One of the possible ending I am toying with for this arc is Alice needing a helping hand. If I go with it, who should it be
I voted but I feel like whoever does it will have potentially massive affects in the relationship dynamic between all parties that will also affect how the story progresses. This should not be left to a vote imo.
I agree, it seems too important to leave to a vote!
Amy would be a nice choice but it depends on the type of "help" Alice needs. Mort might be the most powerful and most useful but he's already helped recently. Logically it would seem to fall to Victoria because she's nearby and because it doesn't feel like Amy could do much unless it's to protect Alice from going berserk. The romantic in me is pulling for Amy. If she helps Alice it could further their um...relationship.
@PiRho i believe i can use any you choose. I have a few variations that will be decided by your votes. In reality if i go the whole rescue route how they rescue her will carry as well the results. Yes Mort is by far the most powerful helper
@PiRho although to be honest my top choices were Victoria or Ralph. I just like how i picture their 'save the day' moments. Even if Ralph's isn't really a save per say Using Mort would revel who he really is for those that haven't guessed it. While the end result would flush out Amy a little it probably would be the least cool save the day moment
@Deathangel Amy's help may not be as cool, but your readers seem to have a soft spot for her.
@PiRho I'm actually going to rephrase my comment a bit....
Yes, people want "yet another girls love story", but it's also a little more than that. Of the "main cast", Amy is the character with the least amount of depth to her. On top of not having her background flushed out yet, the way the story portrays her is as if she is a blank slate, and the readers are able to insert their preferred arch type onto her. Or from what I've read in the comments thus far, their preferred "romantic interest"...
And for an added cherry on top, she fulfills the very basic requirements to be listed as a "Tsundere" ..... which people seem to like ... and I don't understand, but that's for them to worry about. Just saying it's just another reason why people seem to like her
@Sath yeah I'm slightly guilty of that. Honestly I just want some happiness in her life. She's going to need someone to pick her up off the floor if she ever finds out the truth about her new parents. As long as GL is not the focus of the story it should be good.
BTW, even though I'm pro Amy I was the first to vote for Mort! Chaos FTW!
@PiRho SHAME! HEATHEN! BLASPHEMER! .... uh ... OTHER 1 WORD INSULTS!
Jokes aside, while I am personally not a fan of GL/BL, I do understand that this is not the case for many others and am not saying it shouldn't be written. My particular gripe is that 4 out of 5 stories on ScribbleHub are now GL ... I just want some variety -_-;
As for Amy, I'm honestly surprised her character has stuck around as long as she has. When she 1st entered the story she was very much a 1 dimensional small time villain... and maybe that's the point? Enemies of yesterday can become stalwart allies of tomorrow... That said, I don't think her strength lies in combat ..... and so if it's a combat scenario she's saving Alice from, it doesn't make much sense unless she's sacrificing herself .... which, ironically, DOES fit her character. A "use my life which you saved to save yours" sort of thing.
It would make much more sense for someone like Victoria (I believe she was taking combat classes? Or am I imagining that?) or Ralph to swoop in and save the day.... Ralph is another odd character .... I'm kinda looking forward to seeing what the author does with this "not so bad guy" in all the wrong places
@Deathangel Death is a Friend of Mine
@Sath I agree that Victoria need some spot light, she a downtrodden person really, but what I like about this whole possible GL scenario is that unlike most love stories that are hard to even glance at, mostly because of the whole "men writing women vibe" Alice is perfectly fine to be confused or uncertain, even factoring his/her gender and age. Alice doesn't come out as ingenuine to be emotionally torn about these choices, Unlike other MCs that just want to bang.
Also putting this out their, wether Alice becomes straight, bi, bent, or N/A is still up in the air. So please don't get too invested on your ships, because death flags follow romance.
@markos he he
@markos I will admit, the sole saving grace here is that the story is not centered on romance and the MC is so far being written realistically. IE, not going around pouncing on, flaunting for, or "subjugating" anyone that catches their eye. There have been a lot of issues that have needed dealing with, and the 1 "release" they had earlier turned out to be more trouble than the relief provided ....
Against my better judgment, I'm holding out hope that the readers won't vote for the story to degenerate into a sloppy mess ....
@Sath ya I'm not going down that road... A lot anyway. The main reason is that i want this to be more adventure than smut. Romance is fine but do remember she hasn't even kissed anybody yet much less being ready to jump in the sack with them.... Short of teenage fantasies that is
