Hiya there!
I really want to proceed with a frequent chapter release, but 1 chapter of mine takes about 3-4 hours for me to type, that without rereading and some editing, and as I had said in chapter 10, English is not my native language nor is writing my best talent.
Each of my chapter would usually have 2500+ words, I had contemplated about doing an average of a thousand words each but I don't feel comfortable with short chapters. At the start I dumped about 5 chapters to start off, and now I'm left with 1 unpublished chapter hehehehe(Nervous laughter)
So I'll probably do 1 chapter every 2 or 3 days, I'll do my best to do 1 chapter per 2 days so that's about 3-4 chapters per week. This is also so I would be able to write some extra chapters, maybe 1 or 2 per week for storage or other purposes.
Though as compensation for the almost 4 days of no updates, I'll post another chapter tomorrow before I start with the new schedule. (>.<)

With a patreon there are two things.
1. You can get an editor and which will help with your efficiency. Not having to worry about editing as much. Let's you just get the ideas out faster.
2. You have to take into account your popularity when starting patreon early. Because I have seen authors overestimate the value of their chapters. Price can be increased later, as long as it remains reasonable.
Some food for thought.
Addendum 1. Also once you are popular enough, you can pin a comment after each chapter asking people to reply to it with any typos and basically crowdsource your editing even more efficiently.
Addendum 2. I've been a patreon for a couple dozen authors over the past 2 years and $1 or $2 for the first chapter is pretty good, followed by $5 for a second chapter and $10 for a third chapter.
3. You are right to keep the word count up. The last thing people want is to fork out money for something they can read in a few minutes. If possible you should even try to get it up to 5,000-10,000 words per chapter over time as you develop your writing style more. Even just doing 500 more words per chapter on average each month will help reach those goals so no need to rush it.
As long as you dont force yourself go ahead i hope you dont overwork author san! Im even fine with one chap a week i have all the patience i need heck i was even able to wait for a month for a single chapter! Once a week is a piece of cake!
I would be more then willing to help edit
