Before the darkness was even given a chance to greet his eyes, a foul odor took his nose. "Aw' Hell!"

His surroundings had changed in an instant from the time he had torn the talisman. There was nothing but darkness and a small warm light that lit up a small passageway forward. Stones lit the way buried in the dirt walls and ceilings to light the way.

They were clearly underground and the way ahead of them appeared to have been dug out by some… mass of rodents of some kind.

Glancing over Wei Feng could just barely make out the silhouette of Sun-Mae's face. The next few words that left her lips nearly caused him to expel the last of his fresh air!

"We're in the Bunny Burrow Sect…"

Hearing those words a small crack of a laugh emitted from Wei Feng's throat, air subtly seeping from his nose.

"That's…" He spoke muffledly, "Some horrible naming sense…"

"Not really," Sun-Mae sighed as she started walking forward towards the warm light ahead. She wasn't at all fazed by the smell, showing that she had been here once before or at least was very acquainted with the smell.

"Oh?" Wei Feng slowly lowered his hand from his face as he began to breathe shallowly.

Following her down the winding passageway until they met the turn, Wei Feng and Sun-Mae stopped at the corner. Peering around the dirt wall, they could see a number of people bustling about dressed in earthy colors. On top of their heads were rabbit ears and at their waists were small fluffy masses that appeared to be tails.

"Demi...Humans?" Wei Feng was surprised to see this in another world, especially a cultivating world like this one. They were often seen in Western-Esque worlds, but there was plenty here.

"You've never seen rabbit people before?" Sun-Mae gave him a light nudge.

"No," Wei Feng winced at her elbow's nudging, "I haven't."

"Well… I don't have my sword, so we can't go rushing through them," Sun-Mae whispered quietly as she felt her empty scabbard at her side.

"How much was that sword anyway?" Wei Feng took a few steps away from the corner, folding his arms over his chest.

"About… Two hundred crystal coins," Sun-Mae nodded as she mentally affirmed.

Impatiently Wei Feng drummed his fingers on his sleeve as he questioned their situation. "So, do we really have to fight our way out?"

"The Bunny Burrow Sect are a bunch of cowards, but I hear their Chief Elder is hoarding powerful treasures from the rest of his Sect..." Sun-Mae muttered, crossing her arms much like he was as she leaned her back against the wall.

"Cowards?" Wei Feng wasn't so sure how that made it harder to talk their way out. "Hoarding? What is he a dragon?"

"They use Qi to amplify their screams and kicks…" Sun-Mae huffed as she appeared to be squeezing her biceps in her hands, "and I don't think he's a dragon, heh..."

"So they deafen their opponents… And then kick them to death?" Wei Feng wasn't too thrilled about the information, but it was relatively useful.

"Yes, so getting out of here…"

"Will be relatively easy," Wei Feng rolled his eyes as he peered at the warm light that was coming around the corner.

"Eh?" Sun-Mae scrunched up her face in confusion.

"Rabbits have sensitive ears, and screaming indoors is just hazardous on their part." Wei Feng opened his shop as he knew there may be something to help.

"You're… You're not wrong," Sun-Mae pinched her chin as she pondered on a way to get things to work out in their favor.

Focusing on the shop page, Wei Feng looked up defensive accessories regarding ears. Without much of a wait, a few seconds later a welcomed selection of earphones and plugs appeared on the screen.

The first pair seemed to be the cheapest of the bunch.

'Interesting,' Wei Feng was pleasantly surprised, 'They seem to have statistics… And even rarity? It's really like a game, huh? I wonder if there are refining methods.'

Flicking through the color choices, he peered over toward Sun-Mae and raised a brow. "Hey, what's your favorite color?"

"You're asking me this all of a sudden?" Sun-Mae looked at Wei Feng skeptically.

"Green, pink or blue?" Wei Feng rolled his eyes at her skepticism.

Parting her lips as she raised her head a bit to look at the ceiling.

"Green," Sun-Mae returned her gaze to the boy curiously now, "Why those choices?"

Purchasing a green pair and a blue pair of Earplugs, Wei Feng withdrew them from his item box and held a pair out for her to take.

"Put these in your ears," Wei Feng ordered as if it were detrimental she listened to him.

Pursing her lips as she stared at the strangely shaped and disenchanting items in his hand. They looked like little gumdrop shaped lumps.

"You… Want me to put those things in my ears?" Sun-Mae pointed at them hesitantly.

"They're not going to jump out and bite," Wei Feng informed her, "They'll block the screams from the cowardly bunnies."

"Ah," Sun-Mae stared down at the items before taking them and putting them into her ear. Feeling them clog up her hearing, she was somewhat startled as her entire body tensed at the sensation.

"How was that?" Wei Feng smirked.

"What did you say?" Sun-Mae sniggered as she didn't hear a single word.

Giving her a thumbs up, Wei Feng's smirk grew before he put the blue pair in his ears.

"How did you get the different colors?" Sun-Mae asked, unable to hear herself talk.

"What?" Wei Feng blinked as she was talking.

Sun-Mae shrugged, "Later."

Nodding as he understood the word he saw her lips shape, he chuckled a bit.

With moderate concentration, Wei Feng channeled his Qi through his meridians. A poisonous aura began to take form around his dantian before taking the form of a serpent as it coiled around his shoulders.

[ First Form of the 6 Viper Fang Spirit Dance Form has been achieved. ]

"Thanks for the notice," Wei Feng snickered as a number of the bunnies turned to the source of building Qi.

He could see them shouting, some of them pointing.

"Intruders have entered the burrow!" Screams began to emit throughout, words carrying throughout the whole maze-like dungeon setting.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" One of them already released a barrage of sound infused Qi.

The deafening sound, however, was nothing more than a strong gust of wind that passed over Wei Feng. A mischievous grin crossed his lips as he saw Sun-Mae stand beside him from the corner of his eye.

"Ugh!" A number of the bunny people were holding their ears in pain, falling to their knees. The idiots had actually used their natural defense mechanism to harm themselves.

"Hah!" Sun-Mae laughed, "They actually did it!"

Darting forward as about a dozen rabbits came rushing to the scene, Wei Feng punched one of the males square in the chest as he burst through their defending arms. The hissing of the snake-like familiar could be heard, poisonous Qi enveloped his target.

"Mmgh!" The rabbit fell backward and landed on the ground twitching, before becoming very still as foam started pouring from its mouth.

"I… Just killed someone…?" Wei Feng had never even punched a person before and yet a single punch had killed a cultivator at the same level as he was. His heart shivered and it felt like it had broken in several different places.

Then came the stimulation of roaring movement that grabbed his attention.

Narrowly dodging a kick from a cussing rabbit, an Iron Fist glowing with electricity crashed into the head of Wei Feng's attacker.

It was none other than Sun-Mae grinning as she externally dodged their attacks. An equilibrium between Qi and physical martial arts. She blasted one of the rabbits directly into a nearby wall with electrified raw Qi.

Wei Feng couldn't help but grin at the sight before dodging an airborne rabbit attempting to jump kick him. In return, he grabbed the rabbit's ankle and smashed them face-first into a dirt wall.

[ +2,500 EXP for defeating a Core Formation Stage Cultivator. ]

They were all physically weak in durability which was insanely stupid. Wei Feng frowned as he deflected a half-assed punch into the nearby wall. With a swift movement with his feet dragging along the ground, Wei Feng stung the man with a kick from his shin.

Once more the rabbit man fell foaming at the mouth as the toxicity of his skill path was killing his targets with relative ease.

"Don't hold this against me," Wei Feng spat as he turned his head to look toward another group of rabbits entering the fray. "You attacked us first!"

[ +2,500 EXP for defeating a Core Formation Stage Cultivator. ]

"Surrender or die!" One of the Rabbits screeched with a quarterstaff in their hands as they came charging in.

Not hearing the man, Wei Feng ducked under a Qi infused swing and swiped his feet out from beneath him. His movements were like little dances, as he then jumped and landed his heel on the rabbit's throat.

A disgusting pop emitted from the rabbit, his windpipe having been crushed by the strike.

[ +2,500 EXP for defeating a Core Formation Stage Cultivator. ]

"This is nice and all…" Wei Feng uttered seeing the experience notifications, "But I rather not be getting experience from all of this needless killing."

Doing a backflip, pushing his hands off the dirt floor of the dungeon, Wei Feng dodged the impact of a meteor hammer. A blast of Qi emitted from its impact and sent him stumbling backward just as he landed on his feet again.

"Ooof!" Wei Feng caught himself on a wall and peered over towards a really jacked up rabbit entering the narrow fighting space. He wore earthy green robes and a nasty grin.

"I thought these bastards were all cowards!" Wei Feng spat seeing Sun-Mae continuing to fight ahead of him.

Without hesitance he darted forward, digging his boots into the dirt to spring himself forward in speedy lunges.

"It is you who are cowards for invading our home unannounced! For you have found death!" The Rabbit man began to take in a massive breath.

Wei Feng drew his sword and as he centered his Qi, his own fist began to glow a mesmerizing violet.

[ Poison Qi has merged with Iron Fist to create (Deviant Iron Fist). ]

Ignoring the notification and the highlighted words, Wei Feng's fist connected with the man's chest.

"WAaAAAAAAaaaAaaAah!" The man was forced to exhale prematurely as he was sent flying backward. Skidding on the ground he began to bleed from his very pores as his Qi attack had been completely interrupted.

Without a second thought, Wei Feng parried a series of attacks from the weaker rabbits. This was the time where he found that Qi had really enhanced his strength. Even though he couldn't properly pierce the spider's chitin defense, these humanoids were all too easy.

Punching another one of the rabbit men, sending them barreling into a wall with such force, Wei Feng grinned openly. He had never felt so much power before, even if it was eliminating these people in such a manner.

Backhanding an incoming rabbit, he then punched them under the ribs inadvertently smashing their head into the tunnel ceiling.

'Not at the moment,' Wei Feng thought to himself as he noticed the question. It was the only thing he could actually hear. 'Funnel the experience points into Mana Conduit.'

The moment these thoughts came to fruition a strange sensation of warmth overcame his entire body. As if something had just been added to his body, an extra weight seemed to have taken its place within his heart.

Unidentified power raged within him suddenly, mixing with his Qi.

[ Wei Feng has entered the Initiate Minor Stage of Hopeful Domain ]

[ 1,500 EXP remaining. ]

Feeling a very powerful killing intent, Wei Feng's head snapped to the side seeing the rabbit who he had knocked down earlier was getting back up. "Should stay down, friend…"

"Not a chance… Young Daoist, it is time for you to be taught a lesson!" Growled the rabbit man as he narrowed his dark black eyes on Wei Feng.

Not hearing a thing the man said, Wei Feng, charged forward with his violet glowing Iron Fist at his side. Each heavy lunge he took, his eyes bounced up and down with his movement.

"As if you're going to get past me with that again!" Shouted the rabbit as he went to bellow once more as he collected Qi between his two front teeth.

'Put the rest of my experience into the Iron Fist!' Wei Feng shouted in the back of his mind and almost immediately he felt his Iron Fist fill with overwhelming strength.

[ Iron Fist IV has been reached. Would you like to upgrade to Steel Fist? ]

A smug grin formed over his lips as he nodded Wei Feng he brought his fist forward, seeing the shock on the rabbit man's face. Taking it upon himself to take care of this demihuman, the violet glow of his fist shone from his eyes.

'Aha! He was not expecting a sudden powerup, now was he?!'

Pulling his fist back, Wei Feng then closed the larger rabbit's jaw with an undercut. He could feel the shattering of his bones against his knuckles before the force behind his attack along sent the rabbit face-first into the ceiling.

[ +7,500 EXP for defeating a Silver Core Stage Cultivator, Xiyan Xui. ]

Just as he was about to turn around, Wei Feng felt a foot connect with his hip. The pain began to sear through his every being before his opposite side met with the wall. With a single impact to his head, his vision blurred and he came tumbling back down to the floor.

Rolling onto his stomach as he held his hip, Wei Feng spewed blood onto the dirt floor. "Nnnngh.."

Even as she was shouting, her little lips were quivering and her legs were trembling from kicking him. "I will avenge Big Brother Xui!" A small rabbit stood over him, glaring down at him.

Lifting his head from the ground, Wei Feng peered back at her. She had to be at least sixteen and her red-tea eyes were filled with complete fear while her standard cut black hair stood on end.

A faint smile formed over his blood-stained lips as he went to stand back up.

Lifting her foot, Wei Feng could see Qi building up along the pads of her bare feet.

"Wei Feng!" Sun-Mae shouted as she was running toward them with a few rabbits in tow.

Pulling himself to his feet before she could finish channeling her Qi, Wei Feng grabbed her by the ankle and shoved her to the ground.

The shock was written all over her face as her mouth was agape. Her eyes were wide and those droopy ears of hers were at attention.

"Sorry," Wei Feng apologized dryly as he pushed himself on one leg, directly into a rabbit that was ahead of Sun-Mae. Headbutting the man, he went down on the ground with the rabbit.

"I go–UGH!"

The man had his arms around Wei Feng, but he stabbed him with his broadsword.

"No hard feelings," Wei Feng whispered before standing up again as the man stopped moving. Withdrawing the sword from his opponent's chest, he wiped the blade aside splattering blood onto the vengeful rabbit girl.

[ +2,500 EXP for defeating a Core Formation Stage Cultivator. ]

"Brother Yun!" She cried in horror.

Wei Feng with his earplugs didn't hear a thing as he began to make his way down the corridor. The only thing he could think was that 'this is a one-sided slaughter… a massacre!'

Taking out a nourishing pill from the item box, there was no hesitation before he popped it into his mouth. With a single crunch, Qi poured into every one of his meridians and his discomfort ultimately ceased as he healed near-instantly.

There were no maps on the wall. The burrow's interior design was intricate and seemingly there was no thought behind its layout. Just like a rabbit hole, the burrow was nothing more than a maze to trap the predators who dare attack the sect and its rabbit inhabitants.

The rabbits' Qi enhanced screams were blocked out by the earplugs and were reduced to nothing but high winds. They did more damage to themselves, many of which falling down and holding their bleeding ears as their hair was stained with deep crimson hues.

"You should keep your voices down!" Wei Feng was actually pleading with them rather than snorting in their faces.

Despite what they were up against all of them only had two moves, aside from the few who opted to use martial weapons. Even then, they weren't strong and the majority of those fighting were Core Formation Stage and below.

Sun-Mae grabbed onto Wei Feng's arm and pulled him through the long winding passageways.

Their goal was to remain on the upward slopes in an effort to find the exit. However, just like a rabbit's burrow, it was riddled with traps and dead ends. There were a number of pitfalls even.

"You! You get back here! MAaaaaaaAAAAaaAaAaAaaaaaah!" Yelled the young rabbit who had kicked Wei Feng before, "So I can kick you dead, you hear!?"

Finding themselves in front of a large archway, Wei Feng and Sun-Mae stared at the Chinese letters that hung above them. It was the Bunny Burrow Sect's treasure room which was very unexpected, even more so that for Wei Feng that words seemed to translate themselves through the system.

"Shouldn't this be at the very bottom?" Wei Feng stared at the archway.

Sun-Mae peered over at him with the same idea, "Shouldn't this be at the bottom of their Sect…?"

Unlike the rest of the dirt-built maze, the treasure room was built out of stone. Though the doors were wide open, the interior was made lavishly with plentiful of drapes and chests.

"You thought you could just waltz in here," A voice boomed behind them, "And take our treasures!?"

Feeling his hair whip about, Wei Feng turned his head to the side and locked eyes with the Elder of the sect. He had unkempt long white hair covered in dirt and mottled black and white ears.

His powerful red eyes glared through Wei Feng as if he were nothing but an ant.

"You left behind a string of my family and friends, the useless ant that you are, tremble before my might!" The Elder stomped forward and yet Wei Feng didn't even flinch.

"I can't hear a word of what you're saying," Wei Feng barked back at him, "But we used an escape talisman and ended up in your burrow… And then your people attacked us!"

Stopped in his tracks, the Elder blinked at the boy's words. The circumstances hadn't been in anyone's control and that was coming to mind. It turned from a helpless slaughter of innocence into a massacre in retaliation to a simple act of violence.

"Still!" The Elder argued with the self-deafened Wei Feng, "You murdered countless others to get to this point!" His forefinger pointed daringly at the archway that was labeled as the Sect's treasury.

[ 143,500 EXP is unused. How would you like to distribute the accumulated wealth? ]

Hearing the system's monotonous question, Wei Feng grinned.

If he was able to put all of this experience into one cultivation path, he had just enough to make it into the Silver Core Stage. Though another choice could be to continue leveling up his Iron Fist, the only issue being a more powerful Qi skill path required more Qi.

"No matter how powerful you may think you are," The Elder grinned in return, "You'll never be able to survive my secret-weapons technique!"

Still not hearing the man, Wei Feng felt as if the Elder was now monologuing to himself. He couldn't help but chuckle, "You're making my heartache old man!"

'Put it all into the Six Viper Fang Spirit Dance Form,' Wei Feng ordered the system to do his bidding.

[ Roger. Spending accumulated wealth. . . ]

Despite the noise-canceling earplugs occupying Wei Feng's ears, the insidious hissing of serpentine forms filled his sense of hearing.

That wasn't all, but both Sun-Mae and the Elder could both hear the sound emitting from his dantian.

"You may be weaker than I," The Elder declared almost shakily so, "But I am no bully to the weak for I recognize your strength!"

Without a second to waste, the old rabbit dared to rush forward as he drew claws from his long earth-colored sleeves. He was far faster than the old man Wang, Wei Feng couldn't even track him through his killing intent… if he even had one in the first place.

Closing his eyes Wei Feng listened for the voice of the system.

[ Blue Soul Grade skill path acquired. ]

Opening his eyes alongside the robotic feminine voice, Wei Feng plunged himself into a crouch just as a lukewarm gust of wind rushed overhead. Throwing himself to the side, his fingers grasped onto the earthy tones that made themselves apparent, and maneuvered around the robed elder feverishly.

Six conjured vipers coiled around his body made of his five elements, increasing not only his speed by his strength as well. With an iron hold, Wei Feng threw the Elder into the nearest dirt wall.

In the blink of an eye, a cloud of dust filled the lone corridor and blotched out the glowing stone lighting fixtures.

Coughing up a spray of blood the elder bounced off the wall and dropped to his knees on the floor. Before he could even look up, Wei Feng was already upon him.

With a swift sidekick, Wei Feng wished to quickly end this bout, but he had sorely underestimated the Elder.

Followed by a loud 'Ka-ka-ka-CRACK' the dust in the air was pushed away.

Wei Feng's shin was pressing into the dull side of the claws that the Elder had sticking out from under his sleeves. His leg was shaking as he was still trying to force through the higher sect member's defense.

"Impressive…" Wei Feng frowned as the corner of his lip twitched in distress.

"No one has drawn blood from me in over three centuries…" Laughed the Elder, grinning wider than ever. His care for his fallen disciples and comrades was all but gone, replaced by nothing more but excitement and battle lust.

"Oh shit…" Wei Feng could read the man's expression without even having to hear his words.

"My name is Lin Tao, you have broken into my Sect. Prepare to die."

Lin Tao shoved Wei Feng's leg aside, causing him to stumble back.

In preparation for a retaliation attack, Wei Feng brought his Jian broadsword out in front of himself. Just thinking about what could happen, he knew getting out of this unscathed was impossible.

One swipe after another, the Elder bared his claws at the young Silver Core Foundation Stage cultivator. Each time they made contact the attack got stronger. As the momentum continued to build Lin Tao nearly forced the weapon out of Wei Feng's hands.

"I won't keel over for you, old man!" Wei Feng cursed as he was backed against the wall.

Much like how Lin Tao had kicked off the wall, Wei Feng shoved his legs into the wall to acrobatically summersault over Elder Lin's head.

Lin Tao wrecked the wall with his claws as Wei Feng flew over him.

The second Wei Feng landed on his feet, it was already too late. Lin Tao had already turned around and released another fierce swing of his right clawed hand.

Mustering up just enough Qi and physical strength behind his technique, Wei Feng successfully defended himself from the oncoming attack. With such power behind the assault, however, he found himself skidding on his ass before he could even blink.

"Uuugh–!" Falling back onto his shoulder, Wei Feng choked up a fresh stream of deep crimson.

"Ahahaha!" Lin Tao bolted after Wei Feng as he went to stand and went for a downward slash.

Raising his Jian to intercept, Wei Feng parried Lin Tao's attack in a flurry of sparks.

This wasn't enough to fight Lin Tao's thirst as the old man kicked Wei Feng in the side with a hidden blade from between his toes.

"Ah!" Wei Feng gasped as the weapon nearly punctured his lung before he met the wall for a second time. This time it had been his turn to kick up dirt and dust from the very impact he made.

As the earplug fell out of one ear, Wei Feng stumbled and struggled to stay on his feet. With his weapon's point limply tracing the ground, he peered up towards Lin Tao who came in for another strike.

"This is it for you!" Lin Tao shouted with his attacking arm drawn back for a stabbing motion.

"Is that so…?" Wei Feng breathed shallowly as the pain only pushed him forward. Stronger, faster than before, the young man launched his head directly into the Elder's abdomen.

An explosion of force emanates throughout the corridor upon collision. Poison, lightning, metal, fire, and wind all clashed against an entirely decimated Elder Lin's Qi defense. The crunching of internal organs, stench of stomach acid, and scent of blood entered Wei Feng's senses.

"...Uh…" A minute of a sound escaped Lin Tao's lips as his arms fell to his sides. Bodily fluids flowed easily from his mouth like an unpressurized fountain.

"Father!" Shouted a young rabbit girl as she rounded the corner. It was the small girl from before who had tried to kick Wei Feng with tears in her eyes and bruises on her shins.

Lin Tao gave a grimacing smile, a smile of self-contempt, before falling flat on his back.

[ +125,000 EXP for defeating the Advent Soul Stage Cultivator, Lin Tao. ]

Wei Feng stood there bleeding from his side knowing very well that if he hadn't upgraded his technique, Lin Tao could've succeeded in killing him. With a cupped fist, he bowed respectfully toward the deceased Elder who laid peacefully on the floor ahead of him.

"Wei Feng!" Sun-Mae was pointing behind him with one hand and a spear in the other.

She was wielding one of the Sect's treasured armaments.

Straightening out his posture, Wei Feng turned his head to peer over toward the young girl. Parting his lips as he went to speak, he quickly closed his mouth as she looked like she was about to scream.

"My name is Lin Jin! You killed my fath–" Before Lin Jin could even finish speaking, Sun-Mae had already thrown the spear.

The sharp sound of the polearm cutting through the air came right for the teen. A perfect throw, one that was meant to kill mercilessly. Yet just as it was about to tear into Lin Jin's chest captivity, Wei Feng smacked it aside with his sword.

"Wei Feng! Why?!" Sun-Mae called out, "She's going to…"

Lin Jin fell to her knees and as she then dropped forward she rested on all fours. "You killed my father…" Tears were streaming from her face onto the dirt floor threatening to cause a mudslide, "Please spare the rest of my family!"

Wei Feng stared down at her as she knew it was futile to fight him as he by far defeated the strongest person in the Sect.

"Don't be ridiculous!" Sun-Mae marched over to the two of them, "If we let you live your Sect will place a bounty on our heads!"

Wei Feng frowned as he knew part of what Sun-Mae was saying could be true.

"No one alive saw your faces!" Cried Lin Jin now pressing her forehead into the dirt.

"That's a blatant lie," Sun-Mae snapped, "We've left several rabbits alive!"

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Lin Jin continued to cry like a brat of a child.

Wei Feng sighed and squatted down to her level before knotting his fingers in her hair. Pulling her head up from the dirt their eyes locked she sniffled tearfully. She was trembling in his hands, terrified of dying by the same hands that had done in her father.

"With your assistance, we will take your Sect's treasures. Then you will lead us out of here, No one else has to die," Wei Feng instructed with his heart in his throat and his hand putting pressure on his side to stop the bleeding. The guilt was heavy as he knew very much of what he had done, but there was no remorse.

"Afterward, I hope you don't seek revenge against me. If you try, your punishment will be something no woman should have to endure. Kapeesh?" The heavy feeling never left Wei Feng's chest as he made this undesirable threat that he didn't believe he could even carry out.

Lin Jin nearly burst out crying even harder but she was at least able to nod in compliance.

Oddly enough the sighing of relief could be heard throughout the tunnels. Raising a brow, Wei Feng became rather curious as to who else was listening in on what was going on.

Pulling Lin Jin up to her feet by her ears, like a Magician pulling a rabbit from a hat, Wei Feng lead the young rabbit towards the treasure room.

Sun-Mae on the other hand had already quickly retreated into the chamber ahead of them.

As the large double doors closed behind them, Sun-Mae latched the door shut from the inside.

"Uh… This place seems to act as a shelter as well as a treasure chamber…" Wei Feng released Lin Jin's ears and walked into the very center of the room before sitting on his knees.

There were a total of twenty chests and three of them were longer than the others. A closer inspection of the goods revealed there were some more eye-catching items in glass display cases.

"Th-this is my father's collection!" Lin Jin squeaked as she battered her thumbs together, not wanting to upset the two humans. "He had the entire Sect squander the region for these… things…"

Wei Feng didn't turn his head to face her as he pulled a Nourishing pill out of his item box. Popping it into his mouth, he crunched down on it and swallowed shortly after.

The pill turned to liquid on its way down and as it hit his stomach, the revitalizing abilities of the pill filled his entire essence. Accelerated by the power of the pill his injuries slowly faded; all the while more Qi easily flowed into his body and restoring what he had lost.

After a few minutes of just sitting there, Wei Feng shallowed his own breathing and focused on the flow of his meridians. Qi, life energy, was a new feeling compared to the previous life he led.

"Are you alright?" Sun-Mae walked over to Wei Feng and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Wei Feng peered up at her before slowly standing.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Let's have a look at what is in these chests…"

With that, Wei Feng walked over to one of the long chests and kicked its lock off. Like a spring the lid opened a few inches before he swung it the rest of the way back.

Inside were at least 320,000 crystal coins based on the height, length, and width of the box. The chest was made out of valuable dark stained hardwood and the interior had red silk-lining.

Opening his item box screen this time, he peered over the hexagonal shapes that made up item space. The amount of money was at the bottom of his screen: two crystal coins and zero silver. The only items that were taking up space were the eighteen pills and the Mystical Beast Contract.

Ultimately there were sixty-four slots in his inventory due to the large spatial ring. Wei Feng knew that if he had skipped out on the microtransactions, he could've been virtually screwed. Left sixty-two empty slots to be filled.

Since he wasn't on the run and had the time to relax, at least for now, he chose to focus on the last item, the beast contract. 'System, what is this thing for exactly? How is it used?'

[ Mystical Beast Contract | UltraRare | This item forcefully creates a (contract) between the user with a ten thousand year old Mystical or Demonic (Beast Core). Notice: This item cannot be traded to other people or sold in the CC Shop. ]

"That could be useful much later on…" Wei Feng peered over the case one more time before narrowing his eyes on the cash again. There was a lot there and it was more useful in his hands in his opinion as these people appeared to live underground.

If they attacked strangers at will, it was unlikely they purchased anything from other people.

When a notification appeared before him with a question Wei Feng wasn't at all fazed.

[ Do you want to take the crystal coins into your item box? Y / N ]

Nodding to the notification screen that appeared his had moved forward and the spatial ring sucked the coins in. He watched as the counter inflated in number until not a drop was left in the chest.

'So money doesn't count a slot? At least it'll let me walk out with all of this…' Wei Feng mused to himself before peering over at the rabbit girl.

Lin Jin was just sitting curled up in a fetal position with her head on her knees. She appeared to be by the empty display case that the spear had come from.

Shrug, Wei Feng went over to the next chest before breaking the lock off with a sturdy kick.

Inside the container was six bottles of pills and a number of books regarding pill recipes. Each bottle held five pills at most. Picking up one of the glass bottles Wei Feng peered over the pale yellow pills.

Once Wei Feng put these into his item box, he peered over the last bottle that was in the box and focused on it like he did the others.

Wei Feng grinned to himself with a faint hum seeing this item before peering over towards Sun-Mae who was looking over a Jian sword in a silver display case.

"Wei Feng," Sun-Mae briefly locked eyes with the cultivator she had forced into following her.

"Hm?" Wei Feng raised his brows before looking over the weapon from where he stood.

"This display case as a seal on it, do you know any techniques on how to break them?" Sun-Mae asked curiously, though she didn't seem at all to have any real expectations.

"Nope," Wei Feng blurted out before looking back down at the recipes that littered the inside of the chest he was standing over.

"You need my father's blood to open that case without triggering its effects," Lin Jin murmured as she wiped snot from her upper lip.

"Oh?" Sun-Mae grinned as she peered over to Lin Jin, "Why don't you open it then?"

"Wha– What do you mean?" Lin Jin panicked as she stumbled onto her feet, wanting so badly to run for the lathed doors of the treasury.

Seeing the fear in the girl's eyes, Sun-Mae's grin grew wider as she believed she was onto something. "You are his daughter, aren't you? You share his blood."

Lin Jin appeared jarred for a moment with her hands were shaking at her sides. The very idea that she could open the display case blew her mind. "What do you mean?"

"Just come on over here little rabbit and try to open it for me," Sun-Mae held out her hand and flexed her index and middle finger to call her over.

Lin Jin rapidly shook her head, "No! I might die!"

"Blood seals can only be opened by blood relatives," Sun-Mae gestured more aggressively.

Gulping, Lin Jin easily seceded to Sun-Mae's commands and slowly approached.

Wei Feng watched as this went on, before kneeling down in front of the recipes and going through them alone. Picking up a few scrolls, he peered over them as the system told him what they were.

[ Sacred Lotus Pill Recipe | Uncommon | This particular pill allows the consumer to learn a second passive skill path. A consumer can only use this pill once for if used a second time the internal skill will be erased. ]

[ Astral Pill Recipe | Uncommon | This particular pill aids the consumer in astral projection techniques. ]

[ Pheonix Pill Recipe | Common | This particular pill increases the existing affinity for Fire by 15%. ]

[ Body Strengthening Pill Recipe | Common | This particular pill is used to cultivate through the physical domain and increase the effectiveness of external skills. ]

[ Bottleneck Pacifyer Pill Recipe | Uncommon | This particular pill helps the user breakthrough bottlenecks within first edition realms such as the ByProduct Immortal and True Immortal realms. ]

"First Edition?" Wei Feng furrowed his brows at the wording that was given to him as if there were realms above Ascending Immortal Realm's Advent Soul Stage.

Peering over to the two girls, Wei Feng watched as Lin Jin spilled blood from her palm unto the magic seal that coated the display case.

The display box gave a vibrant shimmer before dimming followed by the sound of several internal locks coming undone. A few seconds later and the box sprung open, revealing the sword.

"Told you that it was possible for you to open it," Sun-Mae snickered, "So you're useful."

Sun-Mae snatched the sword from the display case and held it up to the light coming from the fixtures above. "The Bird Mouth Jian Broadsword," she exclaimed as she then lowered the weapon as she looked to Wei Feng.

"Sounds like you found a replacement," Wei Feng tittered to himself as he examined the bird-themed sword from a distance.

"Mhm," Sun-Mae hacked the bladed weapon up and down through the air. Each movement of the shining blade caused a loud whistle each time.

Turning his attention to the other chests, Wei Feng began emptying the treasures into his item box. Things like internal and external skill paths and manuals were easily found in the chests.

Unsurprisingly a number of them were wind-based attribute skills, but none of them were of interest. So, instead of learning any of the skills, Wei Feng sold them in the crystal coin shop of his system for a lump sum of 56,742 CC.

Wei Feng reached the last chest and summarily broke the lock like he had done the others. As the lid swung open his eyes widened as he came across a pill furnace called a dānlú. Beside the furnace was a three-legged cauldron.

Black tiles with speckled with gold flakes, the furnace held the architecture of a miniature four-story Pagoda. Its interior-exterior walls were a dark reddish-brown and at the very top was a singular dragon head gilded in gold.

In contrast to the furnace, the cauldron was sculpted from white-mutton jade. Unlike the pill furnace, this particular item was used to make elixirs that were several times stronger than pills. The three rounded faces of the cauldron were all sculpted with supreme elegance, taking on the form of lotus flowers with pink edges and green bottoms.

Putting both of these masterful items into his item box, Wei Feng turned his attention to the various items in the blood sealed display cases.

"Did you find anything worth keeping?" Sun-Mae padded over to Wei Feng.

"No, not necessarily. Do you have an affinity for Wind or Sound?" Wei Feng turned his gaze to Sun-Mae with a brow raised lightly.

Sun-Mae groaned indifferently, "Only fire and lightning."

Wei Feng noticed her indifferent predicament, "Then there wasn't anything of note."

[ +130,000 EXP is built up. Would you like to spend it on Qi Cultivation? ]

When the system randomly asked him this question Wei Feng raised a brow. Shrugging, the young man decided to nod to himself in response to the question.

There was very little time before a sudden warmth filled him as his meridians widened from the sudden massive influx of Qi. Power flowed under his skin and coursed through his entire body, forcing a smile across his lips from the sensation.

[ Congratulations Wei Feng, you have reached the Silver Core Stage (Meridian)! ]

[ Upgrades for the system will be unlocked during the third phase: Major. ]

Sun-Mae's eyes widened as she felt the sudden surge of energy driving through him. When she had first met him, he hadn't even reached the ByProduct Immortal Realm, but now she was on the same plane as she was.

"How did you catch up to me so fast?" Sun-Mae was almost speechless, her voice cracking at the fact that he hadn't even been using any meditation techniques.

"I'm a genius?" Wei Feng shrugged with a smug look on his face.

"Have you ever even used acupuncture to unlock your latent talents?!" Sun-Mae combed a hand through her hair at his declaration.

"N–No…" Wei Feng's smug expression quickly vanished at the idea of needles being shoved under his skin and into his meridians. "Do I have to?"

Sun-Mae just stared at him in complete disbelief.

"Even I… Even I had that done…" Lin Jin muttered quietly, staring at the man who killed her father and countless older brothers.

"That's the first thing we're doing when we get to the Nest…" Sun-Mae huffed with her arms crossed over her chest and her new sword on her sash-belt.

"What's the Nest like?" Wei Feng tilted his head curiously.

"It's a massive encircled citadel in the center of Winter City," Sun-Mae stole Wei Feng's smugness for her own. "It towers over the City Square."

"Oh?" Wei Feng grinned lightly, "Is it made out of blanched stones?"

Sun-Mae excitedly nodded as she pictured her home, "It is a magnificent fortress!"

"What were you and your posse doing earlier over the farms anyway?"

"Collecting tribute for their protection," Sun-Mae shrugged lightly as if it wasn't a big deal.

"I see," Wei Feng wasn't impressed but he wasn't discontent with the answer as it was something typical of a Sect to do.

"Lin Jin unlock this case would you?" Wei Feng pointed to a sealed display case that held a liuyedao, also known as a willow-leaf saber, inside of it.

With her head held low, Lin Jin strode over to the display case and unlocked it with her blood.

Retrieving the weapon when the lid flung open on its own, Wei Feng observed the sword thoroughly as its blade reflected in his pupils.

[ Would you like to refine the Willow-Leaf Saber with your Jian? ]

Seeing there wasn't a yes or no attached to the system's question, he nodded and awaited its response. That was when a notification rang.

[ Put your Jian into your item box along with the saber. ]

Following the system's instructions, he put the Jian as well as the Willow-Leaf saber into his inventory. Holding his hand out in front of himself, he stretched his arm out in front of him and peered over his ring.

A fleeting shimmer of light turned the jade spatial ring a profound blue hue.

[ Refinement attempt successful: Willow-Leaf Saber +1 Acquired. ]

'I suppose now would be a good time to have a look at the character index…' As if reading his mind the system pulled up what he wanted to see in the form of a translucent screen.

"Eh? My affiliation is Sun-Mae?" Wei Feng was bewildered enough to say it out loud.

"Hm?" Sun-Mae grinned as she cocked her head to the side, wanting to know what he was blabbering on about.

"Nothing," Wei Feng immediately defended as if her curiosity offended him.

Sun-Mae clucked her tongue seeing him bothered, "Oh?"

"Can you leave now?" Lin Jin uttered staring at the two of them.

Wei Feng glanced over at her bleeding palm, before taking a soul-nourishing pill from his item box and handing it to the young cultivator.

"For your wounds."

Caught off guard, Lin Jin let him drop the pill into her palm.

"It's a Soul Nourishing pill. I made it myself," Wei Feng didn't like the fact she was still bleeding.

"I can't possibly…"

"Swallow it," Wei Feng ordered as he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

Nodding slowly, Lin Jin swallowed the pill without water before peering over her healing cut. Her eyes widened as she felt the Qi from their surroundings circulate through her meridians.

Having taken what they wanted, Wei Feng and Sun-Mae unlatched the Treasury Doors.

As the doors were slowly creaking open on their own, the trio made their way out of the room with Lin Jin taking point.

"We're currently ten thousand feet underground," Lin Jin proclaimed what she knew to them.

"We'll be rising to the top shortly…"

Nodding to her words, Wei Feng could see the residents of the burrow were cowering. Many of them seemed to hide behind mine carts, wooden panels, and their own trash piles. Yet even as they were hiding behind rubbish, they bowed respectfully to Lin Jin as if she were someone important.

After a few hours of walking in silence, they reached the outside world.

Taking several steps outside of the burrow, Wei Feng peered down at Lin Jin who had stopped walking. "The other members of your Sect… Why were they bowing to you?"

"You killed the line of succession for Chief," Lin Jin appeared to smile up towards him but the corners of that smile were twitching. "I am the new Chief of the Bunny Burrow Sect."

Wei Feng could see that the girl's little smile was in fact fake.

"Huh…" Wei Feng nodded solemnly to her before opening the CC Shop. Searching for an internal, the foundation technique of a Cultivator's power, he peered over the first that appeared.

[ Unlimited Purity Internal Scroll | Growth | Unlimited Purity is a Wudang Sect internal method that greatly increases the user's base stats and Qi flow with its foundation skills included. The majority, if not all, of its passive abilities, are buffs and debuffs. Most notably it is one of the few Internal Techniques that have the ability to change the user's Spiritual Root. In the form of a mystical scroll, this item converts one's spiritual root into Yin and Yang. ]

[ 25,000 CC ]

Wei Feng purchased the item and took it out of his item box, holding it out for her to take.

Staring at the old mystical glowing ochre yellow scroll, Lin Jin's eyes flickered from the male and back to the item. "Why…?" She gradually held out her hands for the gift.

"Just open it," Wei Feng commanded.

Startled she quickly snatched the scroll and took a few paces back before holding it out in front of herself. Unrolling the fancy piece of charity, those red eyes of hers widened beyond their natural capacity.

"What is–"

Wei Feng watched as the scroll engulfed the girl in majestic warm light before dimming out into nothingness.

Lin Jin stood there feeling the gazes of both Sun-Mae and Wei Feng engrained upon her. She couldn't help but stare at her own hands as such a powerful treasure had vanished. Well, that was until she felt her own Qi pouring through her body. Her stomach twisted and churned as she felt a burning sensation from her spiritual root as it was unnaturally transforming from within.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Lin Jin clenched her stomach and fell to her knees face planting into the dirt.

Wei Feng glanced away from her to take in their surroundings. Whilst they had gone at least ten kilometers away from their starting location in the forest, they were still within a heavily wooded area.

"Sun-Mae, do you know where we are?" Wei Feng went back to flicking through the shop.

"Hm. We're east from Winter City," She pointed to a mountain off in the distance, "We should get within my Sect's territory once we cross over that."

"Crossover… Not around?" Wei Feng didn't look away from the shop as he ignored Lin Jin's continued screams of agony.

"Are you just going to ignore the screaming little rabbit...?" Sun-Mae pointed down to Lin Jin who had her forehead planted in the undergrowth.

"Yes… Her pain is worth twenty-five thousand crystal coins," Wei Feng nodded.

Sun-Mae's jaw nearly dropped hearing the price of the scroll.

[ Map of the Mainland | Rare | Made from white (silk) and marked with golden thread, the (map) in itself is a piece of art envied and sought after by the greatest of artisans, merchants, and scholars. This map shows the entire continent with all of its locations labeled and written in (English) instead of (Chinese). Infused with Qi of the land, the map routinely updates every three days, showing the statuses of Empires, villages, trade routes, and even cities. ]

[ 5,000 CC ]

"Huh…" Purchasing the item, Wei Feng grinned as he pulled the map out of his item box.

However, that grin on Wei Feng's lips vanished the moment he noticed that going over the mountain was the only choice. A single impossible river cuts through the mountain and separates the Winter Rat Sect territory from the Bunny Burrow Sect territory by terrain alone.

Letting out a sigh he narrowed his gaze on the name of the current nation they were in.

[ Empire of the Mist | Is the strongest nation on the continent and holds influence over ten unorthodox Sects. The Empire has formed from the Water and Fire nations respectfully two hundred years ago. It is ruled by the Empress of the Mist, a genius, who commands water and fire spiritual roots. Rumored to be but nothing more than a teenager, she is a puppet ruler controlled by her ministers. ]

"Ah… Nice…" Wei Feng muttered having checked where the nearest village was.

"What is it?" Sun-Mae was balancing the blade of her new sword on her forefinger.

"The closest village is halfway to the Mountain," Wei Feng scratched the back of his head.

Lin Jin's screaming had since been reduced to panting as she rolled onto her side clenching her lower abdomen while sweating profusely. Her eyes stared up at them in an only partially conscious manner.

"Zhou... Jing village…" She murmured under her breath.

[ Zhou Jing Village | This small settlement is inhabited by Moon Hare Demons known for making exemplary Elixers. Though they are within the Bunny Burrow Sect's territory, they declared their independence four decades ago to trade with other Sects. ]

"Doesn't sound all that bad," Wei Feng shrugged his shoulders lightly before reaching down and dragging Lin Jin back into the entrance of her burrow by her ankle.

Once inside, Wei Feng propped her against the interior wall before stepping back outside.

"Don't… Come back… Here… Ever again…" Murmured Lin Jin as she dug a few of her fingers into the dirt by her right side.

"Tch, whatever bunny ears. If you need assistance, don't hesitate to come to find me." Wei Feng snickered at her words as he gestured for Sun-Mae to follow him.

Wei Feng waved his hand over his shoulder as he and Sun-Mae began casually strolling away.
