The moment the ball touched the ground, a loud buzz echoed throughout the field and Celeber immediately teleported to the ball and kicked it.

Instead of immediately flying, the ball glowed as it charged on Celeber's magic and as soon as it finished it shot towards our goal. Staash was already on the move as she kicked the ball and intercepted it with his tail, but the ball simply vanished into thin air like mist as it hit his tail, appearing a meter on the side.

The ball exploded into rainbow fireworks as it touched our goal and Celeber team's score went from 0 to 1. Both teams, except me, began to look around looking for the ball and as I was about to ask what was happening, the ball manifested right in front of me with rainbow mist.

I looked at the ball and almost tripped on my own feet as I scrambled to punch it with my front leg. It was a weird position to do this as I couldn't exactly kick it as I could when I was human. The ball went straight towards the elf, who just put his hand in front of him as the ball came crashing into it and dropped to the ground as if it suddenly weighed a ton.

"Just an advice, you'll want to put some kind of magic in the ball if you want to do anything in the game" The elf said to me as the ball began to float towards his hands.

The ball began to turn rapidly as he prepared to shoot it aiming at our goal, but Kora didn't let him as she conjured ice chains from her hand that grabbed the ball and yanked it out of Innev's hand and control. She began spinning the ball in an arch before throwing it towards their goal.

The ball was coated with ice as it sailed through the air, leaving a trail that looked like a comet flying through the solar system while diving towards the sun. Joh'ner jumped and headbutted the ball, but was sent flying backwards as the ball kept its momentum forwards as it hit the goal and exploded in rainbow mist.

"Here's an expert's advice, if you see a way to use your opponent's spell for yourself, use it" Kora said as Innev's eyes went wide and ran to their friend who met the unstoppable force head first.

“Am fine, am fine. Dat ball just caught me by surprise there” He said as he stood up and almost fell, but held Innev’s arm to stay upright.

Everyone except Innev and Joh’ner were alert as to where the ball would materialize again. My [Magicule Detection] skill didn’t help at all as the entire field was lit up like a christmas tree with magic, which let me wondering what else this field was capable of as it was clear from the way I see the pillars in the four corners of the field glowing that everything that happened until now wasn’t everything possible, maybe it was the simple rules we were using that set the low magic usage, but I couldn’t be certain.

I saw a rainbow mist forming right on the roof, and when I looked up I saw the ball just standing there as if gravity had no say to whether it should fall or not. I wasn’t the only one to notice it up there as one of the humans began to run towards the wall while casting something on himself. A magic circle appeared on his chest as his speed increased by tenfold, letting rainbow lightning wherever he passed. The moment he reached the wall, he jumped on it and began to run upwards, defying gravity like it was a mere annoyance than anything, reaching the roof in under 20 seconds, and once there he jumped again and this time began to run on the actual roof.

Kora didn’t wait until the human reached the ball and jumped, her house sized body giving her enough reach to touch the ball just before the human arrived. The ball glowed with an whitish color as the air around it dropped several degrees, as the human approached the ball, he lost speed drastically and the closer he got to the ball slower he was getting, until he realized what was happening and tried to run away from it, but apparently the spell on the ball had done what it was set to do and both of them fell from the roof, the ball because of the spell and the human because he lost too much speed to keep himself on the ceiling.

While Staash grabbed the falling human and put him on the floor gently, the ball stopped right in front of Kora’s face. As she looked at it and at Celeber team’s goal, Eugeo's eyes went wide.

“She’s doing the conversion spell!” He shouted.

“Defensive formation Reflective Mirror!” Celeber shouted after Eugeo.

Their team barely had enough time to get together as the ball shot from Kora towards their goal, its speed increasing as it traveled the air and dropping the temperature a few degrees around it as it did so. As the ball approached their team, a prism with six sides appeared in front of Celeber and five mirrors appeared, each in front of one team member.

The ball hit the prism with enough force that a small shockwave emanated from it, but the prism held true while also shooting an energy beam towards the mirrors. The mirrors themselves absorbed the energy the prism released into themselves and the moment the prism finished sending the energy and the ball had started to fall to the ground, the mirrors shot the energy back towards the prism, who itself redirected the energy back into the ball. Joh’ner’s shield was the one of the outer ones and cracked, right before it exploded with the accumulated energy it had stored, fortunately it wasn’t much as a few moments after the mirrors stopped sending the energy back and the ball shot backwards, except, it didn’t go straight back. It turned in the middle of the air as the energy the mirrors redirected back into it wasn’t symmetrical and shot directly at me.

Panic took over my mind as the ball the size of my head was coming at me with an incredible speed, I barely had time to react as it came right in my face. I didn’t have the time to pull my paw in front of it, nor hit it with my tail, so I used the only thing I could… My snout. I had tried to go for a headbutt, but i miscalculated the size of my snout and it hit the ball first, I took the opportunity to push my own magicules and mana in it, and was shocked how easily the magicules in my body began to flow from it towards my snout and then the ball. The mana stored in the crystal I now knew I had at the base of my throat also flowed easily out of it, carried over by a stream of magicules. The moment my mana tried to enter the ball it was met with resistance, like the magic inside of it didn’t want to be replaced, but I pushed through and my mind filled the interior of the ball. The second that interaction between me and the ball was over, it and I went flying in separate directions as all the momentum the ball had carried over was transferred to my own body.

While the ball flew in a random direction after ricocheting from my body, I was caught by Staash and put in the ground gently. As I regained my senses I saw the ball caught fire as it flew through the air. Celeber was already in position to defend the ball and she hit it with her fists, but was surprised as the flames kept going, hitting her in the face, and the ball suddenly back to where it ricocheted from me, flying like it had just done.

Celeber had quickly put out the flames, and as though her face had a minor burn on her cheek, she was ready and prepared to take the ball again as she saw it flying back at it again. This time, though, the ball suddenly disappeared and appeared in another area of the field, caughting everyone by surprise. Innev was the closed to the ball and tried to kick it back at our goal, just to have the ball suddenly vanishing from his foot and appearing back where it just came from, just like the last time, it appeared as if it just ricocheted from my body and flew in the same random direction than before.

Celeber had anticipated it when the ball vanished from Innev’s kick and was already on the ball as he punched it towards the ground, but again, the ball disappeared and reappeared as if it had just ricocheted from my body.

What is happening? I thought as I saw the ball again and again teleport to somewhere random at random and when anybody of Celeber’s team tried to catch it, it just reappeared right where it and I exchanged hits. It didn’t take too long that her entire team just stopped trying to catch it or hit it, but the ball just kept going, teleporting at random again and again, until it teleported inside their goal and exploded in rainbow mist and our counter went one up.

Everyone looked glad it had finally over, but then the rainbow mist suddenly disappeared at once instead of gradually and the ball reappeared at the same spot it had appeared countless times already, and again began teleporting through the field, but it kept teleporting into their goal again and again. Every time the ball teleported to the goal, our counter went one up and the ball just restarted the cycle, each time was shorter and shorter to teleport into their goal, until it just kept reappearing and teleporting right inside the goal so quickly that our counter went from 15 to 100 in a total of thirty seconds. Everyone just stood there, completely aghast as the behavior of the ball as another buzz signaled the end of the match.

“What?” All of us said at the same time.
