“ It seems that it is over.” Evelyn said understating the situation.

Our tribe of goblins had been victorious with few casualties, however the enemy had fought to the last so they didn’t capture any hostages.

“ Geez I hope that the goblins in the village over there aren't this stubborn otherwise this was all for nothing.” I said finding myself growing annoyed. Honestly it hurt my butt sitting in this tree watching the fighting without the chance to join in.

“Anyway, shouldn't they head towards that marsh village by now.” I said while adjusting my positions.

“ It seems that they are about to.” Evelyn said while pointing out that the raiding party was starting to move again.

Seeing that I transform back into my succubus form. “Let's go!” I told Evelyn as I set off.

Following behind me Evelyn asked. “ Hey boss. How long are you planning to follow the goblins? The fights are already over.”

“ I am just trying to make sure they don’t mess up at the last minute or something. Well go home after the goblins secure the village.” I told her.

Like that we followed the goblins as they marched back to the marsh village. It took them a while to get back on their feet after the body. Most of it was dealing with the dead bodies. In the end they sent back the wounded to the village and separated the dead into two piles, “Ours” and “there's” from what I overheard. Most likely they are going to come back and retrieve their dead for a ceremony of some kind.

“ Hey, do you know how the goblins treat their dead?” I asked Evelyn.

“It’s mostly cremation and then spreading around the ashes. Why do you want to know?”  Evelyn answered and then countered with a question of her own.

“No real reason, just wondering.” I answered idly as we approached our destinations.

From this distance I could see the marsh village. I could see the people there leave their homes at the approach of the large group. I could even see how their look of happiness at the victorious return of there warriors turned to confusion and then horror at the truth before them.

Some attempted to grab what looked like weapons, some attempted to flee, both actions proved useless. The raiders were on them in an instant. Soon what meager defense the village mounted at the last second was overwhelmed and the village was over. The men were being thrown down and beaten, the children were being dragged out of their hiding spots, the women were being taken to secluded spots to be twisted rewards for the surviving raiders.

“ How boring.” I said looking over the scene.

“ Really I find it quite fascinating.” Evelyn said. “ Maybe I should swoop down there and grab a snack while we're here.”

“No, we're heading back.” I said turning around to fly away. “you’ll get to eat these guys in a week anyway.”

“Aww. and it was just getting to the good part.” Evelyn said. Honestly this whole outing was a bit disappointing.

“ Come on, let's check on the goblin village, maybe Nai's intel was wrong.” I quietly hoped.
