Ellie woke up and saw Nick was already dressed and looking through some files. With puffy eyes, she mumbled, "Good morning."
"Very good morning," Nick replied with a bright, focused smile.
They both came out of the room. In the living room, Ethan and Tony were already up, ready, and deeply engrossed in searching through the physical, twenty-year-old files. Freya was standing near the counter, sipping her coffee.
"Good morning, Ellie," Freya said. "Come on, I’ll get you some coffee. We also ordered breakfast."
Just then, Ethan exclaimed, "Found it!"
"Yes!" Nick replied, hearing their conversation Ellie and Freya walked over with their coffee cups.
"What did you find, Ethan?" Ellie asked.
"We found the original physical document in this box of twenty-year-old files," Ethan said, pulling out a faded folder. "It was misplaced in a stack of unrelated documents."
"We now have solid, physical evidence against them," Nick declared, holding the folder with care.
"I’ve spoken to our legal team," Nick continued. "They have made arrangements to meet the Five Star Softwares CEO and their legal team this morning. We three—Ethan, Tony, and I—are going there."
He turned to the women. "Ellie and Freya, do not tell anything to any of our employees. You both should go to the office today. We will meet you there in the evening. "
Ellie and Freya nodded.
Ellie asked, "Does the Five Star CEO know that we found the original document?"
"No," Nick said. "We called them just to gauge their motive. We will let them speak first. We also want to confirm if the MLM group CEO, Peter Paul, is behind this. Let them show their hand first."
Ellie and Freya wished them good luck and said goodbye. They then went to get ready for their day at the office.
In the office, Ellie was busy organizing her new workload. Joy approached her desk and asked, "Seems like you are busy."
"Seems like you are not," Ellie countered, not looking up.
"My boss will be late today," Joy said, pouting slightly.
"You mean our boss," Ellie corrected teasingly.
"Do you know where he went?" Joy asked.
"No," Ellie lied.
"I know," Joy said smugly. "He informed me. He said he is meeting a client."
Ellie laughed a little. "Okay, so what should I do with that information?"
"He is my boss, that's why he told me where he went," Joy insisted.
Ellie sighed and finally looked at Joy. "Joy, do we have a problem? I don't understand. I am sensing a lot of hatred toward me."
Joy thought for a moment. "I don't hate you, but I don't like you either. I feel like you are a lot of trouble. Because of you, David left. Yet, whether it's my boss, or your boss Mr. Abbott, they all seem to like you and your work."
"If you don't like me, why are you talking to me now?" Ellie asked simply.
"Actually, I'm a little bored," Joy admitted, "so I came to ask details about your married boyfriend."
Ellie gave her a look of utter disinterest. "I broke up with him," she stated simply. "So now, can you please leave me alone?"
Joy finally left.
During the coffee break, Freya and Ellie met up and talked about the meeting. They were anxious and worried about whether everything went smoothly for Nick, Ethan, and Tony.
After some time, they both received identical messages from Nick and Ethan: "Come to the conference room on the third floor immediately."
