By talking with the village’s elder and asking all the questions I could I found out the following:

We are on the territory of a kingdom of Beyern, ruled by a king and noble houses. While I was surprised to hear this in the end I had to accept that after the elder showed us the village armory, where are stored actual swords and spears, not some replicas. There were no fridges, no electronics, no cars in this village. It is looking like an old village which is still stuck in 19^th century.

While I was still doubtful that we were sent back in time, I decided to accept this as our current situation.

The villagers are worried because they are near the country’s border and now that their nation is in a war with one of its neighbors they have to be even more cautious. They were presented an ultimatum to surrender when an enemy army walked into the region. To show how serious the army was, they fired flaming ammo at the village and burned one of the houses. And soon the army will come again to occupy the village.

As for why the elder decided to let us in, he thinks that if we are a group of soldiers we can either help them defend their village, or convince the attackers to go away.

Because there is a great shortage of information in such a distant village, they couldn’t say many things we would require. To process the information we decided to do a small meeting.

“What are we going to do, captain?” Old man decided not to wait long time and went straight to the point.

“I have a better proposal. Captain, why don’t you just decide that yourself?” Jester agreed with him.

“I hope you will do what you are ordered.” I still have many doubts and the fact that they decided to make me their final instance can be interpreted also as their try to make me the scapegoat if something goes wrong.

After some time we decided to tell the elder that we might assist but we won’t be promising anything.

“Have you made your decision?” The elder was eager to hear our decision.

“Yes, we might help you when something goes wrong. I hope you understand that we can’t make any promises.”

“We are thankful for the chances you give us.” He bowed his head.

The villagers were giving us food and let us sleep in one of the houses. We were not exactly assisting them in their field work. We were mostly training and maintaining the tank.

It all ended two days after our arrival. We were just sleeping when a woman rushed into the house and loudly said: “Wake up, please! We are under attack!”

Even though we were almost naked and sleepy, we put on everything within a minute and rushed out of the building with rifles at ready.

“To the tank! Jester, load weapons! Old man, be ready to move out. I am going to try talking with them.”

When I arrived to the gate I met a group of people, wearing a weird clothing, some of which I could’ve seen in the history books.

“What is going on, can somebody tell me.” I was holding the rifle in my hands and was ready to take the firing stance.

“What it has to do with you?” One of the soldiers pointed at me.

“I am captain of the Russian army. I doubt that you are someone who can point at an officer like that.”

“Ha-ha-ha! YOU?! AN OFFFICER?!” He was laughing just by looking at me.

“I ask you again, what is going on?” Instead of being discouraged by his behavior I raised my voice and was ready to use my commander’s voice.

“Go away, brat. We have no use of such children!”

“I SAY AGAIN. WHAT. IS. GOING. ON?” Now I barked at them. Even if I became a damned squeak, I still have my voice trained. And now they were much more attentive to my words.

“This has nothing to do with you.” One of them, with more decorations on his armor, tried to keep me away from their talk.

“This village is hosting my men, if you don’t tell me what YOU have to do with this village I will have to use the armed force.” I started threatening them.

“This is rightful part of our king’s realm! Go away while you still can, you mongrel.” They also became aggressive.

I called Jester.

“Drive the tank here.” The people’s talking time becomes the tank’s talking time.

“You will regret that!” They decided not to wait for what will happen and ran away.

“They will come back and they will kill us…” The elder was pale when he said that.

While I was thinking what to answer I heard a weird sound coming from the radio.

I responded and heard the following:

“Captain, mortar battery Phoenix-1 and supply transport Ox-1 are ready for action. You can request the assistance any time.” A mechanical male voice responded from the radio.

“Understood… Requesting supplies, Ox-1.” I decided to try what will happen.

A few minutes after my request, An-12 transport flew above us and dropped a pallet with several crates.

Inside the crates were 125mm shells and machine gun round for both PKM and Kord.
