The throne room was ready. Plenty of couches, love seats, tables, and camera drones were prepared for the live stream.

Mayana was not sure why she was here as the second host, with Meriel being the main host, but her mate had dragged her into this as a host instead of being a guest. She was dressed up like a princess, her ornate dress was black with golden threads, highlights, and accents. Meriel was dressed in black and dark purple.

The worst parts were two; there was no script, and she was showing two love bites on her bare shoulder and her request for a scarf was denied. Unlike her, the raiju was wearing her mark with pride. The Princess blushed as it reminded her of what they had done the night before. It had been so animalistic, passionate, and needy. Clearly, her regal elven self had been lost to the transformation.

It had been a very fulfilling experience however, she could feel it in her tails, that it was not a one time occurrence, she was mated now. Mated to that weird raiju.

"Chat opens in 10 seconds, live stream in 9 minutes and 7 seconds," Musashi warned, "last chance to relax."

On the throne, Serenity made herself comfortable on Sillia's lap. "Are you sure we don't need a script?" She wondered, normally all her public appearances were carefully prepared. This one, however, only had the main topics and everything else was done spontaneously.

"We are ready." "Ready." "Prepared." The cores were ready to act as chat moderators. With the trillions of elves and some other racial minorities expected, they were the only ones capable of handling the responses in the chat that the stream offered. They were also tasked with collecting questions for later.

"We have reached a million in the chat," Ayanami announced.

"Most questions are concerning the real time aspect of the stream," Hatsuzuki reported.

Zaria had expected it, as had Serenity, "make sure to introduce the technology first," the floof ordered her hosts.

"Yes, Commander," Meriel confirmed.

"5 minute warning."
"10 million in the chat."
"Topic is shifting between the K.O.N. and our moderators."

Status messages were announced as the event was nearing the start.

"Start in 3, 2, 1," Shinano announced.

The camera drone switched on, focussing on a famous view of a mural on the side of the throne room.

"Welcome, everyone," Meriel greeted the viewers as the drone turned from the mural to the raiju. "Everyone probably saw the pre-stream materials we linked in chat and hopefully had time to take a peek at the newest news that have not yet been distributed across the Eternal Kingdom," Meriel was in her element. Showing the galaxy how superior her new life was. "With me is Princess Mayana, who, like me, had her race changed."

"Nyah," Mayana stepped into the view of the drone and greeted, "meow welcomes everyone watching nyan~" The nekomata suppressed her worry and acted as she had been taught.

Meriel waved her tablet at the drone, "the biggest question out of the way first. Yes, this is live, or as live as can be considering the latency that exists in transmitted data in a planetary network." She stopped for a moment, "I wonder what the worst ping is actually." Her tablet quickly gave a response, "it seems that those who are the worst off have an almost four-second delay, which is practically nothing. My Name is Meriel, and I am the Communications Raiju aboard the S.C. Zaria the Floof. That means I get to wait minutes for responses sometimes."

"Nyan?" Mayana blinked at the raiju. "Meow is surprised nyau so patient."

"I am not. That is just a job issue, without FTL communication, it is not possible to have real time communication with Control or fleets," she waved with her tablet. "In space, you sometimes communicate with fleets or planets that are light seconds or minutes away. Which is why we use directional data-bursts, primarily. Working with the shipcores in realtime is very satisfying."

"Meow thinks space is too large," Mayana admitted. "However, meow thinks that the viewers will want to know myore about nyan technology. The Nyan~ and Kon~," she had gotten a short rundown on it and had studied the available simplified information, the full technical specifications were outside of her knowledge. "The Nyan~ should be the first thing, meow decided."

The raiju nodded, "as our Purrcess Mayanya said, it is time to introduce how this miracle was created." She tapped her screen and the stream chat minimized the two into a corner. "The first part is a N.Y.A.N. satellite. Network Yip Access Node. The core part of the network device consists of a quantum entanglement chip, a quantum computer, and an antimatter generator."

"Meow think Meriel-nyan is leaving too much out," Mayana declared, it was her kingdom, and she was a proud elf, or had been, so she knew a few things to spice it up. "Meow has numbers. Every Nyan~ is worth 61 875 credits nyot counting research cost, taxes, delivery cost, and profit myuu," Mayana pulled up a quick breakdown of a N.Y.A.N. satellite. "The cost comes from the additional components. Like Meriel-nyan said, the Nyan~ is a quantyum computer connected to the quantyum entanglement chip with a communications array." Mayana disagreed on what the core components of the N.Y.A.N. were, "the satellite shell contains a mya antimatter generator, a myu sensor suite, a nyau shield generator, and a nyu propulsion system." She stopped and gave the camera a hopeless smile, "61 875 credits production cost, and about a nyuuh 150 000 credits market nyau."

"I wanted to do the surprise breakdown later," Meriel pouted. "Why don't we give some more numbers? I had a nice table somewhere." The raiju looked through her tablet.

Mayana shook her head at the barely prepared raiju, "I think what Meriel-nyan is looking for is the breakdown of the distribution."

"Found it!" Meriel announced and put up the table she had been looking for.

 

"Yes, there are 2 849 179 satellites currently in use," Mayana announced. "At full cost, 427 376 850 000 credits. At production cost, still 176 292 950 625 credits. Even if it were just the Nyan~ at 21 476 per piece and installed in the existing network structure, it would be 61 146 016 204 credits. Meow think still cheap for a real time nyetwork."

Meriel explained the other set of numbers, the distribution, "how about we break down the number some more? A developed core world needs at least 4 N.Y.A.N.s for stable communication, each core world has 2 for redundancy. A colony world has 2 N.Y.A.N.s with one for redundancy, and a space station has 1 N.Y.A.N. with a spare for redundancy. The gateways have 1 N.Y.A.N. only since they don't have to handle a lot of traffic normally, and they are usually within a three-hour communication range to a core world."

"Meow think people will nyot believe it nyah~" Mayana added. "Meow Kingdom probably wonders why meow sister has allowed such an expense," the catgirl gave a catty smile. "Meow not finished. Meow nyeed to tell everyone that this is a secret and test. Meow sister will tell nyan later~" the purrcess couldn't stop herself from giggling. "Meow should introduce the Kon~"

"The K.O.N.'s other part is the K.O.N. Server," the raiju pulled up a picture and posted it. "Here, you see a hall housing the 2 849 179 quantum chips and quantum cores connecting the N.Y.A.N.s and the large quantum computer responsible for managing the network. Naturally, this is not one computer, but there are actually three quantum computers as redundancies. Did we ever put a price on this room?" Meriel suddenly wondered.

"Nyuu. Meow will ask for a quote," Mayana sent a price request. "The Kon~ server room is upgradable. Bigger quantyum entanglement chips means more data. Each Nyan~ can be upgraded, to up to 16 myuu the current data transfer ability. Meow think it important. But meow think the test first. Tails agree," Mayana blinked and looked back at her tails. "Meow get quote, 21 476 per piece like the N.Y.A.N and about 12 428 582 for the racks and the main server, so total production cost: 352 598 329 832 credits."

"Now that we have covered the network basics, it is time for the real event." Meriel announced with a flourish.

The pair stepped apart and made a gesture with their hands towards the throne. On the stream, the camera view floated between the hands and looked up along the carpet until it reached the throne. The throne that had their Queen seated on her Captain's lap.

"Presenting Queen Serenity Silveria the 98th of the Eternal Kingdom and her Bonded, Captain Sillia Tapten of the E.K.R.G. Serenity 12th, the well known titan from the Galactic war."

"Greetings, my subjects," Serenity greeted everyone with a smile, one that the camera zoomed into. "I am really greeting you live from my royal palace on Solana in the Celestia solar system."

Below the throne, couches were placed and prepared in a classic talk show setup.

"This is a monumental moment for our Kingdom, for the first time in millennia, we communicate in real time. Many of you have already seen the results. Systems in need were quickly helped and invaders were repelled by our mercenary allies of the 'Cores just wanna have Fun' fleet," she nodded towards the cores who were waiting off to the side and managing the stream chat. "I am honoured to present to you my bonded wife, Sillia, who I am sitting on. A war heroine and the one I entrusted myself and our Kingdom to," she gave the uncomfortable woman a kiss on the cheek and gave a satisfied look at the kiss mark on the cheek.

The camera panned back out, showing a small couch and a loveseat beneath the throne. The chat meanwhile exploded with comments.

Serenity rose, with a little assistance from Sillia, she took the offered arm and let Sillia escort her to the love seat instead of the couch. The Queen had decided to indulge herself and show off, "I can guess that many of you are wondering about the recent events." Serenity made Sillia sit first then she sat partially on her bonded snuggling into her side.

Mayana and Meriel sat down as well.

Serenity nodded at the pair, "I am sure a lot of you are confused how two elves have changed race, Zaria's Communication Raiju willingly changed race." She smiled at the raiju, "I have to admit, your tail is really splendid and really fluffy."

"Thank you, Queen Serenity." Meriel perked up, which included ears and tail going up.

"Please call me Serenity like before." Serenity told the raiju.

"Okay, Serenity," Meriel agreed easily, coincidentally causing a wave of outrage in the chat, one for being casual with their Queen, and one for willingly changing her race away from an elf, the most noble race.

"Now, my sister unfortunately had to be punished. Rebellion is punishable by death," Serenity gave her sister a sad look.

Mayana blushed but held herself high, even if she wasn't an elf any more, she still had her pride as a royal.

Meriel openly took Mayana's hand, causing the nekomata to blush deeply.

That was not missed by neither Serenity nor Sillia. "So, you really seduced her," Sillia needled Meriel.

Serenity, however, gave the raiju a grateful smile, "I will leave my sister in your hands. The race change and the exile to the S.C. Zaria the Floof were a good decision, I would have regretted having to order her death."

"Meow is not happy, but meow will manage," Mayana talked about the reality of her situation. "Meow thinks that meow viewers need to hear the history. Meow was not happy and jealous of meow sister," the former elven princess admitted. "Meow did not understand and listened to the now dead or captured nobles. Nyuu shouldn't have. The situation with the shipnyans and their arrival triggered the attack on meow sister," she frowned and wriggled in her seat. "Even tails think that was a nyuu idea."

Serenity looked towards the twitching tails.

Sillia nodded to herself, "so, you managed to get the catgirl sense. It seems to be split between some kind of ear sense and tail sense."

"Meow had Myeriel inform about nyat."

Serenity looked rather interested in the topic.

Meriel saw that and decided to help the topic along a bit, "it seems to be a minor precognitive ability, limited to things that impact the catgirl in question or are within their sphere of interest and understanding."

"Really?" "Nyan?"

"Now I want a catgirl navigator," Sillia let slip, causing laughs and giggles.

"Now, the viewers are really interested in a lot of things, many points that will be clarified later. But we have a lot of questions about the bonding of the two of you, the K.O.N. and the N.Y.A.N.s and who was capable of creating them, and the race change of the two of us. There are also a lot of slurs against the two of us for abandoning the noble elven race." Honestly, Meriel did not give a fuck. She was however diplomatic enough not to say it aloud, "I will address the last part for myself, since I made my choice willingly."

Meriel rose, and channelled her lightning, "I have been given a race that has powers beyond those of an elf. I am taking magic lessons, PSI lessons, and training in my power and job. The power I was granted is something I have always dreamed about, and now I have it, and I am learning to control it."

The tablet popped a message. Mayana read it and pointed at the raiju, "Nyah, magic is real. As shown in the video from meow attack on meow sister, the spirits and magic have returned to our world." She poked the fluffy tail of the sparkly raiju, yelping as she shocked herself, causing the fur on her ears and tails to poof out, "stop showing off, nyuu, and sit back down."

The chastised raiju wilted and sat back down, causing snickers all over the Kingdom. She helped her mate to smoothen down the fur.

Serenity released one of the royal secrets, "a long time ago, the magic started retreating from the world. We, the royal family of the elves, kept our magic, even as the millennia passed, our magic was severely weakened as magic was replaced by our PSI powers. Through the millennia as magic retreated, our psychic power grew and technology found incredible breakthroughs, things impossible before became possible, however, many things that had been possible before have stopped being possible." She pointed at Meriel, "she owns a bag with a stable spatial fold. What is the ratio of space?"

Meriel simply shrugged, "I haven't found the limit yet. I know that it is larger than when it was a PSI fold, I packed my whole flat when I moved to a larger one, and it did not feel full. Now, I keep things in there since I don't feel like unpacking."

Mayana's head snapped to her lover, "Nyah? Meow flat is already nyau cluttered, and you have more?"

"About three times more," the raiju bragged without any remorse.

Serenity looked from one to the other, "I guess that she has a lot of possessions?"

"Myu of the rooms was turned into a wardrobe the size of one of meow," Mayana explained. "Meow found another room filled with accessories and novels, manga, and anime."

Meriel nodded in agreement, "you forgot the room with the figurines and cosplay items."

Sillia gaped at the raiju, "I mean, I knew you were a hardcore fan. But this is far more than I expected. At least, you can easily upgrade your home."

"No, a larger one means more cleaning," The raiju crossed her arms before her chest in a clear denial gesture. "And to any of you declaring my hobby a waste of time. I don't care, I got a change of race, I am learning my powers from teachers beyond your mortal understanding, and I have a place in the crew of the greatest power of the universe. So your unwanted comments are beneath my notice." She looked off-screen to the cores, "any comments about that don't need to be collected, and feel free to ban anyone insulting me."

Mayana tried to get things back on track. "Does meow sister want to say anything else before we properly start the story by introducing the next guests?"

Serenity pondered for a moment, "I think the royal secret was enough of an introduction. I doubt we need to revisit the galactic war. However, we need to revisit a secret that has been kept for years. There are regions of space that were deleted from the public galactic maps," Serenity nodded at her bonded. "It is in one such zone that the events began that led to me meeting Sillia, my wife."

Sillia nodded, "years ago, a large sector was destroyed in the galactic war, and littered with wrecks. Such zones are called forbidden zones. I was part of the forbidden zone guardian fleet. I was the commander of the E.K.A.F. Silver Arrow, a dreadnought. There were some discrepancies in the wreckage from the war. It meant that a long term mission was made with defensive capabilities. Everything seemed normal and stable until one day, someone trespassed, actually there were two trespassers, one was there before the fleet, the other came afterwards," Sillia smiled wryly. "On 11.09.933 AGW, someone infiltrated the Forbidden Zone."

Meriel interrupted her, "Can we keep the name and details out for the time being? I wanted to introduce her properly, but she is really shy right now."

Everyone looked off stream where Tia was clutching Zaria's tails, her tuna, and was looking very pale. It had hit her that over a billion people were watching, and the number was still rising.

"That is fine," Sillia agreed. "Admittedly, we overreacted and attacked the actually harmless intruder. That awoke the weird one. That was another date I will never forget, 20.09.933 AGW," Sillia turned to stare at Zaria.

"That is the perfect moment to introduce her. Zaria, the avatar of the shipcore of the Leviathan S.C. Zaria the Floof, Commander of the 'Cores just wanna have Fun' Rank 4 Mercenary Fleet, and mate of the one who woke her and caused the start of all this. Tia Koczica, catgirl scientist and owner of the P.S.V Listening Kitty, a class 1 science vessel that went to explore the forbidden zone in search of nanites," Meriel announced.

The camera panned out, showing an albino with nine fluffy tails and fluffy ears in a ceremonial shrine maiden outfit, that most did not recognize but felt it was a ceremonial outfit, and a catgirl in a kimono, not that most elves knew what a kimono was. The catgirl was nervously clutching several tails and a large plush tuna. She was led along gently by the owner of the tails. The pair found a small couch and sat down, with Tia sitting on Zaria's lap and trying to hide herself with the many tails and her tuna. It looked really endearing.

"Hello, everyone," Zaria waved at the camera. "Some of you have already met me, sort of. I am the stream chat administrator ZariaTheFloof. Forgive my mate, she is having stage fright."

Sillia felt a bit vindictive, "Technically Tia, who is feeling shy and hiding, did exactly what we were meant to prevent. She awakened forbidden technology."

"Let me reintroduce myself. Zaria, shipcore, nanite, hive, and PSI leviathan mothership." Zaria raised her hand, grew a leaf, made a nanite swarm, and levitated their couch closer to the others.

"Nyah forgot, creator of the Kon~ and the Nyans," Mayana reminded them.

"I made the primary plans, there were several optimizations and miniaturizations that were done by an engineering team that had my Tia in it," Zaria bragged, making Tia hide her face with one of Zaria's tails.

Serenity snorted, "After you defeated and captured my fleet to save a catgirl from an overreaction. You went and seduced her."

"And after I returned your fleet to you, you went and seduced the one sensible captain in the whole fleet," Zaria countered.

"I know quality when I see it," Serenity agreed. "It is a pity that you got to her crew first, most of the ones that left the fleet were from her ship."

"It is a very curious mix of people on her ship, her current ship included," Zaria gave an amused smile. "After all, Sillia is serving Queen Serenity the 98th on the Serenity 12th."

Sillia groaned at the pun.

Serenity took it in stride, "she served me personally aboard it."

"Nyuu sister, shameless nyau!" Mayana blushed and interrupted.

"I was one of those that changed ships, and like I said, I never regretted it," Meriel admitted. "I got a job and Zaria started awakening shipcores. We have them in the data that we transmitted, but here they are." Meriel wanted to prevent a bragging fight between Serenity, Sillia and Zaria.

"I am Vestal, shipcore of the S.C. Vestal, dreadnought repair ship," The nun shipcore received curious comments about her clothing. She sat on a second couch.
"I am Shinano, shipcore of the S.C. Shinano, titan carrier. I am Zaria's second mate," the floof snuggled into Zaria's other side, and covered Tia with more tails.
"I am Hiryuu, shipcore of the S.C. Hiryuu, titan carrier," the bun sat next to Vestal, her serious look being surprisingly popular in the chat.
"I am Ayanami, the shipcore of the S.C. Ayanami, destroyer battleship," she looked younger, her cyber ears and sensors made many elves uncomfortable as they were not fond of body replacements, though her chest size was on a normal elven level.
"I am Shimakaze, the shipcore of the S.C. Shimakaze, destroyer battleship," the smaller bun in the elaborate dress caught the attention of many people, her chest size was relatable to elves as well.
"I am Hatsuzuki, the shipcore of the S.C. Hatsuzuki, dreadnought battleship," the oni avatar caught a lot of attention, the slightly feral smile reminding many of dark elves. Not surprising, considering the oni got along with the dark elves really well.
"I am I-19, the shipcore of the S.C. I-19, destroyer battleship and stealth bomber," the catgirl was bustier than most catgirls elves had seen, and seemed rather friendly.
"I am Musashi, sister to Shinano and shipcore of the S.C. Musashi, titan battleship," the busty floof was intimidating and yet friendly at the same time.

"It was an adventure, but the forbidden zone was cleaned up, and I found more cores," Zaria admitted to nothing illegal. "To make them more than warships, I gave them avatars like I have. Now, we are both ships and people," Zaria explained. "Our goal is to explore the galaxy. But we will defend ourselves and those we care about."

"A very beneficial relationship, without you, I would probably be imprisoned or dead and the wisdom of our ancestors on the way to being lost," Serenity added. "This live broadcast would be impossible without you, as well."

"The technology already existed," Zaria deflected. "I simply used it far more efficiently. Quantum entanglement has been a theory for over 5 000 years, antimatter reactors are common, quantum computers are high-tech but are common enough, sensors and communications systems are even older, the propulsion system is fine-tuned for the satellites, and the shield generator is simply streamlined and high-tech. I heard about the price of the N.Y.A.N. satellite and that simply means that my production capabilities are superior," Zaria was shameless about her superiority, "but it is mostly possible, even the deployment is possible without the magic I used to teleport the satellites across the Eternal Kingdom. I did that for a reason that will be explained later, or rather the reason why I did that, will be."

"With this, we have returned to the live broadcast as the topic," Meriel observed. "Understandable since it is a historic event, something that hasn't happened since races have expanded beyond their solar systems."

"Now, it is time for the first live stream chat questions," Meriel announced.

Mayana disagreed partially, "meow think any questions already covered or in meow materials can be ignored." She looked at her tablet and saw the most popular questions delete themselves, "meow saw the 'What are your intentions?' that Zaria-nyan already explained. Meow found a question," she gave her sister a catty grin. "How did myu and Sillia meet? Meow think new meows who come to stream want to know."

Serenity nodded, not having actually explained that, "I met Sillia by accident, actually. I wanted to meet the captain of the ship that managed to return with antimatter missiles despite having fired them. That led to me meeting Sillia and ordering her to find Zaria and find out her intentions towards our Kingdom," Serenity gave her bonded a smile. "After she returned and reported to me, she actually obeyed my order to treat me casually. That awakened my interest in her," Serenity smiled. "Later, I visited her and seduced her."

Sillia wanted to complain that Serenity ate her snacks and took advantage of her being drunk, not that she minded since Serenity was a beauty, but it was still a fact that Serenity had taken advantage of her.

Miriel nodded in agreement, "That fits what I know about my ex-captain. She doesn't seduce on purpose, but always gets seduced."

"Yes, my fellow co-wives agree with that, and we all were usually the active partners."

"Nyah?" Mayana had heard the rumours, but hearing it now meant something. "Meow heard Sillia-nyan has a lot of lovers?"
