After having my delicious hot meal of chicken soup. I slumped against the sofa contended. The soup warmed me up as well as filled me up.

I rubbed my belly in satisfaction and even let out a modest burp.

Eris the goddess of death sat beside me and she was poking her bowl of soup.

It's frozen solid.

The moment that happened I gasped in shock then I couldn't helped but burst out laughing. As soon as Eirs touched the piping hot bowl of soup, it began to cool down rapidly and was in no time encased in ice.

She was not amused that I laughed. She used her powers on me and I couldn't help but cry out in shock and pain at the sudden biting cold on my arm .

"Ouch! What was that for?" I frowned.

"You laughed at me."

I looked at the frozen bowl of soul and I really tried not to laugh but I couldn't help but let out a snicker. Also the way, she's pouting right now even if it's was bit frigid was a little adorable.

Almost made me want to pinch her puffed up cheeks. The only thing stopping me was the fact that I might lose my hand in the process.

Still you know how the saying goes.

"Curiosity killed the cat."  I couldn't help but mumble as on its own accord my finger tried to poke her face.

I held my breathe as I watch in horror as my finger went closer and closer, close enough to actually touching her cheek.

Her eyes watch me slowly and then she opened her small mouth.

*Chomp*

Just like that my finger was held captive inside the mouth of the terrifying being called the goddess of death.

Cold.

That was the first thing that came to mind. But that was quickly over shadowed by the overwhelming thought of how cute she is.

She must have heard my thoughts as I could see her neck and cheeks begun to flush with colour. Colour that made her seem more alive since the first time I laid my eyes on her.

She looked at me and I couldn't but gaze back at her. There was a palpable tension in the air. There was something hidden in her eyes as she looked at me, this primal need.

It scared me.

It caused all the hair on my body to stand in attention. I gulped and she smirked at me. There was a twinkle in her dark inhuman eyes. As her teeth clamped onto my finger gently, and her tongue brushing the underside of my finger.

I just sat there transfixed at this strange thing that's happening right now. Her tongue moving ever so sensually, each movement of her tongue sent shivers down my spine.

There was a hunger in her eyes. The moment she let my fingers escape from her captivity, she looked at me with need. She licked her lips as he hear face move closer to mine.

My eyes widened and I just sat there, frozen still. I even forgot to breathe.

Her lips ghosted across my jaw line. The sensation cold and biting. She began to take little nibbles, nipping my skin lightly. I could feel the smirk dancing on her lips.

"Well... since I can't have any of the food you made me. I think I shall have you instead."

She whispered ever so quietly. But the words echoed inside of my head like the booming of thunder.

Loud and deafening.

"I.. uhh.."

I swallowed. Trying desperately to think. My mind confused and muddled by what's currently happening.

"I.. don't .. think.. that's.. a good idea.." I murmured softly.

She chuckled softly at that. Her cold inhuman lips just resting at the corner of mine.

"Besides.. it's hardly my fault that your food is frozen solid."

"Hmmm..."

That was all I heard before her lips pressed upon my own.

It was soft at first. Then there was this deep soft grow that came from her. It made me gasped in surprised. She nibbled on my lower lips that made me moan.

Her arms wrapped around my neck as her hands held on to the back of my head as she hungrily attacked my lips. Her tongue dominated my own as she wrestled it down with ease.

She snogged me for what felt like eons, I was even feeling light headed due to the lack of air.

When we parted, she pressed her forehead against mine. Eyes are wide with excitement.

I looked at her, my face still frozen in shock. Heart beating fiercely against my chest as my breathing became fast l and heavy.

"That was...."

"Amazing.."

She finished cheekily, licking her lips.

I touched my lips absentmindedly. The taste of her still lingering in my tongue. Refreshing and minty.

She looked like she was raring to have another go at violating my lips as her eyes focused on my lips again. I could see her moving again planning to have another taste.

But we were interrupted by the loud blaring sound of my phone. Someone was calling me.

It was the factory.

"SHIT!!" I cursed loudly as I tried to get up to answer the phone call. Eris the goddess of death however had other ideas, she had this look on her face that  says 'I'm not moving and you can't make me'.

I sighed. I was in trouble. I completely forgot I have work today.

I answered the phone.

"Hello."

It's Hanna on the phone, one of the managers.

Luckily she's one of the nice ones. She asked me routine questions like why I wasn't at the factory etc.

I just made the usual excuse of someone who had too much to drink the night before and now has a banging hangover. I told her that I was extremely unwell and that I couldn't even muster the energy to call as my head was spinning.

She just told me to make sure I call next time as soon as possible so that they could get someone to cover my shift.

But Eris suddenly grabbed my phone. There was this anger in her eyes. Her stare was cold and deadly. I looked at her in confusion.

She bared her teeth as she crushed my phone with her bare hands.

"My phone!" I gasped.

I turned to face her angrily.

"What was that for!" I shouted, demanding an answer.

Eris just stared at me. This cool steely look.

"A girl Daniel! You were talking to a girl!"

She seethed as threw my crushed phone hard across the wall. My poor phone whistled close past my face with great speed and strength that I had no doubt it would have knocked me out, or worse dented my skull.

And I was right. The phone exploded upon hitting the wall. The wall itself now has a very visible chunk missing.

"I don't understand!" I whispered softly. Still confused on whatever set her off.

"Do you have other females?"

"Huh? What?"

"Who was that on the phone!"

She raised her monotone voice and even slammed her fist denting the right arm on my arm chair.

My arm chair!!

I can understand that she's throwing a childish tantrum. A very dangerous tantrum. I almost forgot that she was something dangerous. Just because she has been amiable with me so far.

"God! Eris!" I replied in exasperation.

I even pinched the bridge of my nose.

"That was one of my managers! I DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND WHY YOU'RE MAD AT ME!" I couldn't help shout the last bit out.

"Are you sure?"

"Argh!!" I sighed in exasperation.

I did not want to get agitated with her so I wanted to get some fresh air to cool down a little bit. I don't want to vent out my anger on her because that might be the last thing I'll ever do.

I tried to leave but she was not having any of it. She held me down preventing me from moving.

"Why was she calling you?"

She pressed

Is she serious?

I looked at her incredulously.

"Yes."

"Because I missed work today and she just called me to ask why. Is that good enough? Did you really have to smash my phone? You know I'm paying monthly for that and I still have one year left on the contract. Ahh.. I don't even have insurance of that phone."

I looked at it's crumbled remains with sadness.

"Why do you need to work?"

"Because I need money. Money so I can still live here. Money so I can buy food so I don't starve." I explained patiently. I thought it was weird that she was asking me these obvious questions but then I realised that she probably doesn't know most basic common sense here.

I mean after all she isn't exactly something that should exist on earth.

"So you need money, yes?"

I simply nodded.

Eris just suddenly disappeared.

I looked around stupefied at where she has gone to.

"Eris!!" I called out.

I shouted out her name calling for her while searching around the entire house but she was nowhere to be seen.

I had a bad feeling about this.

***

I waited for about half hour just trying to see if Eris was going to come back. But after awhile I just shrugged my shoulders and just decided that the house needs a bit of cleaning.

I looked around the living room and there were no signs of those black liquid things that filled the entire space of the living room.

Eyeing the coffin that lay in the corner of the room, I wet a cloth and decided to clean its surface. It did look a bit dusty after being here for a couple of days now.

I was still a bit wary but I was kind of restless with the sudden disappearance of Eris and I figured cleaning would take my mind off things.

The coffin looked the same from the first time it mysteriously occupied a space in my living room. Except for a little bit of dust here and there. Nothing signified that there was an extraordinarily dangerous being that came out from within its depths.

The words that etched into its wooden exterior were still there. I sat down beside it and absentmindedly started tracing the words with my finger.

It felt coarse and the edges are sharp.

I felt curios of what the inside of it looked like. The key was still in the lock and I turned the key to unlock it.

The chain slid off the wooden body of the coffin and fell to the floor  with a clang. I lifted the lid, it lifted easily but the hinges then groan when I was just halfway up, which honestly made me jump.

I gasp as I see a stone stairs that looked like it leads to the depths of the earth. Relying on my eyesight alone, I could only see a few steps before the rest of the staircase disappear in the darkness.

I gulped and backed away as my mind was daring me to go down there.

I tried to stand up and just close the lid back up. But I might have stood a bit too fast as I suddenly feel light headed. I staggered and my body swayed sideways and I couldn't get my balance back on times

My arms flailed trying desperately to hold on to something to stop my fall.

Two dainty hands grabbed from behind. I felt the familiar cold.

Eris..

"Where have you been?"

"Taking care of the money issues so you don't have to work at the factory anymore." She said simply.

I couldn't help but scrunched my face in confusion. I have a bad feeling about this.

"Okay?"

"I can feel that you doubt my words little anchor. Turn around."

I could feel that she was smirking by the sound of her voice. I definitely, certainly have a bad feeling about this. I felt her easing up her hold on me but she didn't unwrapped her arms around me, just gave me enough room to manoeuvre around. My jaw dropped and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Hundreds of disembodied souls were behind her bowing their heads and in their incorporeal hands were bags. I gulped, I really hoped she didn't. I really  really hope she didn't. The hundreds of disembodied souls are shocking for sure and something that needs to be discussed and asked about later, but now, there was a more pressing concern.

"Eris, you beautiful goddess of death. Please tell me you didn't rob a bank..."
