Day 1 : November of Year One

It was among the worst times of the year to be forced into a wanders life-style. Indeed, Rye had not expected it, and certainly he was not happy about it. The fact that the foreboding winter air had chilled the hillsides a sharp 20 degrees overnight made it no better. The gloom of the the depressingly overcast skies blocked out the sun in an unhappily greyish day.

Rye spent the day slowly moving to the lower elevations, searching halfheartedly for small game (finding none, of course), except for a small patch of vegetables that he ate with little relish. He curled up to sleep in a depression of earth half filled with week-old dead leaves, trying to think--although in vain--for a solution to his imminent dililema.

Day 2 : Novemeber of Year 1

Although the weather showed no signs of relieving its overcast gloom, it was a strangely fortunate day. Rye found a partly eaten carcass of what appeared to be an old sickly doe caught in the snags of a small hillside stream, somehow still carrying a significant sum of meat on its scraggly bones. Indeed, it was a soggy and particuarlly freezing (also quite old) slab of deer meet, but Rye was too concerned with his stomach to really care for pickiness.

Enough meat remained to last Rye for about two days, so after eating his fill, Rye spent a small portion of time burying the rest of the carcass in the ground for later.

Even still, Rye was restless. Over the night, he had resolved to attempt to track former packmates that had left before the fragmentation of their entire pack. It was an excessively uncomfortable afternoon, waiting for his stomach to digest and knowing that with each minute, his former companions were moving further and further away. But his insticts knew better: that in the face of an upcoming winter, every ounce of fat would count for the chance of survival.

Day 3 : November of Year 1

The overcast skies turned into rain today, effectively crushing Rye's previous plan to track the scents of his packmates. Indeed, the light rain effectively washed away whatever lingering weak scents that could have possibly gave hin a chance in his quest. The probabilty for reunion was certainly now close to zero.

Thus Rye grumpily stuffed himself with what remained of the soggy deer carcass, and continued his trek down to the lower valleys of the hills, where hopefully more wolves would reside.

Day 4 : November of Year One

The rain plattered on through the night, dripping in unsteady but fat droplets from the roof of leaves above his nesting site. Come morning, however, it had cleanly stopped raining, and Rye woke in groggily in a sort of confusion as he thought he smelled rabbit amid the disorienting smell of wet earth, in his sleep. Surely enough, Rye's nose was true, and he spent the first hours of the morning chasing a mad rabbit about with half closed eyes, before it disapeared down its hole.

But Rye continued on the day without protest, as his full stomach was still satisfied from the previous day. It was a little nostalgic, as he knew perfectly well that beyond that particular crest of hills, it would be the furthest he had every laid a pawstep away from home.

To the eastern bank of hills, Rye steered clear of by instinct, familiar with the pack that claimed that land as their territory; indeed, they had not been on good terms with Rye's former pack, and bitter fights for the disputed borderlands had fixed the members of each pack with intense hatred for the other.

With that thought, Rye imagined the fervored celebrations their rival pack must be undergoing at his pack's disintegration. Doubtlessly, he figured that by now, they and other rival packs would be ripping apart at what remained of his pack's former territory. Should he turn up on their territory now, Rye doubted he'd be treated amiably.

As night fell, a layer of fog blanketed the earth. Rye fell asleep thinking about how indeed it was the farthest he had ever been from home, and how much farther he would mean to travel.

Uhrplu. So TWR is inactive. Sort of. Yeah, actually, it is.

Mostly because wez sa admin-less. Basically that means anyone who joins and decides to make a char, can't actually ACTUALLY be accepted. It also means that a good 98% of our threads are dead, since 98% of all threads consist of members that decided to pass on to another life...... T.T

so.

Muffinz, as the official lurker of TWR, is thinking. Basically, TWR has no chance of breathing, unless W◼ decides to come back to life, or if basically all the threads and plots go byebye and are completely redone.

but that's hard.

so. since muffinz is basically talking to himself as of now (MAYBE S◼ is reading this), muffinz contemplates the lurkingness of muffinz.

uhrplu.

Muffinz REALLY wants to RP. But he's too lazy to make posts that no one will reply to. :[

Muffinz hath been clicking around a lot lately. Amazingly, on that affiliates bar that's mostly of dead sites, he found Isle Himaryn that's active and mostly going well. And also other wolf-like sites that are out there.

But muffinz doesn't really WANT to switch. Likez, muffinz likes how TWR is small (lol, it's EMPTY). And he doesn't wanna ditch poor 'ttle Rye and his diary thing.

Day 5 : November of Year One

The sun rose with a certain glow on the dawn of the new day. For the first time in what felt like weeks, Rye found himself awake and watching with silent eyes the sunrise, its rays of light shedding a kind of peace to all corners of the earth--a feeling greatly welcomed through the midst of the chaos that had ravaged the previous days.

In a sense, it was an optimistic look on a newer future, away from the occasionally unnerving society that marked previous pack life. But it was sentimental as well, to watch the sunrise that pierced the night sky, just as he had done with ritual regularity in the past. Only, it was a significantly different feeling.

Rye had left home.

It struck him now, more than ever, because everything that he loved and felt and cared for was gone. Gone with the little bits and pieces of goodness that trickled away with each single wolf that disapeared across the horizon.

And it would never return, like the way it was before. Soaring across the cloudless blue skies as morning turned to a warm beautiful afternoon, the past was gone. Try as Rye might, time spent in the past could never be taken back. But to let go of his memories or his hopes for reunion; Rye could never do.
