you do that I'll be getting the replacements hauled over"

"Okay" I said not very enthusiastically and I hauled myself over grabbing the power tools and began climbing the ladder when I got to the top I stepped onto the roof my first step was fine then my second step  but as I was taking my third step my foot slipped and I quickly fell hitting my head on to the roof making me get disoriented as I quickly fell off the roof

the first part of me to hit the ground was my right foot but at a terrible angle that barely slowed the rest of myself down but still caused it to severely break my ankle causing a lot of blood to start flowing out. Then my right side hit the ground cause multiple rib fractures one of which punctured one of my lungs and almost to make fun of me the power tools hit my left side not causing anything besides a bruise.

I struggle to lift my head up and I cough up some blood and I roll myself onto my back feeling the pain in my ankle and I look to see the damage and I immediately regretted it bone was sticking out and it looked like my foot was only hanging on by a thread the combination of pain and the sight of my leg caused me to black out

I regained consciousness I don't know how much longer after but I saw I was in the cars back seats, my mom was trying her best to keep me from choking on the blood and my dad was driving, his skin having become extremely pale I kept myself awake as long as I could fearing that I'd die if I lost consciousness again.

"You're going to be okay we're almost to the hospital you're going to be okay" my mom was saying through tears trying to reassure me and herself

I managed to stay awake 7 more minutes throughout I was coughing up blood and holding my right side the broken ribs causing a weird formlessness that I couldn't describe until in the end I went into cardiac arrest.

I died before we reached the hospital.
