After the disturbance was brought under control, both individuals were immediately escorted to the station’s security room.

Seated across from the officers, the girl began to explain the situation and the sequence of events she had experienced to the officer in front of her.

However, the officer listened with only half-hearted attention. Just as the girl finished her account, he spoke.

“Miss, train carriages at this early hour are always overcrowded,” he began. “If we have to investigate each case one by one, many incidents like this will occur simply because people are packed together. If everyone were to file complaints as you did, we would receive countless similar reports.”

“So what you are saying is that I am lying? Why don’t you check the CCTV footage, and we will see whether he is guilty or not?” the girl shouted angrily, slamming both of her small hands onto the table.

The officer hurriedly tried to calm her down by offering what he considered a reasonable explanation.

“Ah, that is not what I mean,” he said, raising both hands. “Given how crowded the train carriage was, it would be difficult to determine from the CCTV footage whether the man beside you was truly at fault.”

The girl grew increasingly frustrated, as the officer before her continued to evade responsibility.

Meanwhile, the man who had previously tried to harass her wore a discreet, triumphant smirk.

The girl fell silent, her head lowered. She ground her teeth hard, overwhelmed by frustration at a situation that clearly did not favor her.

After letting out a long breath, she raised her head. The look in her eyes sharpened.

“Check the CCTV footage. Now,” she commanded.

The officer was about to reprimand her for speaking disrespectfully to security staff, but a senior officer standing beside him stopped him before he could take any action.

The senior officer’s gaze was vacant, as if the spark of life had just drained from his body.

“As you requested, Miss,” the senior officer said as he walked toward the exit. Just before stepping outside, he stopped in front of the door.

“Oh. Right. I almost forgot to tell you this.” He turned his head toward the junior officer. “There is a hidden camera in this room. So do not act recklessly. That is what my senior told me before he disappeared ten years ago. I do not know where he went, but he said it right after informing me of this. Perhaps this year will be different. Or perhaps it will be the same as ten years ago.”

After saying that, the senior officer disappeared beyond the closing door. Now, only three people remained in the room. The girl, the man who had previously tried to harass her on the train, and the junior officer.

The three of them fell silent, each occupied with their own thoughts.

The girl paid little attention to the warning the senior officer had given before leaving. The junior officer, however, clearly did not.

Judging by the situation, the girl was now in an unfavorable position. The junior officer did not side with her. The man began to indulge in vile fantasies, imagining himself enjoying the girl together with the junior officer. At least, that was what filled his mind.

Just before the situation could deteriorate further, the senior officer returned, accompanied by the train conductor on duty that day.

“We apologize for the inconvenience,” the conductor began. “I am the conductor responsible here. I have heard the matter from the security staff and have also reviewed the CCTV footage at the train gates. The individual in question has been found guilty.

Therefore, this man will be detained here and handed over to the authorities when they arrive.”

He then shifted his gaze to the girl and bowed deeply before her.

“Please forgive our negligence, which caused you discomfort during your journey. On behalf of all staff involved, I sincerely apologize, Miss.”

“I do not need words,” the girl replied, her tone clearly laced with sarcasm.

“Yes. Of course,” the conductor said calmly. “Naturally, a young lady would not accept such a matter so easily. Therefore, we will take responsibility by providing compensation in the form of complimentary access to the VIP carriage for one week. This is our expression of accountability and sincere apology.”

The girl snorted in dissatisfaction. However, she was not in a position to make many demands, as she was pressed for time.

“Fine. I will accept it. But I do not wish to use the train today. Could you show me where the station exit is?” she asked.

“Please allow me to escort you,” the conductor offered.

As the girl left the room with the conductor, the man who had previously worn a triumphant smirk now stood pale, despair clearly etched across his face.

In a restricted corridor used only by station officers and staff, the girl walked alongside the conductor, who kept one step ahead of her.

“Why are there humans in this station?” the girl suddenly asked.

“I am sorry?” The conductor tilted his head, clearly not understanding the question.

Realizing something, the girl quickly corrected herself.

“No. It is nothing.”

After ten minutes of walking, they arrived at the exit. After bowing and apologizing once more, they parted ways.

The girl stepped out of the station.

The morning sun bathed the world in warm, gentle light as it welcomed her upon emerging from the underground station.

Without hesitation, she took her phone from the pocket of her uniform and immediately called someone.

“Hello. Pick me up at Garden Station. East exit,” she said to the person on the other end.

“Do not ask questions. Just get here quickly,” she added, before ending the call unilaterally.
