Evie Hamilton is considered by consensus to be the most evil girl in Eidolon Academy. Is it because she's a serial killer who preys on her fellow students? No, because death can't happen within Eidolon Academy. Is it because she's committed a hostile conquest of Eidolon Academy, ruling it with an iron fist? No, because the girls are already used to that kind of thing and are well-versed in revolutions. Is it because she's filthy rich and uses that to basically control the school? Yes, actually.
But that doesn't matter to Evie. It's in her nature to do it, for money is something she's destined to have. She doesn't care how much she spends, she'll get it back one way or another, even if it's at the cost of her fellow schoolmates. Controlling the costs of everything in the school by having John Rat on her payroll, running an underground casino in the heart of the basement, and having some of the most powerful students in the school be her lackeys.
So with all that said, what is it that Evie is scheming to do today? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Today, she's simply going to be sitting in her office, watching the Microsoft Excel World Championship. At least, that's the plan, until someone walks into her office uninvited.
"There are currently five clients in the waiting room, Evie Hamilton." Medya enters, holding a clipboard in one hand and mindlessly tapping away at her phone in the other. Evie grunts in annoyance, showing off as big of an eye roll as she can before scowling at the half-elf.
"Give them all five hundred dollars to kill themselves, or better yet, tell them I'm busy." Evie opens a drawer, pulls out a few racks of cash and chucks it at Medya's feet. Unfortunately for Evie, Medya ignores her, putting away her phone to read off her clipboard.
"Four of them arrived within the last five minutes, and the fifth has been napping for three hours. I do not think any of them intend to leave, even at your insistence." Medya continues talking, even as Evie turns up the volume on her computer. Not wanting to deal with this, she proceeds to turn Evie's monitor into pure gold before returning to her duties. "The first to arrive was Belle Stohl. She didn't tell me why she came, as she decided to take a nap once I told her that you were not in the office."
"Then tell that lapdog of hers that she's sleeping and she should pick her up. Add in that usual puppet spiel, too. Hmm… add on another 50k this time." Evie casually orders, moving the golden monitor aside and pulling out a laptop from a drawer. Before she can even open it, however, it's immediately turned to gold.
"I shall notify Carrie, then." Medya says, taking a moment to send a text to the vice president, then returning to her clipboard. "There are two students wishing to complain. It's Genevieve DeRose and Patricia Nitti."
"Those are two names I don't recognise whatsoever, and it probably doesn't matter who they are. Kill them. Turn them to gold. Do literally anything so long as it gets rid of the problem." Evie exasperatedly says, turning to a different drawer to grab out a tablet, only to find it also turned into gold. "Medya, stop that."
"Unfortunately, you will need to face these two. Patricia is currently a highly valued customer, and Genevieve has two of your enforcers hung over her shoulder unconscious." Medya states, tilting her head to dodge the golden tablet chucked at her. She then opens the door, letting in the two girls mentioned.
"Ey, boss, I've got a problem, ya hear?" The first to enter is Patricia, dressed up in a pinstripe five-piece suit with a trilby on top and holding a tommy gun in one hand. She looks like a mobster straight out of the 1920s, if one ignored her small stature befitting a young teenage girl. Before Evie can address the little gangster, the other one with a complaint enters.
"I must apologise for my manhandling of your subordinates, Ms Hamilton." The second to enter is Genevieve, who gives off an air of elegance despite wearing the basic uniform as well as having two unconscious students hanging off her shoulders, whom she promptly drops onto the floor. "It's just that I found them treating a classmate of mine rather… harshly."
"My insincerest apologies, princess. Tell me which one of your beloved damsels was threatened so I can put her on my ban list." Evie doesn't even hide the vitriol in her voice, pulling out a list from her drawer with names crudely written on it. Before this can continue, Patricia shoots the golden monitor, taking her turn.
"Don't ignore me!" Patricia angrily walks up to Evie's desk, slamming her fist on it and leaning forwards, trying to intimidate Evie. The girl in question isn't bothered in the slightest by the gangster. "I've lost an entire briefcase thanks to the incompetence of your 'business'."
Evie would usually be more courteous and slimy in her dealings, but today is a day where she's decided she can't waste time. As such, she opens yet another drawer, taking out a briefcase and placing it on her desk.
"Here. You earned a full refund, no interest slapped on." Evie pushes the briefcase across her desk right into Patricia's stomach, causing the girl to grunt. She looks like she's about to let loose on the casino owner. Instead, Patricia looks back at Genevieve, who gives her a small smile, making the gangster decide to take the briefcase and go. "Now, back to you, princess. The damsel?"
"Why don't we just simplify this? Hands off 1-A." Genevieve stands firm, looking down at the sitting Evie with resolve in her eyes. "I will not let you touch my classmates."
"Sure. I know when to cut my losses. Your class is more headache than worth because of you… huh." Evie nonchalantly says, much to Genevieve's surprise, while crossing out names on a list. She suddenly stops at a familiar name. "Little gangster is in your class. You want her off too?"
"Yes, her too." Genevieve answers, looking at the door that Patricia walked through. "Sooner or later, you would've tried to strike her down."
"That's that, then." Evie signs off on the list, sliding it to the side. "Now get lost. Allegedly, I have two more visitors."
"I bid you adieu, Ms Hamilton." Genevieve does a little curtsy, then elegantly struts out of the room.
"So, Medya, my lovely secretary… who's left?" Evelyn drones out, to which the half-elf stops playing on her phone to read off her clipboard.
"Sora is here to pla-" Medya is quickly interrupted by a phone now turned golden, which she dodges with a duck.
"That's for turning my phone to gold." Evie yells out, having previously tried to watch the MEWC on her phone, only to find it turned to gold. "Also, tell Sora I'm busy."
"I will try." Medya says, putting her clipboard away through an unknown magic, having read the last name. "Jackie McSquiggle is the last."
"Send her in, then." Evie suddenly straightens her posture, none of the childish pettiness she exhibited present in her tone. Medya does as she says, opening the door for the librarian. Unlike the other times, the half-elf walks out of the office, making this a private conversation. "So, librarian. What is it?"
"Hello everybody, my name is… Jacket… from… Payday 2." Jackie hasn't said a single word, but in her hands is a tape recorder. The girl seems to be stitching up sentences using various sources, much to the confusion of Evie. "Beware… witty dialogue."
"You don't come here often, and I know you can talk…" Evie squints at Jackie, wondering what her game is. "You've always been an oddball, haven't you?"
"Toki ga kita. Toki ga kita. Toki ga kita." Jackie repeats with her recorder, her expression giving Evie no hints whatsoever. Before the businesswoman can ask a question, Jackie once again 'speaks'. "The following has been approved for all audiences."
"Okay, this is getting pretentious." Evie stands up, deciding she's had enough, only for Jackie to kick her desk, forcing her back onto her chair. She tries to get up again, only for the librarian to lock her into place with her own desk.
"Too many… games… are… afoot. I want… a… peaceful life." Jackie's expression is still blank, yet Evie can't help but feel dread. "I will… start… pushing… dominos. Please… don't interfere. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk."
The two end up staring at each other for a dreadfully long minute. It's only then that Jackie returns to her typical nonchalant expression, putting her recorder and hands into her hoodie pockets and walking out of the office. Evie lets out the breath she was holding before letting her head fall onto her desk.
On the bright side, her monitor is no longer gold, so she returns to her anticipated watching of a niche event… only to have her PC suddenly restart for a Windows update. She promptly punches her monitor.

Glad to be back
