Ku Lo peeked at the rooftop to see if a certain someone still hid there.
She wasn’t. Only the first raindrops of a downpour falling from the sky occupied the rooftop’s tiles before they flowed into the gutters.
It seemed that Rin Tin Tin had the decency to leave in order to give him space; he was sure of this for some mysterious reason.
Could it be that I share a faint dual cultivation link with her, too? he pondered. I did penetrate her, but that shouldn’t be enough for such a strong link... and it has been almost a week since it happened in the first place.
But what else is there? Us creating a bond would make a lot of sense as to why I can sense her warm intentions towards me- He shook his head. Whatever, all I need to know is that she’s gone.
Ku Lo turned his focus to the frozen Huang Qingling not faced by the rain soaking her brown hair and white robes.
I should still try to genuinely help her. Gingge has gone too far for me not to answer with love to her, and to her family. His feelings for Gingge skyrocketed every time she put herself out there for him.
With his mind made up, he decided to offer his heart to Gingge. By extension, this meant he needed to take care of Qingling.
A foot began tapping against the ground as a hand scratched the underside of his chin.
Maybe I can just- His hands tried to pull her up and under the roofed entrance.
Nope, not happening. He couldn’t move her slippery hand an inch.
What if I- With a hint of power, he pushed her shoulders.
Qingling didn’t have a reaction, yet her body did lean into a fall.
Shit! he lunged after her, catching her halfway to the ground with his hand around her waist.
“Bastard! What are you doing?! Get your hands off me!” Qingling struggled out of his grasp, which led to her falling on the wet ground.
“I wasn’t—”
“Shouldn’t you be with Gingge?” Her index finger pointed at him standing atop of her lying on the ground. “Did you try to...”
“No! I would never.”
She laughed hysterically. “You expect me to believe that?”
“I have my standards. No matter what you think, molestation is below me.”
“But forgetting everything else in the world when Feng Huling gives a little tease isn’t? Why did the man Gingge wanted have to be such a resilient liar?”
“Wait. Wait. Wait. That’s rich coming from you. Wasn’t it your idea to—”
“She wouldn’t have gotten over you otherwise. I gave her what she wanted while preparing to get rid of you and console her once you’d inevitably break her heart. But she just…”
“Why can’t you let her pick?”
“Would you let a child run into the woods?”
“She isn’t a child!” He tried his best to keep his voice down as an act of appearing calm, yet this was still a slight exclaim.
“She is. Who in their right mind would come to like someone enough to forgive this treatment after a few hours of looking at them from afar?”
“So what or whom are you looking for?” His light blue eyes were wide open. “Some far way prince perfect?”
“If he can take care of my sister, mentally and physically, then yes.”
“And why are you so against me making it up to her? I’ll do whatever it takes to make her happy!”
“Forget it. Your flowery words mean nothing to me..”
“I’m not a cold-blooded monster. There’s no way I don’t get how much I hurt her. If she hated me, I would stay as far from her as possible but you’ve seen her, too. She still wants the asshole who ditched her for another girl. So, as long as she is willing to try, I will give it my all to make up for what I lacked before!”
He reached out his hand to her. “Please. Just for now — please — be the caring sister she needs.”
“If you’re so eager to make it up to her, then why not break up with everyone else?”
“What?”
“Is that already the limit of your sincerity?”
“What are you talking about? Anyway, Gingge told me she doesn’t care for this as long as I love her.”
“This isn’t just about your own incompetence, not everything is about you. And of course, she’ll tell you so. However, the reality of the situation is that Gingge can’t deal with rivals. Soon as she has to fight off others, her spirit is crushed. Go in there and you’ll see what it does to her.”
“So that’s why-” He let out a deep sigh. “But how could I do that? Neglecting Fen’er and Ling’er because of my mistake wouldn't be fair either.”
Qingling looked at him like he was an idiot. “I do not care”
“Right, you don’t care and I understand why.”
“Good, then waddle off now.” She shooed him with a hand. “If you can’t—”
“I’m not going anywhere,” he cut her mid-sentence. “You might not care for me, but you do care about your sister’s well being.”
“Really?”
He nodded. “Both of us can play this game.”
His smirk must’ve done its job as her cheek twitched. “Do you know that the contract allows me to end your life?”
“Do it.”
She stood, silent.
“Do it,” he repeated. “Let’s see how she’ll react to that.”
Her head tilted as a vein on her forehead appeared next to popping open.
“Now tell me how I can fix thi—”
Before he could finish, a hand slapped his face. “There’s a limit even for that.”
The slap wasn’t any harder than the one before, but this time Ku Lo was only forced to lean forward.
Now towering over him — he didn’t dare to stand back up — he watched how Qingling took her time cleaning her hand which had slapped him. “One final chance. Your wanton recklessness for your own life has earned it. As a bonus for not even complaining about that slap and knowing your place, I’ll throw in a piece of advice. Listen closely, lucky bastard: Sweep her off her feet. Demand extreme things from her so she can’t think and feels wanted.”
“After all your self-righteous buildup, this is what you come up with?”
“You’re the one who caused this and now you’re picky about advice? Get going or my blade might get a mind of its own.”
“Yes., thank you for your malevolence.” To end this grovelling, Ku Lo made his way to Gingge’s room without a further word.
Inside of the room lit by a single candle, right behind the door lied Gingge curled into a ball.
“It’s okay now. No need to cry.” His hands embraced Gingge, drawing her into his chest.
“D-did y-you stop fighting?” Gingge’s hands squirmed around him and hugged tight. “Is t-the f-fight over?”
“Mmm-” he patted her back. “We’ll not fight anymore.” Of course, this was a lie.
Ku Lo knew the argument wasn’t over, but the two of them had agreed on a ceasefire for Gingge’s sake. Whatever Qingling decided to punish him with would be the punishment Gingge was unwilling to administer.
Wow. The minor mistake he did blew up like a million nuclear bombs.
In a world of polygamy, in a dual cultivation sect, several of the girls reactions come off as quite strange I think. They should be quite mentally prepared for the possibility to share their man with others and what that means for a relationship unlike people from a monogamous society. I'd get it if he got a reprimand for not doing as he said, not acting like he raped their mother and killed their father just because he didn't do the night visit he said he would do one time.
It also feels like he bends over way too easily, several times in multiple ways. Actually signing the contracts in the first place is to me so insanely stupid I can't wrap my head around it.
He mentioned the saying "don't stick your d*ck in crazy", and drama prone girls are at the top of crazy in my opinon.
Very interesting as always. Especially that he’s doing the right thing snd trying to fix it. Thanks for the chapter.
For me I am still kind of in the dark on what "HE" needs to fix. He did not ask for this and was pretty much forced. In fact he has very rarely been a agent in his own life since he was transported. Sure he is muddling through right now but what is he expected to do. Sure he was kinda wrong for not screwing the right girl when he said he would but would he be screwing her if this insane thing was not forced on him.
This reads kinda like when a guy finds out a kid is not his so he leaves and everyone calls him a asshole because he did not stick around for the woman. Why are we not looking at the sisters and saying hey earn it. So far I hate to say it but only the Teacher and Rin Tin have been the only ones that have shown any character growth and agency as actual beings. Mostly it is the teacher reprimanding MC though.
I guess my point is that the MC has not really sat down (or at least we as the reader have not seen it) and asked himself the 5W's and kinda decide what his goal is. I mean so far things have happened to the MC and the MC just react. The Inner disciples want to prey on the Outer well let me lead them I guess. Ohh Save a damsel and now sisters want to entrapt me OK guess I will be trapped, girl wants to rape me on my first day and I escape with the help of her grandpa well guess I will stick around and see what happens next.
@Hid3Bush So far the only true choice the MC made was to save his sister (that we have only seen or heard from ONCE but yet seems a driving force of the story) and even that comes the body previous memory. We really need the MC to have a moment when he comes into himself for himself. Finds out what he wants to do and start being a agent of change in his life rather then just a victim of circumstance.
It feels kind of like the author did not want to fall in the trope of making harem members carboard cutouts that only exists to get the MC penis wet and to fall all over how great he is. In doing that he made the MC a cardboard cutout that only exists for the Harem members to do stuff to. I do see that it is early in the story and there is much more to go, just so far the stuff going on to MC and how he is just eating it irks me. Like he is just a doormat for anyone else then Rin Tin.
@Fafulin I guess him not getting with the sister and going over to have s*x with the other girl is something he needs to work on. Not thinking with his deck and his head more.
@ThisClown Ok I can sorta maybe kind of get that but with his cultivation technique thinking with his d*ck is kind of the point. Also still no answer as to why should he care about their feelings, where was the build up to why they should matter to him at all. So far they were all thrust upon him and he is the asshole for not caring how they feel when he has only chosen one of them so far. I guess to me the story of them has not been fleshed out enough that it has been shown why he should care besides him man they woman so he wrong.
Seriously before this fight with the sister what has Gingge actually done to show anything. What besides the Fairy Feng and the teacher have shown anything for him. I even went back and reread the chapters to see if I missed anything.
@Fafulin I agree with you on that. It doesn't really flesh out why he should care. Or why it matters all that much.
Fairy feng and the teacher have been fleshed out more and it makes sense why he should care if he annoys them or ignores them.
The sisters are confusing. Does it explain why Gingge is so in love him cause I've forgotten. Agreed as well about his technique he needs to get laid a lot. Maybe being smarter about it is the way to go so the crazy stalker or crazy sister don't kill you
@ThisClown If he was smart he would get rid of the crazy sisters. So far they are vastly more trouble then they are worth. The crazy stalker is way stronger then him and has waay too much clout so his best option is either ignoring her and trying to leave the sect ( what grandpa thought he would do since he stated his small sect could not keep him) or accepting her which will probably happen eventually but then it will feel like one of those hentais where some guy raped his way into love.
@Fafulin I’m sure he has to accept her or she won’t be happy about it. She might make it worse if he doesn’t accept her weirdness.
Getting rid of the sisters can’t happen now though. With that contract in place he signed.
@ThisClown Then in my mind how are they any better then Rin Tin. Even if one sister destroyed the contract the other has it. Thats like they are saying she wont do anything to him but her sister will kill him if he does not obey.
I really dont know what the authors intent was or maybe the author is trying to write something and dont have the skills...I know for a fact that I have screwed that up often myself.
@Fafulin I suppose the answer is their not. They are as bad as Rin Tin. He’s being forced with the contract for sure.
Very true maybe the author will turn it around and it will make more sense. I’m just keen for it to continue.
@Fafulin
@ThisClown
Hmm, very interesting. Let me get to these points one at a time.

Then in my mind how are they any better then Rin Tin. Even if one sister destroyed the contract the other has it. Thats like they are saying she wont do anything to him but her sister will kill him if he does not obey.
That's what it pretty much says. Gingge isn't willing to use the power while Qingling is willing to use the power for Gingge's sake. However, it isn't them saying it. The sisters aren't one person. Qingling wouldn't destroy the contract since she isn't soft like Gingge is.
|
For the other thing, sure. I'm not really good enough to make everything work here.
|
As for leaving the sect: It wouldn't work due to the Sect Master wanting him to stay. And while at the start he could've left, now it isn't an option anymore as he's invested into the sect due to being with Meifen and Huling.
|
About him being thrown around... Yeah, that's true. Though this chapter was a W for Ku Lo before yesterday. On the last edit, we decided to make it an L — it was a major W where he won over Huling. The reason was that he shouldn't have won there. But he does try to be the master of his own life. It is just very hard and he still has no, cultivation, power.
|
All talk about him going for his sister is kinda off since he can't really leave yet + he has no idea if the medallion works and if it doesn't he has no way to help her yet. Going back would be right, but he doesn't have anything to surely help her, so right now the current play is to become stronger so he can get the help of stronger medics.

Trying to answer other questions, and feel free to ask
@Hid3Bush I did like that the sister didn’t just cave and she was still pissed at Ku Lo. Also most of that makes sense. I imagine it’s going to be hard for him with his sister until he can actually help her.
He does need to get stronger so he can be the master of his life. I’m enjoying this and can’t wait for more.
@Hid3Bush Thank you so much for your reply.
I think we are addressing two different "motivators" for why he is doing something. The phsical motivators being he does not want to be killed by crazy sister or does not want to get wrapped up in Rin Tin shennanigans.
I was more talking about the "emotional" motivators. Like sure they can take his body but why should he care if he hurts them emotionally and such.
@Fafulin I'm not really following this. Of course, he'd care about them 'emotionally' too. And he's shown that he really does care about Gingge, so much in fact that he's willing to grovel a bit for his sister. Also, if he were to hurt someone emotionally it would lead to other people looking at him in a certain way, so keeping them happy is good for his physical health.
@ThisClown No problem :D. And I'm always willing to answer more questions.
@Hid3Bush how big are you planning on making his harem? I guess right now it’s at 3 or 4.
@ThisClown 6 is like the number where the plans are at. Then there are two maybes. It depends on a whole lot on how they'd tie into the plot and so on. Massive harem is off the table, I think. Casual or short term relationships aren't, and breakups aren't off the table either. We don't want to make it a small one, as that would lead to repetition where they'd fight all the time yet get back together. Whereas a huge harem would mean little time for individual characters and so on.
@Hid3Bush Perfect 6 is a good number to be fair. I like the idea of short flings. Break ups are said but as long as it’s not the main girls it’s pretty chill. That’s the issue if the harem is to large you have to spend heaps of time developing characters or they just become people for mc to f*ck and don’t meant anything.
@Hid3Bush Lol I did mention my writing ambition often goes further then my talent right. What I mean emotionally I mean why should he care what the sisters want. Besides one trying to kill him and them forcing him into a contract what has established them to us the reader and him the MC as someone we should care about. Physically he is in a do or die but emotionally you have him feeling fondness but why. What have they brought to the table or done that would make them worthy of his care except have a vagina.
I guess I feel you have not established the MC as a agent of his life like I said only as a victim of circumstance. Like I said I went and reread about the characters and Fairy Feng and Mi Fen so far are the only ones that have engendered good will and we can see (us the reader) as someone he kinda sorta may can get positive feelings for. This last chapter we see the sisters fight over him but again why should we care, there was no arc where they learn anything about him and at no point before we meet the sisters do you show why they should matter to him. Even this fight felt more like one sister standing up to the other more to show her independence rather then actual care for him.
Sorry probably not explaining it well.
Also what I mean physical VS emotional would be like work. Like your job pays you well so you do it but you hate your job with every fiber of your being. So physically you know you have to work because money but emotionally you loathe it.
@Fafulin
Huh?
In the last chapter Ku Lo is very happy when snooping on them and hearing Gingge tells Qingling that he's her bf. Then he goes and says that he'll open his heart for Gingge as she's done/forgiven so much towards him. Gingge is lovestruck to him. They are mutually in love at this point, and it is made rather clear. There are also other small hints of this along the earlier chapters
As for mc. He does have a lot of drives. He wants to become stronger, as this will allow him to live the good life, and heal / take care of his sister to excuse himself.
