Upon the successful conclusion of the community sports meet, Ning Wan returned home.

Because some of the residents had given her farewell gifts, there were too many things for her to carry. She had to prevail on Fu Zheng to help her with them.

"Let's have a meal together so that you don't have to cook tonight."

Today is a day worth celebrating.

After Fu Zheng put the things down, the two of them went grocery shopping, holding hands.

Neither of them was inclined toward dawdling or indecision, so meat and vegetables were quickly selected. However, while passing by the fruit aisle, Fu Zheng stopped. Ning Wan watched him walk in the direction of the imported cherries.

"I just bought fruit yesterday. There's lychees, grapes, peaches and watermelon at home, and I haven't even had time to eat any of them. Let's wait to buy more until after they're gone."

But Fu Zheng, who had almost always agreed on her on everything ever since they got together, was stubborn this time. "I want cherries."

Ning Wan looked at his calm, collected expression and then couldn't help but laugh at this man's sudden bout of childishness.

"Are you craving them?"

"Yes," Fu Zheng nodded seriously.

The quality of these imported cherries was very good, so the price was also rather beautiful. However, Ning Wan thought about it. No matter how poor a woman was, she couldn't treat her man badly1Usually used with the genders swapped. She had after all promised to raise Fu Zheng, and it wasn't like he wanted to buy some luxury car, he just wanted to eat some cherries. Now she was already on the senior partner's team, why hesitate?

Buy it!

Ning Wan immediately took a box and put it into the shopping cart.

But although she had thought that she would spend money on Fu Zheng, when they finally paid, it was Fu Zheng who settled the bill.

Ning Wan's heart felt both sweet and sour. When she met the senior partner later, she thought, she would definitely recommend Fu Zheng to him in person. He really was so wonderful. Even though he was strapped for cash and didn't earn as much as herself, even though he liked to joke about having her support him, in reality he never liked to use her money. He was poor, so the way he spent money on her seemed very much like love...

After they returned home, Fu Zheng volunteered to wash the vegetables. Ning Wan sat down in the living room and turned on the TV——

Coincidentally, Rong City's news channel was currently broadcasting local anecdotes of today, and almost as soon as she turned the TV on, a familiar background appeared on the screen - the amusement park where Ning Wan and Fu Zheng had been not too long ago.

The current program was about mediating emotional disputes, which made Ning Wan a little curious - how had the amusement park caused an emotional dispute?

On the screen, a boy with his face mosaiced out was complaining, "It's been hard for me and my girlfriend. We're doing long distance because I'm studying abroad, and we usually talk to each other over video chat. There have been a lot of ups and downs, and some quarrels, but we've survived this long. This year I'm graduating and coming home to China to begin my career, and I was planning to propose, but then this accident came about."

"Can you tell the audience what happened?" The host said persuasively.

The boy paused before saying angrily, "When I came back home on vacation, I wanted to take my girlfriend out on a date. I heard that there was a newly opened couples-themed amusement park, which sounded pretty cool, so I took her there and we participated in their popular Secret Hollow Tree Exchange. But unexpectedly, the staff made a mistake and swapped the secret I wrote for the wrong one, and I don’t know whose secret my girlfriend got.”

"What I wrote was 'when I come back to China, let's get married'; but as it turns out, whoever wrote this other note confessed to an affair they had while they were away from home!"

The boy looked quite depressed and frustrated. "Because we've been long-distance, we don't get to meet up much and when we do meet, we go out to eat or shop or go on dates. When we're not together, we communicate by typing and video chat, so she's not familiar with my handwriting and she thought it was really written by me. Now she thinks that I cheated on her and wants to break up with me! I hope the amusement park will give an explanation and an apology to me and my girlfriend, and one to the other couple as well."

The host then proceeded to interview the amusement park manager, who naturally engaged in some nonsense rambling and passing the buck around. Ning Wan watched casually. She felt both sympathy for the boy and also some lingering fear. Thank goodness she and Fu Zheng hadn't had any problems.

At this time, Fu Zheng, who had just finished washing the vegetables, walked out of the kitchen. "What are you so absorbed in?"

"At the amusement park we went to last time, something went wrong at the secret exchange tree hollow due to the high number of visitors, and some secrets got mixed up."

Fu Zheng glanced at the TV, then smiled at her. "At least our exchange didn't go wrong." At that point he laughed a little, lowered his head and said quietly, "Actually, when I first wrote out my secret, I felt quite unsettled because it was such a big deception for you. I wasn't the me you know, but another me. I was very nervous for fear you wouldn’t accept me.”

When he said this, Ning Wan fell in love with Fu Zheng all over again. Indeed, it had been very unexpected that Fu Zheng wasn't at all what she had seen, but a delicate crybaby who was afraid of the dark. He must have been so nervous inside when writing his secret down.

"Forget it, let's not talk about these things. Just remember that I won't ever lie to you about anything ever again."

Ning Wan nodded, and the topic changed to something else as the TV channel switched to broadcasting the news.

After that, the two of them began making dinner, and when that cozy dinner had been eaten, Fu Zheng rushed to clear the bowls and chopsticks——

"You did more of the cooking, so leave the cleaning to me."

Ning Wan felt a tingling in her heart. She couldn't be more satisfied. The most important thing about a man wasn't his money, but whether or not he was willing to share the housework! She had really lucked out with Fu Zheng!

Just watching Fu Zheng's tall, long-legged figure carefully washing dishes in the kitchen made Ning Wan happy inside.

Fu Zheng, however, didn't seem to think it was enough. After doing the dishes, he washed the fruit as well. "I washed the cherries and put them in the kitchen." He glanced at Ning Wan and said a little artificially, "Doing the washing-up has made me a little tired, would you mind helping me bring out the cherries?"

Although she was a little confused about why Fu Zheng hadn't just brought the cherries out when he left the kitchen, Ning Wan still nodded. "No problem."

But when she entered the kitchen and walked over to the counter, Ning Wan understood--

On the counter, Fu Zheng had made her a heart with the cherries.

At that moment, he walked to kitchen door and leaned against the frame. He cleared his throat in a somewhat contrived manner and explained, "For some reason, I didn't catch the cherry heart you gave me in the Yuelan apartment in time, so I'm giving you a cherry heart now.”

He glanced at the cherries sitting on the counter. "A more expensive one."

He was clearly a grown man, but Fu Zheng's competitive streak was sometimes rather cutely childish. Smiling, Ning Wan picked a a cherry up. "Then thanks for your heart. I'm going to have one."

Fu Zheng smiled as well. "Is it sweet?"

Ning Wan narrowed her eyes at his laughingly and asked, "Want to try one?"

Without waiting for him to respond, she skipped over to Fu Zheng, reached up on tiptoe, and kissed him, feeding the cherry she had just eaten into his mouth. Gave it to the other party.

Fu Zheng was surprised at first, then rapidly gained interest. He got rid of the core, ate the cherry, and then leaned over to say in her, "Quite sweet."

Then he kissed her, at first her earlobe, then her cheek, then her eyes, brows, nose, and finally her lips.

The lights were on and they were the only two people in the room. At first their kisses were innocent and chaste, but the more they kissed, the more the air changed and their breath heated up.

Ning Wan never thought before that simply kissing could produce such a forbidden feeling, as if her whole body was getting hot, and every pore and every hair was filled with an unfamiliar shiver. The two of them kissed all the way from the kitchen to the living room, where Ning Wan was pushed gently onto the sofa.

Although this second-hand used sofa could not be turned into a sofa bed, it was well worth the money she had paid for it. Sturdy enough to bear the weight of two adults, it showed no sign of buckling except for a few ambiguous creaks.

Ning Wan felt as though she were a piano, being played freely by the pianist's slender hands.

The prelude to this piece was sweetly gentle, but as the melody progressed it became faster and faster, deepening with dazzling arpeggios, chords and trills. Every note seemed to touch the soul, and Ning Wan's body resonated together in harmony.

In that stormy atmosphere, Fu Zheng finally let go of Ning Wan. He was breathing heavily and there was a sense of urgency about him, but his movements were still gentle and courteous. He looked at her and asked, "Ning Wan, can we?"

Ning Wan bit her lip and blushed hard enough to steam an egg. She nodded and whispered, "Let's go to the bedroom."
