ANNOUCEMENT!!!

The new rewritten story will be on my profile shortly after this chapter is posted. You can skip the rest if you want but below will tell all why the rewrite is happening and what to expect going forward.

I’ll make this quick! So I got super busy over the past year and honestly haven’t been using my free time to write consistently to my immense shame. The rewrite has been planned since before my year long posting break but actually acting on it took awhile because so many fanfic authors never finish the rewrite and that made me reluctant to start it. That being said I love the idea behind the original, but the execution is something I am just not happy with to the point I’d rather start somewhat anew. I appreciate everybody who has read the original story, I won’t delete it because it holds a special place in my heart but it’s not going to be updated anymore.

So the rewrite is going to have the same skeleton as the original but not nearly the same amount of fat (filler). Main character is still Shogo but my use of first person POV is going to be extremely limited, honestly it was just a pain to keep up with so the new story is largely third person and will follow important plot points.

Should’ve done this in the beginning but I guess was in love at the time with a slow burn multiple POV story that was extremely wordy. I was probably fresh off of reading some well-done, lengthy and translated Chinese fiction novels, not knowing how hard that writing style is to replicate when you’re a new writer lol.

This rewrite will be a lot quicker to the punch and will not take nearly as many chapters or words as the original before we get to the real juicy bits of the story, which I built out nearly four years ago lol. It's going to have the same title, but the synopsis will be rehashed. I am GEEKED to get started because I have an idea for another story creeping in the back of my brain and I’ll be damned if I don’t finish this one first!
