I’ve being walking for a while now, and I still haven’t reached the walls, that’s weird, I better just open my eyes to see where I’m going… eh?

I opened my eyes and what I see is not the church, but rather the village entrance. I immediately stopped and turned around in confusion.

“Don’t just ignore me! I’m saying you stealing the belongings of the dead is unethical, do I need to remember you that this is one of the reasons you’re a criminal in twelve kingdoms? Do I really need to remind you that time you almost, almost, got yourself troubled with the dragons because you disrespected their dead? You almost caused a continental incident”

 “Aaaand? That dragon was dead by centuries, and they didn’t bother to recover his remains, I had all the right to use his bones as I saw fit”

They’re still fighting? It seems Amity is trying to put something in some kind of bag, wait, that bag is huge, and she just keep on putting random items, not only food and stuff, but personal belongings of the people… I won’t comment on that, I’m just out of my place here.

Amity saw me close to the entrance and walked to here, then she looked at me… oh boy I’m getting a bad feeling, I better walk away, too late, she grabbed me and put me on her shoulder. At least I think I can get their attention now.

I touch Amity’s cheek and she look at me, great, it worked, now, I point to the church, Amity look at the direction where I’m pointing and smile.

“Oh, Zeny, looks like our little gecko friend found something interesting, the church will be packed with people, I can’t let all that free stuff around, you see”

“. . . . . You know what? Go right ahead, but don’t come begging me to help you when a vengeful spirit lock its wrath on you, ok?”

“Oki doki, oh, but I better let you here”

Amity said while putting me on the ground. I wonder why I can’t go to the church.

“I’ve calmed you down earlier, but it’s not like my skill is omnipotent, right now you’re ignoring almost everything around you, but inside the church is probably filled with bodies, and you wouldn’t be able to ignore it and my skill would wear off the moment you noticed them, the church has also an anti-monster field, it’s weak now because the magicule reserves are about to run out, but it is still protecting the inside of the church. Amity carried you until you were inside the village for that exact reason, if the anti-monster field was at full strength you wouldn’t be able to come near the village without us dragging you here. So, in conclusion, it’s for the best that you stay here, waiting for us, if you’re hungry, you can eat the food Amity stole from the houses, it’s right beside the well”

Zenshin looked at a well that was to my left. I looked at it and right next to it is a little pile of food, bags, clothes and kitchen utensils.

“Zeny, if you don’t come I’ll steal even the clothes they’re using!”

“I’m coming, just wait a second! Ok, so, last thing, don’t go too far, you can explore the village if you want, if something happen you can just scream and we’ll be able to hear and come right away, ok?”

I nod, Zenshin smiles and then goes to Amity, who’s walking to the church, I simply observe then until I am forcibly made to look to another direction, I guess that’s the anti-monster field doing its thing.

I look at the items randomly put besides the well and walk to there, my stomach growls, it’s been a while since I last eat, I only remember eating those red berries a few minutes after I was reincarnated, I wonder how I’m only feeling hungry now.

“So, what do you think?”

“I think stealing the stuff of the dead is not right and that you should stop”

Zenshin spoke to Amity, who was busy emptying the pockets of a men whose neck was cut by a sword.

“Not that, silly, I’m talking about him”

Amity gives a glance at the door of the church.

“Oh, you mean him, hmm, yes, he definitely is strange, he managed to keep his memories after his death and acquired a lot of skills even though he’s basically a newborn, sincerely I don’t know how he acquired [Instincts Overdrive] as that skill is only obtainable by non-intelligent creatures such as wyverns and some monsters”

Amity begin to think, while going to the next corpse, a woman that had her chest pierced by a sword, and begin to search for anything that she finds useful.

“When a dragon is born, it started with zero intelligence, right?”

“Yes, that is correct”

“But he reincarnated while keeping his old memories”

“That is also correct, but I don’t see where you are going at”

“Keeping your memories is already an error by itself from the System, unless given Maut’s blessing you’ll start having a blank soul, so, what if the System thought he was born without intelligence?”

“Hmm, in that case, he wouldn’t be able to pass the intelligence bloom, because he’s already sentient, and if a dragon doesn’t pass through the intelligence bloom, he’s dammed to become a wyve…oh, oh!”

“Exactly, I think the System didn’t recognize his intelligence because he was already born with it, and he was able to unlock the [Instincts Overdrive] skill the same way a wyvern would, that being the case, we can’t leave him by himself, he would probably lose his mind, literally”

“So, what do you want to do with him?”

“I have some ideas…”

Looking through the items Amity stole I found some “food”, well, it IS food, but they don’t look appetizing at all, I found some bread, but it’s hard as a rock, some vegetables and fruits that looks like they came directly from the earth of how dirty they were, and some dried meat, the only thing that looks like eatable, it smells nice too, so I guess I’ll eat this dried meat here, there’s about fifty pieces here, and if my sense of scale is not messed up, they are about two centimeters large and ten centimeters long.

Well, I’m hungry, so I’ll eat these dried meat pieces.

I put one in my mouth and start chewing on it, the smell and taste are quite strong, the taste itself besides being strong is actually really good, I never actually eat dried meat before so I don’t have any way to compare the taste from these right here to the ones you could buy on the supermarket back on Earth.

I ate dried meat pieces until I was full, in total I think I ate around fifteen pieces. I thought I could eat more, but I guess having a small body means having a small hunger, well it’s good because any food supply we have can last longer that way, if I ate the same way I ate when I was human, those fifty pieces of dried meat would be like snacks.

Alex would love to eat these, she’s passionate about meat after all…. I wonder how everyone is doing, maybe they are looking for me on the streets while my mom is calling the police to search for me.
