After the team recomposed themselves, we went back to walking towards the city. As the coin Amity gave me was ridiculously expensive, we agreed that they would exchange it for the smaller coins that we would need and buy a dimensional bag for me to hold that many coins without having a literal pile of coins that I could build a king sized bed out of coins and sleep in it. I'm not going to lie, the idea of dimensional bags sounds a lot like the bag of holding from D&D.

The walk took about two hours, and a good portion of it consisted of me tripping and falling because the clothes I was wearing were just too big to really fit me. Even if Joh'ner was the same height as me, he was at least twice my size in weight, and the only reason I don't call him a dwarf is that I don't know if dwarfs are really a thing.

We left the forest we were in and entered a dirt road that would take us directly to one of the gates in the city. The road itself wasn't too busy, but it wasn't empty as well, there was a good number of wagons being pulled by horse-like creatures and giant lizard-like creatures coming and going, as well as some people from different species with a lot of varied armor and weapons, going from leather and swords to robes, plate armor, bows, staffs and others.

"Are those adventurers?" Jana asked.

"No, those are hunters and gatherers. What is an adventurer?" Eugeo asked.

"Oh, they are these people who fight monsters, hunt animals, explore the unknown to bring back things from their travels" Jana explained.

They all shook their heads before Eugeo suddenly said.

"Wait, guys, do you remember our history lesson?" He asked, but they all just looked at him before shaking their heads at him as well. "Really? Was I the only one who studied for that exam last month?" They all nodded. "... ok, anyway, I just remembered that long ago there was an organization called Adventurers Guild or something that was later broken to the Hunters and Gatherers guild under the Guild Society. Why it broke apart I have no idea"

"Ah, I see…" Jana said. "Another lie…" She said the last part whispering, but I managed to hear it as well as caught a glimpse of anger and pain in her eyes. I decided not to ask.

We went to a line of people that were entering the city, it wasn't that big but it also wasn't small. As we approached the gate, Celeber approached Jana and I and whispered in our ears.

“The officials responsible for doing the temporary documentation have a truth seeing skill, so unless you want to start something with the city guards, I recommend you answer honestly all his questions” She said.

We both nodded as we went to a city guard, a man who was using a metal chestplate with leather sleeves and leggings. We approached him and Celeber and her team presented an identification card each.

“Documentation, please” He said as Jana and I got in front of him.

“We don’t have any” I answered.

“Very well, you can make a temporary documentation in that booth over there” The guard answered. “The fee for the documentation is one silver coin for each person. It is only valid for five days, so you’ll need to make another temporary documentation or pay a gold to create a permanent one in the city hall”

“Thanks” I said as we moved to another line that moved to the booth the guard pointed us at.

It didn’t take long for us to get right in front of a glass window with a small hole to pass items through, Celeber was already on our side by that time. An elf woman with formal clothes was looking at us three before saying in a cold and monotonous voice.

“One per turn” she said.

“Oh, I’m going to pay the fee for these two” Celeber said.

“Very well, then. You, furboy, I’m going to start with your documentation. Name?” She asked

“Denaru Theris” I answered.

“Place of origin?”
“A forest” I said, but as the elf eyed me with a dead face, I elaborated further. “Dharnas Forest, I don’t know where it is”

She rolled her eyes before continuing. “Year of birth?”
“I don’t know”
“Don’t know? What about your age? I can just calculate your birth year calculating your age”
“A week” I answered dead serious.

She looked at me like I was kidding her, but a second after I said, her face showed surprise, clearly her truth skill caught on that I was telling the truth.

“...Ok, that’s new” She said, before putting a small device that looked like a crystal button with a wire on it. “The last thing I need is your magic signature. Just put a small quantity of magicules in the device, if you don’t know how to manipulate your magicules, we have another device that will draw it by force”

I nodded and put my index finger on the device and pushed a small quantity of magicules into the device, it glowed brightly as my magicules were put into it.

“Hey, I said a small quantity! Do you want to break it?” The elf woman shouted and I quickly took my finger off the device before I could break it by mistake. “Kids these days, you won’t impress me by putting all your magicules in the device or anything. All you’re doing is making my job more difficult by having to clean it of all residual magic”

She retrieved her device before mentioning for me to move for Jana’s turn, in which she asked the same questions and Jana answered them honestly. I discovered that Jana was 19 years old and that it was the year 12.021, meaning that they started this calendar at least ten thousand years before Earth… Thinking about it, they started to count the years around the time humans on Earth were just a bunch of tribes fighting mammoths and saber tooth tigers, probably, I don’t really know when saber tooth tigers were around.

After Celeber paid two silver coins to the elf woman, she gave us a card each that looked a lot like an ID card from Earth and that had our information we gave her together with a weird wave-like circle in the place of a picture.

Celeber showed us the way to the city gate and as we entered we showed the guard on site our cards and he let us in. The city was like the first one I entered with Amity, of course it had a less strict security to enter, but in the overall, this one was a lot “richer” than the other one. Looking around I could see proper buildings that would match a low income area of an Earth’s city. They weren't made of cement or concrete, but the texture they had almost fooled me.

“Hey, even though the Guild Society building won’t close, the place we need to go will close soon. It’s almost sunset, so we better hurry and let the sightseeing for another time” Celeber said, causing me to notice that it wasn’t just me who was staring all around us, Jana was also starring things like a kid being shown new stuff.

“Oh, right, yes” I said, before taking Jana’s hand and pulling her with me as we moved through the flow of pedestrian traffic following Celeber and her team to a giant stone building that looked like more of a giant box house people create in Minecraft than a proper building… Or I guess it looks like some supermarkets too, as I just remembered they are too just giant box-like buildings of pre-made stuff.

“Welcome to the Guild Society building. We know it doesn’t look great and everything, but just you wait until you step inside” Celeber said before sending her team first then following them.

I gave Jana a last look before nodding and opening the wooden doors that the other guys used before just stepping in. I felt something passing through me as I entered… No, it’s better described as I passed through something when I went in, but it didn’t seem to do anything, so I just ignored it. The moment my eyes scanned the interior of the place, I froze and my eyes went completely wide from the sheer size and magnitude of the place. I didn't have enough time to properly observe all of it before the door opened again, hitting me from behind and making me fall head first to the ground.
