A few hours later, Jana was back with three soldiers and two people that looked like they came directly from some really old story about wizards and witches, pointy hats and all. They all had the same symbols in their clothes and armor, meaning they were all part of the policing force of this city. I was able to a small degree of movement after [Automata, God of Axioms] took control of my [Regeneration] and [Automatic HP Recovery] skills, but I was still bedridden as I didn't have the necessary strength to stand up yet.

"Good afternoon, sir, I hope you don't mind but we need to ask you some questions, for security reasons" one of the mages said to me.

"Miss Jana here told us some things already, but we need to hear your point of view as well, as you were the one who entered the dungeon during the events" he said.

Of course it would happen, something like what happened outside and inside the dungeon would cause detectives to come like flies, I guess I am their only source of information, then, if you ignore the dungeon itself.

I nodded to him.

"Great, if you excuse us" he said to me before turning his face to the other mage in the room, she nodded and began chanting a spell.

"May all the lies be chained by the chains of truth, may all the truths be blessed by the power of justice. [Field of Truth]" She chanted and a bubble appeared in front of her before growing and enveloping everything inside the room.

[Warning, a psionic magical field is currently in effect. Magic resistance skill [Dragon Scales] is currently at 20% of its maximum capacity and is being suppressed by the field. Analyzing effects… Effects of the psionic field are limited to forcing those under its influence to speak what they consider true about anything that is being discussed while inside the field]

Meaning that this spell is perfect for interrogation as one cannot lie while inside it. Well, it's not like I had anything to hide anyway, all I did was invade a dungeon (that someone had already invaded) and stop whoever was that guy with the futuristic tech. Tho, that being said, it was not like I wanted to discuss some stuff that happened there as even I wasn’t too certain and some memories were hard, although I couldn’t exactly remember why.

[Suggestion. Would you like for [Automata, God of Axioms] to divert available computing and magical power to counteract the effects of [Field of Truth]?]

Yes, I thought.

[67% of current available power diverted to counteract [Field of Truth]

"As you are aware" the first mage said, it looked like all the conversation I just had with my skill was sped up and happened in one second of real time. "This spell prohibits one from lying about anything said inside the spell”

I nodded, if I had to guess, his little explanation was the same thing cops need to do when apprehending someone, that is, telling them their rights.

“Good, now, let me begin” He said as he pulled a notebook and what looked like a crystal pen from a pocket on his robes. “I’ll ask you some questions about the incident a few weeks ago, please do respond them”

[Warning, scanning skill [Appraisal] has been detected. Trying to determine source of skill…]

“First question. Are you a shapeshifter?” The mage asked.

As I was about to answer, I could feel the effects of the spell [Field of Truth] trying to mess inside my head before being blocked by my own skill. Still, for this to be the first question and now “why did you invade the dungeon” means being a shapeshifter has some special meaning that I didn’t know yet.

[Incapable of accessing System’s database due to low processing power available]

And that means I couldn’t just google what it means… Then I would have to guess the true meaning behind the mages question before actually answering it, and if I choose wrong I would probably be in trouble as my body wasn’t fully healed.

“No, I am not” I chose that being a shapeshifter was not viewed as being a positive thing and so I lied, but just as the words came out of my mouth I realized how stupid I was to just lie when I literally shapeshifter into my real self before entering the dungeon.

“Aham…” The mage said and looked at the other mage, who nodded her head, then looked at his notebook and began to write something on it.

[Source of scanning skill [Appraisal] located. Highlighting source on your vision]

Suddenly the woman mage had a blue highlight as if I was inside a video game, and that meant she was appraising me. It felt like I was being stripped naked with her scanning me, but I simply couldn’t do anything about it, or could I?

[Negative, available processing power does not meet the requirements to invalidate her skill. [Dragon Scales] has made the results from the scanning partially corrupted, but analysis suggest that she can see approximately 70% of your status screen]

Doesn’t that mean she can see I have [True Mimic] and know I am a shapeshifter? Doesn’t that mean she knows I lied even though I’m inside [Field of Truth]? I mentally asked, though, I thought of myself as a shapeshifter because I could literally change my shape and that was because I was not from this world, but from Earth, where shapeshifters are from comic books and novels about people, human in most, with the power to change appearances.

[Negative, [Dragon Scales]’s interference on magic has blocked every skill above [Normal] to be corrupted on her [Appraisal]’s result]

After a mental sigh of relief, the mage asked about some personal information, things like my name, place of origin and age. Though I only answered about my name, which caused the mage to sigh.

“So, last question. Although it’s not really a question. Please describe the events leading to and during the incident, and please do not let anything out as any bit of information can be a clue” He said.

I took a deep breath and began telling them about what happened, though I left some bits behind like how I actually heard about the planned invasion of the dungeon by that guy and the part where I broke space and shot an almost infinite amount of energy to some kind of void.

He thanked me and got up together with the other mage, who dispersed the [Field of Truth] spell, but before they left Jana spoke to them.

“So, are we good now? Like, can we walk without someone accompanying us everywhere we go?” She asked.

“First we are going to be reviewing everything, and then we’ll have you informed. For now, don’t leave the city or do anything suspicious or else any guard will have the authority to apprehend you” He said and then left with all of the other soldiers and the other mage.

Jana looked at me and after a really long moment of silence, she spoke.

“Soo, sorry I didn’t talk to you properly earlier. Those guys told me to call them the moment you were awake and to not “try anything funny”” She said. “Anyway, let me give you a rundown of what happened these last three weeks you were out”

She explained that some time after I went inside the dungeon, the area outside it went on lockdown, no one could enter and leave except the soldiers and mages. She was temporarily detained to be questioned on what had happened, as well as Celeber and the others. Nothing really came out of it, and after a good eight hours later the lockdown was about to be lifted and a specialized team was about to enter the dungeon when a goblin came out, that caused a somewhat panic in the people, but that soon calmed down as the goblin didn’t really try to attack anyone. After seeing no one was going to attack him, the goblin turned back to the stairs leading to the dungeon and waved for others to come out, and that’s when a group of kobolds and goblins came out of the dungeon carrying an unconscious and bloodied me, then all hell broke loose. Jana came running as the kobolds and goblins put me down and went back to the dungeon on their own, leaving a few soldiers confused for a moment before noting Jana running towards me and stopping her.

After some lengthy interrogation, she was let out with a medical bill for the medical work that was done on me to not let me die that would make an American gasp. Luckily Celeber didn’t vanish and, with my temporary documentation, made a merchant guild card for me, though that took some time as well as the merchant guild had to make sure the orichalcum coin Amity had gave me was actually an orichalcum coin and not counterfeit. Now I had the magical version of a debit card and a merchant guild account, that sounded oddly like a bank account. Anyway, Celeber gave Jana the card to give me after I woke up and she used the card to pay for the medical bill which didn’t make a dent on the amount of money I now had, which felt a little like a cheat, really, but who am I to complain about free money?

After that, I spent the rest of the time on the bed I was currently on while Jana went sightseeing a little.

“Did you know they have plumbing? Like, actual plumbing like the ones I used to work on? When I discovered that I want nuts! I tried to ask some people about it, but no one really answered me and even the guards told me to stop asking strange questions” She said.

While she did overreact a little, I could understand her enthusiasm as I almost did the same thing.

“So as no one could see me, I took apart the bathroom to examine the plumbing” She continued.

“Wait, what?” I blurted out.

“Yeah, I examined the plumbing and discovered some new runes I didn’t know, so I made this to test them out” She said as she went on a wooden chest and took what looked like a piece of metal in the shape of a gun with a large sphere of metal on the bottom of the handle.

“I call it, dramatic pause, The Water Ejector!” She said as she pointed to a wall and pressed a small trigger, almost like an actual gun. Water came out of the tip of the metal thing and went straight to the wall, though as it didn’t have much force behind it, it just looked like someone was spilling water to the wall with a hose.

“... I have no words” I said to her as I looked her dead in the eye.

“I know, amazing isn’t it?” She said with a smile
