Leeki had the devil of a time fixing Greadles scuttled ship. Enderheim's sabotage was quite effective, but not irreparable. The two charges had shattered the Power Crystals but nothing else.

But, without proper jewel-cutting equipment, Leeki had to resort to cutting them with his Power alone. While not perfect, it would have   to do.

Time was short. Even through the thick walls and barriers, Leeki could sense a terrific fight going on above him. The Hundred was trying  to break in, he could tell. A barrier of some sort was holding them back. Unlike the others, Leeki had no illusions about his chances if the Hundred joined Amok. His hands fairly shook in his haste.

Sweat poured off Leeki in sheets as he grasped the Power crystal in a hawklike fist. "You can do this," he thought silently and steeled his mind. Shaping a crystal without cutting equipment was, for most, the sheerest folly. If it didn't blow up in his hand, it might blow up when he applied pressure to it in the matrix chamber. His hand began to glow with a whitish-blue intensity. Leeki grit his teeth and held on to the spell.

Two minutes later, Leeki held the glowing sphere up in triumph. Smiling savagely he dropped it into the matrix chamber and secured the lid. How many Kurnans could shape a Power crystal with their mind alone? HAH!

Holding his breath, Leeki eased Power into the ship's system, wincing as he sensed the wobbly energy grid. He quickly went to the console and started pressing buttons, his hands flying. Slowly the power core settled down to an acceptable level and he teased out more Power and started warming up the D- Space drive.

Leeki eased the spymasters' ship away from Wolf Zero. He didn't owe anyone in the station anything, he thought. Rokiki had saved him truly, but only to use his skills for his own ends. Leeki wanted no part of whatever it was they had in mind.
Blinking puzzledly, Leeki studied the Tapestry. He manipulated the controls for several moments. Where was he? This is not his home Universe. He'd never seen anything like it.

Moving away, he eased on some speed, sweat breaking out anew as the power core fluctuated for a second. Leeki sat for several moments readjusting the power distribution fields.

Leeki hadn't gone far when he saw some sort of plasma building up on the hull. He slowed to a crawl. His instruments were near useless. He spun the ship around and opened the viewport. His eyes widened in horror as he came about.

A static storm sat in front of him. If he'd gone much further, the ship might have been hit. Leeki didn't know if Greadles ship was capable of fending off such a strike. With a grimace, Leeki edged the ship away and headed back toward Wolf Zero.
Fighting rising panic, Leeki swallowed hard and calmed himself. There was a way out. He just hadn't found it yet. He studied the scanning systems of Greadles ship.

Designed as a hunter, Leeki smiled as he viewed the options available. He began setting parameters to scan every last inch of this wherever he was and see what was out there. The power core flashed out of the corner of his eye.

Leeki watched the power core flash again with a sense of dread. After a minute, he switched them off. He sat there for several minutes. Highly sophisticated instruments meant oodles of Power. The crystal couldn't take much more and remain intact. If it blew out here, he would be stranded just like he'd been earlier. Only this time, he knew there would be no last-minute rescue. The ship would drift, with him inside this strange space for all eternity.

Rather than sit there doing nothing, Leeki did a slow turn around Wolf Zero. His eyes lit up suddenly. Dozens of craft of every sort and size were arrayed behind a small field of floating asteroids as well as 4 Snath. And there was something else; Leeki's eyes hardened and he leaned forward to see more clearly.

"So, Amok," Leeki's smile was terrible to behold. "This is how you got here. Packing light for this venture don't you think?" His fingers twitched over the weapons section and he frowned. The section remained dead. He stared at it for a minute and then hit it with his fist.              "Damn!" There had been two explosions. One had ruined the power crystal and the other had taken out the weapons systems. Leeki had been in such frantic haste that he'd forgotten all about everything except getting the ship moving and him out of there.
Leeki sat watching the Ziffer for several moments. He hadn't enough Power left to teleport. It was coming back, but it would be a while before he could make the attempt. He cursed silently.

There was movement on the Ziffer. Leeki saw that crazy human engineer stand up and start pacing worriedly. Leeki chewed at his lower lip. In his weakened condition, Leeki knew he was no match for the pair of Vilmirian Storm Hammers at the stocky Irishman's side. He'd watched Travia teaching him how to fully awaken them. They were sentient now, able to sense any danger to their master. They could sense Leeki's intent. Their Power had grown to rival that of even Amok's Shadow Weapons.

There was some kind of explosion. Debris flew outward, along with a man-like object surrounded by a blue shield aura. The force of the explosion had blown him outward. Leeki smiled thinly as the Overlord shook his fist at something.

Amok clambered up out of the hole the explosion had left. He was holding his Earthquake Staff. Leeki zoomed in and studied Amok carefully, frowning. He looked relatively unscathed, despite the horrific fight he'd just been through.

Amok stood for a moment looking at whoever it was shaking their fist at him. He smiled fondly and waved happily back, suddenly turning to peer inside the hole. He turned and started running at best speed towards the Ziffer where the engineer waited impatiently.

"Run, Amok run!" Leeki laughed as he watched several Overlords boil up out of the hole in the hull and take off after Amok in hot pursuit throwing Novas Balls at his desperately retreating form.

Leeki was holding his sides as Amok took the leap of faith through open space to land on the deck of Ziffer next to the astonished-looking human.

Leaning forward, Leeki's eyes gleamed as he watched the tableau unfold silently before him on the screen. The Ziffers' flimsy shields would never hold off the Nova Balls the Overlord would shoot before they could maneuver away from the dock. He saw Amok stand and shake his fist hatefully at the approaching Overlords. His Earthquake staff glowed, and he pointed. A huge section of the dock erupted under the feet of the Overlords., They scrambled hastily out of range, a few having taken the leap of faith themselves.

Eyes wide, Leeki eased the ship back and watched from the shadow of an asteroid as the Ziffer took off. He'd heard rumors of Amok's Earthquake staff. Seeing it in action was something else. Amok could put a hole in the ship Leeki flew if Amok spotted him. He sat nervously chewing on a nail watching the Ziffer swing around the station. Where was he going?

Swallowing a sudden hard lump in his throat, Leeki engaged the cloak. He watched the power core for several seconds. He was getting all he was going to get from that Power crystal. It was so close to overload, that Leeki saw spots before his eyes.

Amok and the human swung around the station and stopped. Amok pointed his Earthquake Staff and a big chunk of debris a few away. He pointed again, and suddenly, all the lights in the station went out.

Amok was capering madly about on the deck, raging with his Earthquake Staff held high.

A huge ship appeared from around the arc of Wolf Zero. Leeki's eyes opened in horror as the behemoth bore down on the tiny Ziffer.

Amok dropped his Earthquake Staff to the deck and raised his arms, his face twisted with fury. White light formed and a ray of white light leaped away and impacted the giant battleship. The white light vanished for a split second and then burst from the back and kept going. The beam hit Wolf Zero and another chunk of debris jumped off the surface.

The battleships running light went out and the ship drifted away, smoke pouring off it in huge grey and black clouds. Sparks flew everywhere and there were several smaller flashes of light as more explosions rocked the hull.

Leeki watched with pure astonishment as Amok fell back and crashed to the deck. The Ziffer shot away from Wolf Zero at max speed. Leeki followed at a safe distance. He risked a quick study of the Ziffers NG drive emissions and matched it to his instruments, applying the results of what he knew of where he was. There! The trail ended abruptly on the other side of the system. He made his way towards it as quickly as he dared. If he was right, there was a chance the Aperture Amok and his friend used to enter was closing.

Leeki approached the Aperture cautiously. The static storm or whatever it was was slowly healing the opening Amok had created; how? Leeki sat thinking furiously, his mouth turned all the way down.

To heck with it, he thought. He eased the spymasters' ship out of the Aperture and watched worriedly as the Tapestry righted itself. He wasn't far from the edge of Amok's Area. He put on the best speed he could and headed that way.

While he waited, he put in a call to his own Area. He needed to know what was happening. He waited impatiently for an answer. After only a couple of moments, however, the front Ob screen shimmered to life. A tall thin man with short black hair and large liquid-looking blue eyes blinked sleepily back at Leeki.

"Ross," Leeki's voice cut like a knife through the silence.

"Boss," Ross had a low muffled voice. "What's happening? We haven't heard from you for days."

"Did you finish the armored shell for the Everdrive?" Leeki was pensive and chewed a nail absently.

"Yeah," Ross nodded sagely. We got it ready. We don't know where to take it though. No one is answering at the place where you were supposed to be. We haven't heard anything. Is everything alright?"

"No, everything is not alright," Leeki said angrily between suddenly clenched teeth. "The High Ones are a bunch of idiots and so is everyone else! Amok and the Sisters are completely out of control. Here's what I want you to do."

Ross studied Leeki's face carefully as he spoke. He'd never seen his boss in such an agitated state. His eyes widened as what Leeki planned to do unfolded.

"Are you sure about this?" Ross looked skeptical. "I know Amok and Enderheim are a couple of idiots, but I've heard rumors..."

"You let me worry about them" Leeki's eyes were slits of fire. "You do what I tell you and nothing else. Is that clear?"

"Okay," Ross shrugged dramatically with his shoulders. "I hope you know what you're doing."
