“Your Highness!” Karlen appeared shocked and stood up when he saw Raulas appear.

“Haha, it’s fine.” He waved his hand and sat down next to Karlen.

“I’m planning to stay here for a while to learn about this world's culture and people. Do correct me if I have any misunderstandings, it’s important for me and my subordinates to understand this world if we are to spread.” He gave a warm smile to Karlen and looked to the door.

“Sir Benjamin, please enter.” The moment he spoke, the door opened to reveal Benjamin with his hand raised, preparing to knock.

“Ah. T.. Thank you. You are…?” Benjamin asked with a weird expression.

“This is His Hig-” Raulas interrupted Karlens introduction with a loud scratching noise as he pushed his chair back and stood up.

“I am Raulas, nice to meet you.” He gave Benjamin a nod.

“Ah, good evening R.. Rolas. My name is Benjamin Mea.” He stuck out his hand as he looked at Raulas.

“Hmm?” Raulas stared at his hand hanging alone curiously.

“Ah, sorry, I guess you’re from Kanas like these guys? This is just how we greet in this world, shaking hands.” Benjamin was about to awkwardly bring his hand back when it was taken by Raulas.

A bit weak, but what can I expect from someone like this. He’s probably from their civil ranks. He mused as he took a look at Raulas.

A fair, warm and trusting yet domineering face with long black hair. He had almost no aura to speak of, yet, Benjamin did not feel that Raulas was weak at all. In fact, he felt a bit suffocated as he held his hand.

Letting go, he coughed a bit as he looked away.

“Are you okay Sir Benjamin?” Raulas asked with a raised eyebrow. Did I shake it too strong? I’m sure I held back to human levels.

“Yep, I’m all good, just got something stuck in my throat.” Benjamin coughed a few more times until he looked at the table.

“Oh, my map, this is one of the more complete ones in the country, of course, the merchants and explorers have better ones.” He picked up another chair from the corner of the room and sat on Karlens left.

“Well, since you’re here, you can help me understand something. Before you entered, I asked Karlen this question also. You have these flying machines that don’t glide, but truly fly, surpassing human abilities. Yet… You haven’t explored the whole world yet? Karlen here was amazed by your discovery of this land here.” Raulas pointed to the land protruding from the west.

“Well.. This is quite tough but I’ll try and answer to the best of my abilities.” He scanned the map as he thought of what to say.

“The reason why we haven’t explored much of the world is due to war. The mainland is nearly always at war, in one form or another, never leaving enough time and resources for exploration. Until quite recently, a couple of decades ago, Jusla was a colony of Einzalt. We were mainly a trade colony, only set up to find new trade routes and resources.”

“Keep in mind, proper, long-flying planes were only invented a decade ago, the resources to create them and the technology were scarce, and still are. We’re lucky to have our own People's Air Force. We have around 100 planes, and we’re trying to expand that number every day to fight Einzalt.”

“I don’t know if you know this, but planes and most other machines require oil to use them. Once they run out, they can only glide and fall out of the sky, meaning, we’d need a lot of fuel on board to carry them for a long distance, and to return. So most exploration is conducted by ships. In fact, I’ve heard some rumours of an ‘Aircraft Carrier’, supposedly it's a ship that has been fitted with a runway and storage below deck for planes.” Benjamin was about to say that it’s crazy, but then he realised that he was sitting opposite of a demon, if that wasn’t crazy, then nothing is.

“I see.. I see. I suppose this must be Einzalt then.. What are these other countries?” Looking at the map Raulas pointed to several countries.

“The one south of Einzalt is Haskhan, a mainly desert country ruled by semi-nomadic people who still use horses, but beware of their dragoons, they have high mobility alongside their guns. The country is separated from Einzalt by the vast Midias mountains spanning the entire border of Einzalt and Haskhan with only one passage. The mountain range was named after the god the people who live in the mountains worship. They also control some land in the west of Einzalt, separated from its country by the Dragons Gulf.”

“East of Einzalt is the Kingdom of Makraren, a mostly warmongering country that has recently settled down due to a new, and from the rumours, wise king. Not much else is known as they keep to themselves apart from war matters, they’re technology should be equal to Einzalts.”

“South-East is the Kingdom of Sallia. They are mostly peaceful and seclusive people who are constantly at war, being attacked by all of their neighbours, yet it always seems to hang on. It is right in the middle of the continent and we know there are more countries east and south of it, but we haven’t made much contact due to their technology falling behind a bit. All of these countries share a border with each other, right here. This is the War Generals Memorial. The 4 countries put their respected generals here to rest. It is seen as a great offense to battle at this point, and it has been like that since ancient times.”

Letting out a sigh, he looked to Raulas to see him thinking.

“Oh, I forgot to mention, Jusla has been colonizing the new continent, and it seems to be going quite successfully. Boat loads of gold and resources have been transported back, making this the golden age of Jusla, just after its birth.”

“Mhm.. I see now. This is good. You should go prepare, I want to see the abilities of your technology, if it is better than our magic and cultivation. I’ll leave everything here to you Mogus. I’m going to Einzalt, I’m very curious about this world.” Everyone stood up at once.

“But.. Who will run the-” Karlen was cut short by a smile from Raulas.

“This is only a clone, you don’t need to worry, my main body is still in Kan-Celeste, and I rarely ever leave.” Giving him a warm smile, he vanished.

“Who was that? He seems pretty important.” Benjamin asked with furrowed brows.

“That was the-” Karlen was cut short again by a cough from Mogus.

“Oh come on! Stop interrupting me every time I speak!” Karlen nearly shouted.

“Don’t tell him anything. His Majesty has a plan if he decided not to say anything.” Mogus sat back down, and pointed to the paperwork, “Translate for me.”
