Chapter 48
In three days, the full moon would descend on Mystic Falls, and the ritual to break the hybrid curse would occur. I was currently making sure everything was prepared, finding a spot far enough away from the town to make sure we would not be disturbed, while also being far enough away from where the werewolves would be.
A decent-sized natural clearing with a perfect view of the moon, when at its apex, the moon would be unobstructed. Allowing the witch that would break the curse to channel the power of the full moon and use it with the moonstone and the sacrifices to break the curse. A lot of preparation for one ritual, though hopefully in the end it would be worth it.
The past week and a half had flown by, mainly in preparation, yet I continued with my life away from that. I had a job at the high school that managed to keep my mind off the ritual looming over all our heads. I knew that even after the curse was broken he would try to kill Elena, especially when he found out he could not make hybrids from his blood alone.
In the show, Klaus tried to kill Elena after he found he could not make hybrids, wrongly assuming that she had to be dead for him to be completely free of the curse. I knew that was not the case, though I would be unable to convince him of that; instead, I would have to stand between him and the doppelganger. Elijah would side with him and attempt to kill Elena after the ritual, so I would have to fight them both.
The thought did not concern me too much, especially at the moment, as I was teaching a class. Teaching took my mind off the insanity that was the supernatural world for a scant few moments. History naturally came to me, I suppose, when you live through a thousand years of history, you would take an interest in it. At least a small interest, though I had taken a far larger interest, keeping a track of all I had lived through was easy with my near-perfect memory, and it was extremely useful in teaching. When I finally got a proper moment of peace from the chaos of my family perhaps I might write a history book, one that would cover as much as I could cram into it.
I looked around at my class, hostile looks were shot at me from Tyler Lockwood, since I had killed his uncle, he had been wary, though that did not extend to the looks he shot my way. Next to him sat Matt, perhaps my only student who seemed to show no real care about me, not hate, disgust or anything positive, just normal, boring neutrality.
Vicki, the young vampire who had returned to classes completely sat behind Matt, hesitant looks shot at me between the bored looks around the room. Stefan sat next to her, caution and suspicion evident on his face, never once looking directly at me, obviously still fearful from the couple of previous interactions we had. Then there was Bonnie, who looked extremely bored, compared to the magic I taught her, history would be boring, especially since she was so far ahead.
The last two students who caught my interest were Caroline and Elena. Both of the young woman's eyes never left me, following my every movement like it was the most important thing to them. Each time my eyes met either of there's they shot me smirks and winks, almost daring me to respond, too shoot one bank. Yet I did not, knowing full well that it would cause nothing but trouble if I were caught.
The bell rang and my last class of the day filed out, the students rushing to be the first out of the door. With the last of my students disappearing through the door, the moments of peace disappeared, bringing me back to my previous thoughts.
The door creaked back open and I saw the familiar face of Alaric Saltzman walking through the door. I had made sure not to get too familiar with the man, as his hatred of vampires could prove annoying. Yet I had not gone out of my way to be hostile to the man or even to try to lessen his hatred of vampires, mainly because the vampire that his hate was directed at was Damon. Honestly, it was amusing watching his attempts to hunt Damon, yet having no luck in killing the vampire as of yet.
"Mr Saltzman, what can I do for you?" I asked the man a greeting. I turned to face the man and instantly knew that something was wrong, the psychotic smile he wore and the madness in his eyes being the complete opposite of everything I had seen from him. I stood as he came closer, reading each of his actions, trying to figure out what was wrong with him.
Then it hit me, it wasn't Alaric, the smile, the madness in his eyes, the insanity that seemed to radiate off of him. I knew exactly who it was.
"Klaus", at that, his smile widened. His body-hopping trip from the show, he had taken it up here as well. I remembered him causing chaos in the show while wearing the face of Alaric, it seems as though he wanted to do the same here.
"You saw through my disguise", he laughed out. "It's hard to disguise your madness", I responded, gaining another laugh from him. "Are you not happy to see me, brother" he continued laughing as he spoke.
"No" I responded. The tension in the air was palpable. I knew that in Alaric's body, Klaus would not risk a fight; he was too weak. But my brother was also unlikely to walk into a room without some kind of plan, doubly so when someone who was stronger than him was in said room.
"Hijacking bodies now, brother, did you misplace yours?" I said mockingly. "I just wanted to look around Mystic Falls without giving myself away, though you seem to have destroyed that want", he responded. He was lying; it was obvious that he didn't want to look around Mystic Falls, not really. Most likely he wanted to spy on the rest of us, to see what our capabilities are. Unfortunately for him, no matter what face he wears, I can recognise him, even if it takes me a few minutes to see through the disguise, I will always do so.
He smiled again, "Have you got my doppelganger?" he asked, knowing full well I did, yet wanting me to confirm it. "Yes, you know I do, otherwise you would not be here, would you?" I responded. Klaus walked around the room, examining its contents with casual interest "No, I wouldn't. It's good to know you have gained some intelligence and sided with me", he said with a slight smile.
I responded with a slight nod, ignoring his insult. "Teaching, I never took you for a teacher", he said, changing the topic of the conversation. "I was always good at teaching and it's history, it's relatively easy when you have lived through most of what you teach" I responded honestly.
He smiled again at that "I suppose that makes sense", he said. "Though don't allow your fondness for your students to make you do anything stupid during the ritual", he said before turning to leave.
I watched him leave with annoyance inside me and slight anger at Klaus's words he and Elijah share in their arrogance.

How about using ashes of white oak like Daliah did to fight two originals? They are very vulnerable to strong defensive magic too. Ashes won’t kill them only weaken them
Well the daggers where destroyed so the ash by itself could be used. But it will probably just me magic that is used
