Third POV

As Qrow passed over the disheveled cabin, he couldn’t help but remember the work of wood. It was only recently that he recalled the existence of the cabin, though he felt as if it existed for a decade or so. However, there were no signs anyone ever entered or exited.

Continuing on his path back to Taiyang’s offshore cabin on the outskirts of Vale’s territory, he shook off the memories until he faintly heard the vestiges of a young girl.

‘The hell’s that noise? Don’t tell me the cabin holds a Geist. Wouldn’t want Ruby getting hurt.’

As per his responsibility as a certified huntsman, he decided to take a detour and investigate the suspicious cabin.

Turning into a human, Qrow landed on the creaky porch and barged into the main room, breaking the door into shards.

There in the corner of the cabin, wrapped in some blanket contraption, was a small fox faunus. With jet black and unruly, yet silky hair, the pale girl was adorable.

Looking at her balled up, tense fists around the large fan and her entrancingly focused, crimson patterned eyes, Qrow could tell the young girl was no stranger to combat. She held a wary and scared look, yet at the same time, her heartbeat was pacing rapidly with excitement.

Not that Qrow could tell how excited she was to explore and fight, all he knew was that a battle experienced, yet seemingly elementary aged, fox faunus was left in a disheveled cabin with little preparation in a human kingdom. It only made him feel worse when he noticed the resemblance to Raven.

‘Did Raven leave her here to get away from the racist bastards back at the clan? No, she isn’t that kind.’

Although Vale was kinder to the races than some others like Atlas, it still held many racists. The Branwen clan held even more.

Instantly, Qrow felt remorse and tried to rectify the situation, ”Oh shit, sorry kiddo. You okay? Where are your parents?” Continuing on, he buried his flask further into his jacket, though Madara’s sharp sense of smell could detect the alcohol. “Sorry dumb question, here I’ll get you somewhere safe.”

Slowly approaching the fox faunus with his arms upright and scythe put away, he reached out.

Hearing sniffles, he felt even worse, assuming her guardians threw her away only recently. Regardless, Madara got over her predicament. Looking at the old Qrow’s eyes, she could tell he meant well. Even more so, she knew that emotion above all, remorse.

Her memories of her former family were faint and many names of locations and people were seemingly wiped away, but the lazy gods left her a new body and surely wouldn’t migrate her into a danger infested zone at first hand.

So for the first time in a long while, she decided to trust someone first, and grabbed the kind man’s hand.

With a high pitched voice, she asked, ”Will you ever betray me? Swear on the lazy gods!” Though the hope in her eyes was an undeniable light in the dark cabin. She wished for him to say no, to reject the possibility, and trusted he would tell the truth, as a new beginning to her life.

And just then, Qrow decided that, despite his bad luck, he’d do his best to raise the fox faunus from whatever past she had with betrayal.

“I swear I’ll never betray you.” Picking the girl up along with the gunbai and scythe, they left the cabin and started off towards the middle of the island.

In the comfortable silence, the girl stated, ”My name is Madara. Madara Uchiha.”

“The name’s Qrow. Qrow Branwen.”

“You didn’t swear on the gods.” Madara pouted as viciously as a puppy.

“Why are elementary kids so nitpicky?”

“I’M 13!” *Bonk*

Bickering with Qrow, Madara entered Taiyang’s cabin, walking with Qrow, who had a suspiciously large bump on his head.

“Hey Taiyang, you have an empty bedroom, right?”

Yelling back from whatever corner of the cabin he was stuck in, Taiyang replied, ”Yeah, what for?” While Madara’s heaven sent, fluffy ears picked up on two light sets of footsteps running down a hallway.

““UNCLE QROW!!””

A golden haired girl known as Yang entered the living room with a red flash of petals smacking into the faunus.

Materializing into a reddish haired being known as Ruby, the petals cluttered to the floor while Madara was hugged and petted into oblivion.

With watery eyes, Madara rushed back to Qrow and arrogantly yelled at the cookie monster, ”Don’t touch me unless you wanna fight, kid!”

Of course this was partially a bluff, as her current main weakness was her weakened body, and she doubted she could even punch through trees with what little strength she had.

Qrow smirked and retorted, ”Isn’t she only two years younger than you?”

And with that, contrary to her beliefs, the two girls, in fact, did not back off and cooed to the tiny yet fierce girl, ignoring the fact that Yang was also 13 years old.

Madara’s face turned ‘ruby red’ and the tears she had been holding back began to fall again, only further intensifying the cooing.

[A/N: Yes, I know, bad pun. I’ll stop someday.]

“I hate this place.” Madara-chan pouted once again. I guess you could say she wanted ‘pout’ of this place, haha~.

[A/N: But not now.]

Though really, she did enjoy the pets. It’s just that her past life’s mindset wouldn’t let her admit to liking the humiliation.

Soon, however, she and the rest of her new family would find that she also has some in common with cats, like purring.

Finally Taiyang walked in, immediately noticing the fox faunus and the unique combination of traits, similar to one of his former lovers.

Mumbling, Taiyang finally snapped to attention and asked Qrow, “...related to Raven?”

“I don’t think so, Sis wouldn’t leave someone abandoned without taking these weapons. Though, she seems pretty battle experienced for someone of her age. Hey, kid, do you belong to some lineage of hunters or whatever?”

Putting her index finger on her mouth, Madara looked up to the two men. “Mmmm, I think I belonged to the Uchiha clan, though I ended up getting kicked out after I got in a fight.”

Perking up, Taiyang continued the questioning, “Uchiha? Doesn’t sound familiar. What was their philosophy and principles?”

“...Love.”

Both Qrow and Taiyang were surprised that the faunus was kicked out of a clan supposedly known for love, but what Madara said next explained it all.

With a new tear running down her cheek, she elaborated, “The Uchiha gain power from the loss of their loved ones. Many killed their family in pursuit of power. I gained my power from using the eyes of my killed brother. In reality, I figured out too late that our clan was mistaken, cursed with hatred when one of our Village leader’s stated that ‘No other clan treasures love more than the Uchiha’. I betrayed the clan and also suffered from the curse of hatred.”

With one story of her history revealed, even Taiyang couldn’t help but care deeply for the tiny fox girl despite the resemblance to Raven.

From next to her, a saddened, yet determined voice rang out, ”We’re taking care of her, right?”

And a hyper voice continued, “Ooooh, am I getting a little sister? Cool scythe! Can we swap tips? What’s the fan for?”

Taiyang nodded and Qrow revealed the new family member, “Meet Madara, your new little niece.”

“Hey! I’m 13 and my mind is older than you! I’m not a kid!” Although Madara acted angry, anyone could tell she truly was happy. A trembling grin was trying to make its way onto her face and she looked away from the group.

Qrow was already beginning to figure out Madara’s simple mindset. “Yeah, but you’re smaller than Ruby, so they’re your big siblings, alright brat?”

““YEEEAAHHH!!!””

“NOOOOOOO!!!”

Third POV With Hashirama

“STATE YOUR BUSINESS WITH MENAGERIE.”

Hashirama was currently held at clawpoint at an odd station by a black haired, furry looking man named Ghira Belladonna and was panicking, wondering what the hell he did wrong. ‘Who are all these furry men? Are those ears real? I want to pet one. I guess I should answer’

“Um, I landed here from being teleported into the sky by a strange ball man with some weird eyes and funky clothing. Made the crater about a mile away. Along with the tree.”

“…”

“…”

“So you’ve been exiled from the human kingdoms for being delusional, huh?” Ghira Belladonna sighed and patted the young man on the back, wondering what the world has come to.

...

...

...

Mmm, that was nice. Wonder why that weird guy gave me this narrator job, but he looked like what I thought Oum would look like. At least I got to make a few puns. Now I gotta find out what new book Blake’s been reading.
